Hopes are like a 10/10.  My actual expectation is that it will be anywhere in 6.5-9.0 range.

Noob question here, what's "SJW"?

This sums it up quite nicely:

Social Justice Warrior is a pejorative label applied to bloggers, activists and commentators who are prone to engage in lengthy and hostile debates against others on a range of issues concerning social injustice, identity politics and political correctness. In contrast to the social justice blogosphere at large, the stereotype of a social justice warrior is distinguished by the use of overzealous and self-righteous rhetorics, as well as appealing to emotions over logic.

Basically the laughing stock for the rest of society. You will find them in spades here.

About a 3 right now. I worry about all the pandering Bioware is doing lately. Also exactly who they are listening to when it come to making their games.

It's important to note that these qualities are most frequently expressed around here by the very people who rail against the imagined scourge of SJWs.

Considering the amount of games I actually enjoy; the sort that has a story, a chance to immerse, is not first person or a complete shooter, I'll be happy with anything that Bioware gives that doesn't look like something out of the 1980's.  I'll give it a 9.97 because a 10 would do something to involve VR.  ^_^  B)

Like 5. If it was still in the Milky Way i'd be a lot more excited since i would be returning to a place i love, that plus the fact it's a new studio working on it and there's not much solid info about the game atm i don't really know what to expect.

It might turn out awesome it might not so we'll see. I'm just glad they're taking their time with the game.

Really tough to answer.

DA:2, ME3 & DA:I had me at about a 1 originally as all were such a letdown. Even more concerning is fact that DA:I stayed nearer DA:2 than DA:O - this just showed a complete lack of understanding from Bioware about where they've gone wrong. So from that angle I'm initially thinking "will we get Elder Scrolls ME 2.5?" and just a horrid mess of "new" ideas.

But, the leap to a new galaxy and cowboy explorer idea has given me hope. If Bioware can start a fresh and build ME:A around ME1 then it could be stunning. But on past evidence there's also the worry that they'll totally ignore that approach. At least they've acknowledged the need for a fresh start with this move.

So I'd say I'm at a 3 for the moment. With The Witcher 3's release and reaction I'm hoping that Bioware, and EA, see what ROLEPLAYING adds to a game, and how giving the chaps creating the game freedom creatively motivates and work. As opposed to churning out some formulaic bollocks.

@Slyshades:  Only... everyone is a SJW about something.

I mean, look at all the "decency" folks that pop up enraged about their family values being systematically destroyed.  Of course - that's not the wording they couch their arguments in... but they're here doing the exact same thing the SJW cause-heads do.

There's a thread discussing imperialism on here... you even suggest imperialism was wrong and you can throw those people into a frenzy.

Make this game about hating freedom, liberty, or a million other topics... and you can get those same people who hate SJW's in a frothing rage over their own pet causes.

9 out of 10. Mostly because ME:A is a clean slate in another galaxy so BioWare is not completely beholden to the characters, factions, and events of the trilogy.

7.

Cautiously optimistic. I'm stoked to be getting another Mass Effect game, and I think the Andromeda setting has some potential to be interesting. On other hand I do have some concerns after Dragon Age: Inquisition, and there were a couple details in the leak I wasn't too crazy about.

Based off one trailer? I'd say a cautious but hopeful 4.

Since the Xbox One got backwards compatibility I've been playing ME1 and man do I love this series. The games have gotten progressively worse though (IMO), and while I'll buy ME:A in all of its collectors edition glory, I'm expecting it to be a 6. My sky high expectations for ME:3 are probably why I have such disdain for it.

6 going to 7 I guess? We're apparently going to an entirely new thing now, so it's hard to assume much.

Hopes: 10

Expectations: 4

If it was set in the Milky Way, I would be a bit hyped (but still skeptical). I briefly was.

I think it will be okay, won't love it, won't hate it.

If you would have asked me the question before the release of DA:I I would have said 1 out of 10.

But with DA:I being a decent game and with recent changes in the ME staff (no more Casey Hudson, yaay!) I can say I'm cautiously optimistic about ME:A.

So 6 out of 10.

5 out of 10.

I expect a good enough TPS game with spellcasting much like ME3, but have zero hope or expectation for a decent story or meaningful/tangible choices.

On a pure excitement scale I would say 10/10.

On whether or not I think the game will be good I would say my confidence level is at about an 8.

DAI was a pretty big disappoint and to this day I have yet to see a next gen game that is truly any good.

I'd say 9,5 right now. Could go up to full 10 or down when more info comes available.

I would blame this on the fact that most "next gen" games are just old gen games gussied up with nicer textures. The really good stuff hasn't hit us yet, with a couple of notable exceptions.

I don't think it anything they can do would be as egregiously disappointing as what we have currently.

All Mass Effect games were incredibly awesome and fun, and despite the "sequel" not being set on the Milky Way, I'm very stoked.

9/10.
