I found Miranda's catsuit sexualization because it didn't even fit her character as was presented. (Same with Samara.)

Jack's outfit was fitting. Jacob's wasn't really. (His was just dumb. But it at least had the decency not to be shoved in our face via camera angles constantly so there was that).

Sexy outfits can work when they fit the character and situation. They didn't do either with Mrianda.

Fair enough. It's been a while since I've played the games, and Miranda wasn't my favorite character anyway, so I won't agree or disagree about her, I was just trying to give an example.

I do agree about Samara. I personally disagree about Jack in the sense that I don't think there's any personality or situation in which that leather strap thing doesn't look stupid, so I don't understand the motivation behind the choice there. I mean, at least give her a sports bra so she can move without discomfort or... slippage.

Jacob's outfit was perfect for his job. Whatchu talkin' 'bout?

Jacob's outfit looked like some.... weird sports uniform to me. That and him with his brooding dullard persona meant that I never used him beyond his the missions where he was required. I still don't see what the point of his character was supposed to be, other than to be femshep's space mandingo.

Looked like a superhero costume to me.  Minus the cape and cowl.

Cerberus-Man will save the day, with his trusty sidekick Joker!

Says me. I'm a man of fine tastes.

It's a big world, I am sure you can find something that fits your fine taste without implying that women need to dress in a certain way to be good.

Jack should have worn a suit of secondhand Cerberus armor that's she' had marked up to suit her own tastes.  Like an anarchy symbol over the Cerberus logo, and various other colorful messages all over.

Like seriously, I'm going to be cringing if we have characters running around in stiletto's, catsuits, spandex, etc.

Not to mention exposed skin in combat and outer space

EDIT: I am mainly referring to the combat outfits, casual outfits are ok

EDIT 2: This has nothing to do with being politically correct, as I could care less about that bullcrap. This is about logic and practicality

EDIT 3: If you are going to bring up feminism, Anita Sarkesian, or any of the gamergate, feminism gaming war bullcrap, then please feel free to get the **** off my thread.

Alright Chief, what's funny is that the other thread is talking about sex appeal... then they posted this picture I think it is appropriate here xD

Did anybody complain about Jacob and Thane being "overly sexualized characters!"? About Vega?

There are people talking about Jacob on this very page. James and Thane have also been mentioned before, so what's your point ?

She's indeed not "hyper-sexualized", she's dressed modestly and appropriately, as any good woman ought to be(whether human or not).

Way of moving the goalposts back to 1815.

Yeah because an extremely skin tight T-shirt is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

*shrug* If poses like that upset you guys, you'd flip your *tables* at JoJo.

Or, maybe not, since they're guys.

off topic, but I freaking hate JoJo only because whenever I bet against them in Saltybet I lose. Man are they overpowered. I guess it's better to lose all my salt to a JoJo than a freaking lolli. don't stab me please.

The difference with vega is that his design promotes power and strength - they didn't put nipples on him for example.
Hard to explain but it is more of a 'positive ' sexuality, less leering.

I have to say, as nice as it was to look at Miranda's arse whole ME2 it's ME1 style of armour and inventory I would prefer for future games.

This whole "keep a distinguish style for each character" resulted in stupid situations like Miranda, Liara or Jack running in a face mask only in a fully hostile environment!

It's just silly.

If BW has to do something like that then may it be a DA:I style then.

Over sexualised? I don't mind as long as it doesn't go stupid.

And, most important, he doesn't wear said shirt on combat. He wear a complete professional armour and elmet.

And the tight shirt is representative of his character. He is training constantly and is proud of his physique and muscle. He is flirty too.

He is actually a good example of how the clothes represent something of the character. He isn't a space monk liike a certain Asari with a stricht code who's only goal in life is take down her daughter and live a life of solitude but wearing a antigravity boob window and hight hells...

This topic probably makes it into most games with a 3D avatar, remember seeing it in the Star Citizen forum and others.

Well I am in the Army and your sterotype is not true. Maybe back in the 70s and 80s that might have been true, but when the women I serve with get out of their uniform, let their hair down, and dress up, they look like any other female.

I'm not sure how my personal experience can be "not true.". In any case, it was very true when I was in the military, and later when I got out and became an EMT.

To be fair it's true, many do not. Some have shorter hair, or are caucasian, or asian, or have different color lipstick... or no lipstick at all. Whatever they fancy.

Anyway, I am not in the military but I agree with you. In short, women in the military are people. Many many of them these days dress and act like everyone else.

Here are some actual, IRL soldiers.

Her hair could get her killed or she could catch some nasty disease thanks to that during a war.

Uh-huh. Which is why I said "most IN MY EXPERIENCE."

At no point did I say "all" of the women in the military.

Anyway, this is turning into a massive thread derail.  <_<

Neither the thread title nor the OP single out women. Going by search mentions Jacob is the 3rd most talked about character in this thread. There is literally nobody stopping you from talking about this.
