I can live with that... if in fact those are light type of armors.

I think so. They all seem quite form-fitting, I'm guessing with one main layer of protection plus more flexible materials. The ones I'd call medium tend to have extra bits like pauldrons on the shoulder or extra plating, and looks more stiff.

I kind of always just assumed her nipples were pierced, which would keep them hard all the time.

Occam's razor: The artist was pandering to people who are technically too young to buy the game.

Do you say the same thing about the Fifth Element? That's all it is. It's inspired by Leeloo, but with Jack's punk rock aesthetic.

And nipples poke through even in loose clothing a lot. It's only natural.

Kids don't care about characters like Jack, half of the time anyways. You're giving them too much credit. And if they do, they're cool kids. Like I was. :P

Well yes I would, the purpose of Leeloo's outfit is also to show off her body.

And nipples do, yes - but it's a conscious design decision to do this. I can't really see what the purpose of it was except to titillate.

Don't get me wrong, when I was a teenager and early twenties I was well up for the sexy funtime characters. it's only as I have got older that i have realised how ridiculous it is.

Edit: and the other thing, of course, is that none of the men have visible nipples or carefully caressed nobs thrusting through their skin tight outfits - if they did then it wouldn't appear quite as deliberately aimed.

Leeloo also just looked cool. As does Jack. It isn't merely just sexiness. It's a little wild and feral looking...which both of the characters are, in their own way. There are generally more messages being sent in a design than just sexiness. You're making artists look petty, when they aren't. I know Matt Rhodes said Jack was his favorite character to design... he wouldn't say that if it was merely titillation. And I think Jean Paul Gaultier designed Leeloo (and all of Fifth Element). And he's gay. It's your own deal if you can only view it in one light.

Men don't have large nipples, so it doesn't happen as often. I wouldn't care if it did though.

Looking at the screen posted, I think her clothes bandages might actually just be a texture painted over the nude model (with the jacket added). So the nipples are there by legacy, rather than design.

It's silly, but silly things often have silly reasons. If it was calculated titillation I'd expect it to be more titillating, or at least overt.

Not just the artist. The writers as well. In fact BioWare as a whole seems to be pandering to the kids even though their games are rated 16+ or 18+ in most countries.

The fact that even the mildest of profanity (such as the other words for pee and poop) is being censored on this forum testifies to that. Even words like the F-word are being censored on the BSN, despite many characters in Mass Effect saying it on a regular basis. I find that odd, but I digress.

Having a female pilot would be an interesting departure from the other games.

I get the feeling "social justice" is just Fundies and Puritanism all over again. A hyper moralized view of the world. Projecting everyone as overtly sexual and condemning it. No fun. As sterile as a hospital. We should all live in a world resembling "The Andy Griffith Show".

Golly Gee Willickers, Batman. Look at her nipples.

I'll take Madonna's brand of feminism over this.

To be honest the nipples aren't actually part of the model, but part of the normal-map. They're not really there, it's just a texture that looks 3D to give you the illusion that there are nipples poking through her bandages. So her nips are as much "painted on" as the bandages themselves. Just saying.

I'm honestly fine with Jack's outfit in ME3 though. I like her look in that game a lot more than her look in ME2.

No. It's all about context. I'm more than happy for any amount of sexy fun time (hell if femshep wants to use a strapon with Jacob then why the hell not) but it has to be in the right place.

Without getting into any other part of this, it's a game. Where everything has to be designed. And I think it's pretty normal to ask, why would anyone put it in the time to design hard nipples?

Because those aren't hard nipples. It's pretty normal for women's nipples to poke through skin-tight outfits. Whenever my girlfriend comes home from jogging her nips often poke through her sports bra and I'm pretty sure that thing is thicker and more sturdy than Jack's bandages. So yeah, go figure.

There's absolutely no point in rendering this stuff, any more than it is to show the outline of a hard **** because it's morning and whomever hasn't peed yet. It's a weird and pointless detail.

No, it would be weird and pointless to NOT render Jack's nips in her ME3 outfit. It would look weird, as if someone cut off her nips, and it would be pointless because pandering to the political correct SJW crowd is always pointless.

Fair enough. I think we can agree that seeing women as merely sexual objects is bad. I just think women (or depictions of women, like here) can own it, and yet to be powerful or interesting at the same time (which is why I mention Madonna above. If anything, she helped many women there). Jack is a good example of having more depth than mere titillation. I also think Isabela is too, for that matter...who probably gets more criticism for being mere eye candy. If someone writes her off as only there for the "male gaze", that's their own damn fault. They're missing out.

One of the warning points I got was from quoting a line from a video game and circumventing the profanity filter. This was also in a thread devoted to that game.

Of course it probably means some tool reported me.

I wonder what lose if I hit 10. Or what they win.

But yeah, Bioware forums seem to live in some family friendly bubble.... even though the games are not.

So why not Jacob's ****, given how tight his outfit is?

Seriously? C o c k is censored? This place is bloody ridiculous.
