Just curious what people want this game to have for their new squaddies. Feel free to be as detailed(or not) as you like. And don't feel like you need to rely on already-released information. I know I won't. Why should we let little things like 'facts' get in the way of our wish-listing?

Me, I'm hoping for 8 squadmates. Whether one or more is DLC, I honestly don't care. I've never had an issue with DLC companions.

1: A (preferably female)Krogan. A Mass Effect doesn't feel complete without a Krogan squaddie. It was a shortfall of ME3 until the Citadel DLC brought back Wrex. Bakara was an awesome window into the experience of a female Krogan. Let's have another one, but make her more of a hands-on kind of character who really gets involved in the fight.

2. A male Quarian. If ME:A is following this "Ark" story where all the people on this ship are supposed to be the last of their kind, I think the quarians would have a small but skilled delegation that is in charge of maintenance and upkeep of the ship and its experimental tech. This guy could be a leader among them, and maybe less of a techie. More of a soldier like Kal-Reeger.

3. An Asari biotic. Gotta have this one. Not sure how to make her unique compared to Liara and Samara, but I'm sure Bioware can and will find a way. Maybe make her a heavily-scarred mercenary, taking away the beauty that asari always seem to have and giving her a less altruistic attitude, which Liara and Samara both had. We know there are asari who are tough, selfish antagonists. Let's finally get one on our team for a change.

4. A Female turian or drell. This is mostly for my romance wishlist. I love the turians and the drell, and I'm a straight man. I'd like to see a non-Tali alien to romance. I've been wanting to romance a female turian since ME1, so I'm really hoping Bioware brings one around. I'm hoping for a female drell as well as I love their racial concept and story. I doubt I'm going to get both, so I'll be more than happy to settle for one or the other.

5. Male human non-soldier. We have a lot of male human squadmates, but up till now they have all had a military background. Starting with Kaidan, going through Jacob, Zaeed and James, all of our human male squaddies have had a Alliance Military background. Let's have a male human biotic-scientist with transhumanist pathos like Miranda, or a damaged soul like Jack or just a ruthless assassin like Thane. I'm getting tired of the "male human soldier" schtick for our male human companions.

6. A stowaway. I don't care about race or gender, but I'd like to see someone on board this "Ark" who is not supposed to be there. A wildcard who has to earn their place on the crew and who everyone mistrusts. After all, this ship wasn't meant to hold more than was designed. This person would be taking up resources that were meant for the original crew. This is not a person the rest of the crew is going to like.

7. A cyborg human, asari, drell or turian. Let's have a very tech-based cyborg soldier. Maybe have this person require an AI in order to function at peak efficiency, giving him/her an alternate viewpoint at times.

8. Someone from an entirely new culture/race in Andromeda, totally unconnected to the Milky Way. I'll just let Bioware do the rest.

Well, I was thinking of light make up. Some lipstick, some eyeliner... that's enough. We're in combat after all, there's no need for perfect make up. Perhaps save that for a mission in civilian attire.

We've had an Asari biotic in every game of the Trilogy. We can definitely take a breakfrom that. Explore biotic side of some other races.

All I want is a female turian (long overdue).
A batarian, also long overdue.
And a female Krogan.

The rest of the crew doesn't bother me. (As long as they aren't mostly human)

Just curious what people want this game to have for their new squaddies. Feel free to be as detailed(or not) as you like.

All I'm interested in is having a limited choice of squadmates of maybe 5 to 7 that are better rounded for combat and are more interesting to dialogue with. I'm replaying the trilogy and I kinda prefer the number for ME1 as with an exception of Tali, everybody got a decent rotation. ME2 however I kept going back to the same two for combat, and had too many people to talk to. ME3 kinda meets in the upper scale.

Basically I need:

-A spiritual successor to Garrus with less Calibrations in any of the listed below characters (Even an undead Garrus will do):

-Turian (Like Nyreen)

-Krogran

-Salarian STG

-Any Human preferably Alliance Navy

-New Andromeda Race from X Star Cluster (Basically the intention [Read: Intention] of James Vega for ME3 [Explanatory])

-Surprise me as long as its not a Quairan/Geth/Hanar/Vorcha/Yahg/Raloi/Elcor/EDI. Well maybe maybe the Raloi if the Ark Theory is to be believed, but they were likely wiped out by the Reapers.

I think the main council races should be involved, but not necessarily as main squad mates. Bring a guest from time to time on specific missions. Maybe they live or die based on performance/decisions. After all "Andromeda is the Wild West of the universe." TM

That was a joke.

1) Human - Female - Infiltrator
2) Human - Male - Adept
3) Asari - Female - Sentinel
4) Krogan - Female - Soldier
5) Turian - Male - Vanguard
6) Newbie A - Female - Engineer

I like to imagine it's a biotic female Salarian running the whole thing, though.  (Salarian's are my favorite.)

Turian and a Quarian. One a total bro, the other a total sis. Doesn't matter which one's which, although it's more likely the Turian would be a woman, and the Quarian a man this time around. Because, y'know, switch it out a bit from Garrus and Tali?

