Can we get weekly login figures please Mr Devs ?

I would be interested in seeing how many unique ID's log in each week per format.

I am on PS4 and play every day.

Working off the weekend challenges (and how fast the stars increase) it doesn't seem like many people are playing at all.  Eyeballing is never a reliable way to gauge anything.... so pretty please?

EDIT: Even the mighty DragonRacer has moved on (or maybe temporarily taking a break)

add me to that break list.

i spent 45 minutes trying to play this game last night and got 3 infinite joining loops requiring restart. a couple crashes to PS4 homescreen. and during that whole time I only saw 5 other gamertags in perilous public games. I didnt get to complete a single entire match.

i'm back out for awhile. Valdis Story is providing an interesting diversion for now

I quit playing for a period of months.  I came back when the class chests came out.  I'm getting extremely close to calling it quits again as well.  This game just doesn't have the stuff ME was made out of.

Theres no way they would ever release those numbers.

It would be embarrassing.

It would either show that no one is playing (which would be discouraging).

Or it would show that plenty of people are playing (and region lock/platform aparteid is keeping the community fragmented, which would be discouraging).

It's a lose-lose. I don't think we will see these numbers.

As long as there are enough for 1 full lobby for me there are enough players.

I wish that platform manufacturers weren't so draconian when it comes to discouraging cross-platform co-op. It'd be a real boon for games with (relatively) small communities like this.

Of course, the technical challenges might be difficult with games that are peer-to-peer (like DAMP) rather than server-hosted. I doubt that's an insurmountable problem, though. You'd think that a company like EA could figure that out once and then use that implementation (with some adaptations) across all of their relevant games.

As for competitive multiplayer, that might provoke discussions of input scheme fairness, so that might be not worth doing, but what's the harm in co-op?

The Xbox Live platform has been doing cross platform gameplay for years.

Fable: Legends will be one of the first games in recent memory to include it again however, so prehaps we will finally see it take off as a real thing.

Watch out attaching apartheid to anything, it landed Deus Ex in a mess real fast.

My anecdotal platform activity ranking based on weekend challenge thread observations:

1a. PS4: still largest - but in decline

1b. PC: this player base is solid - it doesn't go up, but doesn't go down (i dunno why - lots of loyal players, i guess).  PC will overtake PS4.

....

....

2. xbox1 - in rapid decline.  this is where PS4 is heading.

3. ps3 - another solid player base - it's small, but doesn't really decline too much.

4. xbox360 - do people play on this platform?

I'm sort of on a break (community imposed, not by choice). Just about everyone I play with on X1 jumped ship to play ESO. The couple that didn't have either just vanished from the game or moved on to something else due to frustration at the RNG. I've tried PUGing and soloing but both get frustrating or boring real fast for multiple reasons.

Ps4 in mega rapid decline.
Now that ESO is finally working, everybody left searching for the new shiny.

Got tired of game crashing on zone 5 so often, and Narnia, and neverending joining game garbage. At least ESO let's me log in and doesn't regularly kick me to lobby. Last weekend was just the icing on the no xp shitcake.

EDIT: Even the mighty DragonRacer has moved on (or maybe temporarily taking a break)

Temporary break. I do not see myself entirely abandoning DAIMP any time soon.

Not prior to Nov. 10th, at any rate. After that, I have to apologize in advance, but there may be no prying me out of the post-apocalyptic wasteland for a long, long time. Reality of the situation.

Meanwhile, player numbers will never be released. I remember folks being curious back during ME3MP, too, and any thread asking about it got shut down pretty quick. Not shut down as in locked, but rather a BW employee would usually step in and inform that such information was not something they'd even be allowed to reveal anyway even if they wanted to... and they weren't inclined to want to disclose it anyway, so nope.

Why would they not be allowed? Plenty of games (most I know of) display the user count online.

Possibly for the same reasons they're so mum on DLC and such these days. Corporate policy or expansion of what falls under NDA or whatnot is my assumption.

I do not know the exact reason since I, sadly, don't work there.

It just seems... totally unrelated to NDAs about DLC etc. The devs seem so paranoid these days. Either that, or unable to handle any criticism.

Edit: I'm not saying a playercount is necessary, but if they can't even tell us for odd legal reasons, I think that's a bit far.

Seriously though.  If you see me online, just send me a message.

I'm working my way through Ruins gold challenge at the moment though running threatening (590,000/1,000,000),  and Duelist almost done *cough* wheres my banner.

It's not the fastest exp but it is consistent.  Banners/Gold is my priority.  Hording 370k currently

Family and work also :(

I've still seen you online occasionally, so can't always play during the day at weekends.  It's why I stay up fairly late during the week.

As a side note, I've just been to Dragonage Age HQ for the first time in a while and my gold suggests I've played just over 1800 games.  Holy mother of god.  My name is Silversmurf and I have an addiction....

I think it's more like asking what color their netherhair is. No matter what the answer, everyone will be uncomfortable.

A few of my friends are on it, but they weren't DAMP players (think they were Final Fantasy and Souls/BBers).

Personally i've all-but given up after the 47 Perilous Dragon runs, to get a Maul from the Victory Chest.  As someone that fought to max my ME3MP manifest,  RNGgod has beaten me...

I check on Friday to see how annoying the event is, and sometimes login to bash one out.  But yeah, unless they pull out some DLC, the disc stays in the cupboard now :(
