For real. Mocking Bungie and Destiny.

$60 (Destiny at release) + $35 (Season pass) + $40 (Taken King) + $20 (CE extras) = $155. That's what bungie expects loyal players to pay to keep pace with late adopters who will pay at most $80 for the SAME AMOUNT OF CONTENT.

The DLC we've gotten already is overpriced. It's short, thin and repetitive. Taken King will almost certainty be more of the same. $40 dollars is ridiculous. It's 2\3 of the price of getting the base Taken King edition ($60) that includes Destiny, the season pass, and of course THE TAKEN KING.

The kicker is the level cap and new abilities are only available with The Taken King. To keep pace with those that have the content one way or another, the content is required or you have no chance in PvP.

Done with Destiny when Taken King goes live.

Bungie and Activision have lowered the bar so drastically with Destiny that the entire video game industry might end up like those copies of ET buried in the desert for 40 years.

It's pure greed and they don't even try to hide it or make excuses. I sold my copy of Destiny a week after I got it on launch day. There are much better loot games out there that don't cost nearly as much to play and enjoy with friends.

Borderlands.

I still like the design of Destiny though. I wish someone else would try a big sci-fi game like this, but without the sleazy (and boring) MMO trappings.

I grabbed Destiny when it price dropped with the 2 current DLC, and at this price point, its not bad of a value I think.  Nice way to casually kill some time with my buddies across the country.  That said, there are too many other games out there to pay $40 more to play to keep up game.  Very unlikely I'll pick it up.

Good value? For what exactly?

Repetitive missions? Poorly done MP with extremely few modes? No story? Poor loot system?

The MP is unbalanced and the maps usually are shot gun friendly, which means shotgunners prevail. And everyone uses Thorn or Last Word because they need crutches.

MP also, like mentioned has few modes. I only play on Control, and that's sad. Trials of Osiris brings out everyone's inner scrub and tryhard as well.

The loot system is very ****** poor, but I already have what I need.

HoW's does have a story, but not much... still more than the entire game though, which is pretty damn sad.

Taken King better impress me. It's already asking a lot from me, so it better offer a lot in return, and I'll watch some reviews on it before I decide to buy it, let alone the digital collector's edition.

But as I've stated, Halo 5 comes first and if it interferes, it's a no go. TTK can wait after Halo 5 if need be. And this is coming from a loyal Destiny player.

Chilling out while talking with friends, shooting things, not worrying about life.  Its a casual game with lack luster implementation and shouldn't be considered anything but that.

Its fun when you're in the mood, and the game has some genuinely good ideas.

Plus the driving physics of the sparrows are kind of amazing, they should make a racing game out of it.

Edit: Also, if you are willing to dig into the grimoire cards, there is some fascinating lore.  Shame its going to waste.

The reason the cards are going to waste is because Destiny lacks a Mass effect type codex system that can be accessed in game.

You should never be forced out of the game to understand the story, one of the biggest problems with halo 4, even worse in Destiny.

And meh, even with friends it isnt really fun. Other games supply my friends and I with more fun than pile of crap did. Myself and friends sold it a week or so after purchase.

I definitely agree regarding Destiny. However, I didn't have any issues with Halo 4, I was already plenty invested.

Different folks are looking for different things at different times.  My group finds it entertaining enough for what we paid, and its easy to pick up and put down. That being said, if I had bought it at launch, I likely would have been pissed.

Edit: I also have nowhere near enough time to go through all its content in a week, so that also plays a role in how I perceive the game.

Halo 4 assumed the player had read the books. I personally found that aspect of it enjoyable, but I can see how others would not.

Don't get me wrong, I like it when games refer to the books. Blue team showing up in Halo 5 is going to epic, it's about time they showed up in the games.

My problem with Halo 4, is characters like the Didact were thrown in without much explanation or background and it sucked. Anyone who never read the books would have a hard time trying to figure out what was going on half the time. Thankfully the terminals explained some things.
