Next enemy and map? I guess Darkspawn and Dark roads?

I've seen a bunch of threads about what the next characters should be, but none about the next enemies and map. The last DLC added a map (FC) and an emeny... well, an enemy boss (dragon), but it's still something. I see no reason to think the next DLC (I think there's a beta already being tested) won't do the same.

If that's the case, I guess Darkspawn and Dark Roads are the obvious options. Actually... Darkspawn is pretty much the only option left, isn't it? Or am I forgetting some faction from the DA lore?

*Deep roads. If not in the next DLC they will add it later soon™. Maybe another Hakkon fanatic avvar band

Darkspawn and deep roads would make sense, maybe throw in a warden character. Other option if they want to stick with DA:I stuff would be the Jaws of Hakkon guys, I guess.

I wonder what their time table is for releasing new maps/characters/enemy factions...

I think this is hands down the fans ultimate favorite new setting/faction.

Little has been said about the upcoming DLC other than "we can't talk about it".

However there have been a few hints here and there. All I can speculate based on hints is that there will be possibly:

-A new difficulty.

-A new game mode: either a horde mode or a storm the keep mode.

Hopefully this will be a set of at least 3 new characters and 1 or 2 new maps.

I would personally like to see Deep roads Horde mode with 3 grey warden characters(warrior/mage/rogue).

I would love new units for existing factions too. Atm everybody knows how to play against them and break their formation.

Genlocks, Hurlocks, Shrieks, and Ogres . . . would love to see them, and of course the Darkspawn Emissaries.

Boss could be a broodmother. Of course it wouldn't move around like the others so there could be some new mechanics in the boss fight maybe?

Or, make it an archdemon.  We already have dragons.

They can't do that without destroying the story of the DA universe, since there's only one archdemon per blight.

Warden for the Deep Roads? Screw that... give us Shale... we all know the dwarves are the lords of the deep!

They've already bent the story of the DA universe with Leliana being in DAI.  And there is a way in which it can be done.

If there are no warden characters, Corrupt Old God goes into nearest darkspawn, and then eventually that darkspawn becomes the new archdemon.  So, if we aren't given any warden characters, then the one arch-demon per blight can be intact.  And it's not like there were as many dragons running around Thedas as we've slain in MP.  But, like I said, here is a way to preserve the lore and still allow for existing mechanics to be used.

For a while I hoped for a DLC like ME3: Earth, which had 6 N7 characters on 3 maps on Earth. In a similar vein, the Deep Roads DLC would have 6 Wardens (which is great because they can easily be different races and genders, as well as classes), and some maps (or a map) in the deep roads. I'd hope for the Darkspawn faction to be added and expanded upon too, like they did with the Collectors in ME3.

bosses for the other factions are just Envy, Samson & Calpernia, they may just make a Darspawn boss Cory (but just call him 'commander' like the others).

I'd like to see a Fade level, with a story'd battle vs the Aspect of the Nightmare!

Spoiler

And/or maybe fight Corypheus too.

(since the SP isn't really about the Deep Roads at all, and more about the Fade, that would make more sense for the MP to have a Fade level)

Yeah, physically entering the fade in MP would be cool, and I guess they could find a way of doing it without spoiling the SP story. But most enemies in the fade would still be demons, which we already have. If they are adding a new enemy, I think it has to be Darkspawn. As I said before, apparently there are no other options.

How difficult will it be to implement the Valamar area and the corresponding darkspawn from SP? And put Corypheus as a boss battle...

Exactly, it's time we get some different boss fights. Dragon was a step in that direction.

Spoiler

On a related subject,

I wonder if the designers have to get an ok from David Gaider before inserting these named inquisition soldiers into lore. If they are all canonical and accepted characters in lore, I would love to see some of them make a return in a SP DLC, furute game or possibly a DA comic book.

Or, not physically entering the Fade.

It leaves a lot more options for enemies, and general fun, if your squad is sent there in their dreams.

For whichever reason. I mean seriously, who ever understands anything Leliana wants anyways.

Darkspawn should absolutely be the next enemy faction added. Without question!

There are other options, however. A generic mercenary faction is very possible. The remnants of the Avvar Hakkonites could turn up to harass our agents. Perhaps the Qunari might have an exploratory force in Thedas to investigate the potential threat of Cory and the Inquisition both. Maybe the Chasind might get stirred up by everything going on and start sending out raiding parties. There are other options!
