Or, not physically entering the Fade.

It leaves a lot more options for enemies, and general fun, if your squad is sent there in their dreams.

For whichever reason. I mean seriously, who ever understands anything Leliana wants anyways.

But then the map should not be available for the alchemist and the lego. Physically entering the fade would be the only option for dwarves, but of course, the objection by Texasmotiv above makes perfect sense.

On a related subject,

I wonder if the designers have to get an ok from David Gaider before inserting these named inquisition soldiers into lore. If they are all canonical and accepted characters in lore, I would love to see some of them make a return in a SP DLC, furute game or possibly a DA comic book.

Of course they're canon, they're in singleplayer! They are physically there, as well as have numerous war table missions and Neria narrates a codex for you.

But then the map should not be available for the alchemist and the lego. Physically entering the fade would be the only option for dwarves, but of course, the objection by Texasmotiv above makes perfect sense.

Well, Oghren, Shale, and Varric managed somehow... *shrug* Was there ever a reason given for that? That Sloth forced them into it or something? I don't know about Varric.

Edit: Oh, and the dwarven Warden. I guess it's not so uncommon

Adding a Deep Roads map and a Darkspawn faction seems so... conventional. I want them to add an interesting map to DAMP! The FC (albeit lagtastic with its rampant inconsistent connectivity issues) was a real breath of fresh air. They need to up the ante again.

I like to think that the deep roads are so vast maybe there are new areas we've never seen and darkspawn we've never heard of before. I doubt they would move away from the ease of bland dwarven hallways though

There are massive natural and darkspawn-dug caves that connect to the deep roads as well, and a ruined Thaig is another viable option. Frankly as long as there are darkspawn that look like this06_execution.jpg

and not like this

Or, god forbid, this

Darkspawn have gotten progressively worse looking from game to game. IT MUST STOP!!!!!

I agree, I find myself feeling less threat from them now, wonder if they mutate when they find an Archdemon...nah, that's just a daft idea...

Warden for the Deep Roads? Screw that... give us Shale... we all know the dwarves are the lords of the deep!

Yes! A buddy and I were just talking about this the other day. Shale would be great! I would love to see darkspawn in the deep roads and maybe even fight Branka as the boss. Shale v Branka round 2. Booyah! Make it happen.

Edit: I should point out I'm aware it wouldn't make much sense for Branka to fight alongside darkspawn at the end. I'm imagining fighting through darkspawn to get to Branka and then fighting her and golems - like it was in DA:O. Or maybe fight the Architect from DA:O Awakening as the boss with darkspawn.

As for what our 3 new hero characters could be well you could easily bring back Oghren, Sigrun & Valena.

I know that it's been said before that we won't have characters that 'could be dead' but these 3 technically aren't (unless one does some assuming) because first of, Sigrun & Valena don't have any mention in the DA Keep at all & Nathaniel is the only one from Awakening that has a keep option to be dead (before the end of DA2), add onto that, that if you saved Vigil's Keep then all the Fereldan Wardens (save Nathaniel if you executed him) survive anyway & if you didn't save the keep then the 3 Wardens you took with you on the final mission survive.

Just my thoughts.

Oghren for MP, yes please. The banter alone would be worth it.

Well they do cast magic, it just doesn't come from the Fade so it'd have to be different. I don't think we saw any emissaries in SP though, did we?

I know Lore wise that emissaries can draw on both normal and taint based magic techniques, but i really don't see why they would use a book charged with bound spirits to cast spells.
Its a bit like seeing Hakkonite spellbinders in the SP. They should have carried a skull or something.

Also you're right, there are no emissaries in the SP.

I didn't know Oghren and Shale entered the fade in that DA:O mission, and I hadn't thought about the dwarven warden. But it looks like a big plot hole, doesn't it?

I also didn't remember Varric could enter the fade in DA2 during Night Terrors. I guess in all of these missions I just removed the dwarves from the team out of logic. I thought the game wouldn't let you use them. They should have made some "magical" excuse for the dwarven warden in DA:O and not let you use dwarven companions in those missions.

Enemies: Hakkonites

Commander boss: Gurd Harofsen (Revenant with extra AI abilities, like AoE cold blast or teleport)

Map: Ice map

Assuming they're reusing assets from the DLC (like the Avvar)

There's certainly some inconsistency here because also Oghren, Sigrun & a Dwarven warden enter the fade in Awakening too. Add onto that that Dwarves apparently don't dream, according to both Oghren & Varric, yet a Dwarven Inquisitor manages to find & converse with Solas through a dream & even the Alchemist says that she once dreamed of a giant fluffy nug, can't remember if Lego mentions about dreaming or not.

But according to lore, Dwarves have no connection with the fade & are able to resist magic...

In DA:2 We see them in the rescue the dwarves mission in Chapter 2.  It was a lot of fire magic.  In DA:O you encountered them all time (first time is during the quest to recover the treaties on the bridge).  And of course you could recruit them in the Darkspawn Chronicles expansion.

Oh yes, they were all over the place in previous games. Darkspawn aren't connected to the Fade/don't dream (except the hive mind arch demon 'dream') so their fire and shadow spells are fueled by the Taint, which is also why they don't have restorative/white magic nice try brain this isn't true.

I agree it would be silly for a darkspawn to carry a book of spells around... But I would love to see some emissaries burning us up and dropping some nasty debuffs and dots.

The architect says in DA: The Calling that they don't have healing magic because they don't need it. The taint gives them incredible self-regenerative abilities, so they never bothered to learn, focusing on destructive magic instead.

Oh ok, thanks :) I need to reread that anyway! I've spent so much time talking to a friend about lore and coming up with tinfoil hat theories that I sometimes forget what's canon and what just sounded good in my head :P