I know that these ideas have probably been said a thousand times, but this is mostly the things that I'd want as far as squad goes.

1. A Vorcha Infiltrator / Engineer. Preferably more based on destruction than the average infiltrator. I never really cared much for the Vorcha, but this stupid idea has gotten into my head. My basic idea is that it's either a demolitions expert or some sort of bomb-disposal specialist who is really bad at his job. Of the *practical* races (i.e. not Hanar and Elcor), the Vorcha are probably the most under-represented species (perhaps even more than the Batarians). Smarter than the average Vorcha, but not by much. More friendly though, perhaps. This is probably the least likely squadmate / companion that anybody could possibly come up with, but hey.

2. A Male Quarian. Hopefully not an all-out tech guy, but equally I don't want him to be a Kal'Reegar clone (awesome as Kal'Reegar was). Quarian's are easily my favourite race. Hopefully, at the very least, a Quarian crew-member on the ship.

3. A Different Asari. Perhaps less focussed on Biotics, probably a Soldier or Vanguard (or Commando). I used to like Liara, and Samara was kind of cool, but I want something vastly different from the ones we've had before. I'd love to have an Asari who is a bit of a jerk or perhaps an all-out cynic.

4. A Batarian. Just to give them a little justice after being the Galaxy's villains since they were introduced. I honestly don't mind if they are a former pirate or slaver, even if it doesn't do their people any favours as far as being represented goes. A female Batarian would be extra cool, and based on the other ideas, it would probably be best to have this as one of the Biotics of my line-up (which isn't happening anyway, but hey.)

5. A New Race Guy. Something like an Envoy or a Tour Guide, who shows you around the galaxy. Probably annoyingly upbeat and quirky, or completely ignorant of all the terrible things their people have committed over the years, which probably don't gel with the Council-centric morality of the other races.

As far as the rest goes, I just want things that are different. Would be cool to see female Turians, Drell and Salarians. Would also be cool to see a game with less human characters. If the game only has seven squadmates, I would like for the crew and other major characters to be as fleshed out and made up of more non-humans.

If quarians did rebuild Rannoch and were able to shed their enviro-suits over time, I'd like to see a beautiful quarian female. Yeah, the mystery of Tali's face was a great story element, still....  Also want to hear how things worked out for the quarians on their homeworld. Did some remain nomads and couldn't adjust to an agro society on Rannoch? I could see a quarian as a demolitions and bomb-diffuser expert, who makes inventive booby-traps. MacGyver-esque, maybe? Their talent lies in guile, stealth, and ambush for their combat worthiness. They defeat the enemy by outwitting them. A tactician and survivalist who can make something out of nothing: the typical quarian trait, scavaging for resources and can see potentential in what others dismiss as useless. Clever, etc. Gives the protagonist tactical options.

Certainly a new race individual, or couple (but this might be over-crowding the ship). I hope it's not the cliche "I've been outcast from my people, so I'll help you."

Would anyone accept a geth? Maybe one who tells quarian-geth jokes?

I loved watching Garrus and Shepard shooting skeet. The close buddy, if well written, is always a great story element.

Female Salarian STG with soldier/Tech/Biotic mix. Not a scientist. Loved Mordin's versions of Gilbert and Sullivan lyrics from the H.M.S. Pinafore.

If there is a stow-away, it better not be Dr. Zachary Smith from 'Lost in Space.'

There's a traitor on-board. The protagonist will need cunning to expose him/her.

Someone who isn't politically correct; speaks their mind. They may be insensitive, but have a big heart. Just when you think you've figured them out, they go and do something you didn't expect.

  1. Batarian ex-slaver (redemption?)
  2. Krogan officer of some kind (think Wrex but younger, less jaded)
  3. Asari soldier (no-nonsense boot camp personality but with a heart of gold)
  4. Human thief (more modern hacker-thief than ninja)
  5. Human researcher
  6. Turian military officer
  7. an AI (preferably a Geth but I could go for a fembot as long as its the partial romance of the game)

I will include non-Companion Advisors to form a full "inner Circle" of 12 People here, as I think that number worked very well in DA:I.

I will furthermore split it down into "Gameplay" Roles and Race then put them together to my Liking at the End.

Gameplay Roles

Character 1 should be a melee-oriented Companion with a Focus on drawing Enemy Fire to themselves and Survivabilty. I would have them be Equipment-based.

Character 2 should be a melee-oriented Companion with a Focus on Subterfuge and high Damage Spikes. I would have them be Tech-based.

Character 3 should be a melee-oriented Companion with a Focus on melee Combat and overcoming Defenses. I would have them be a Biotic.

Character 4 should be a non-combative Advisor, advocating aggressive Tactics and direct Confrontation. I would have them be the Pilot of the Ship.

Character 5 should be a range-oriented Companion with a Focus on drawing Enemy Fire to themselves and Survivabilty. I would have them be a Biotic.

Character 6 should be a range-oriented Companion with a Focus on Subterfuge and high Damage Spikes. I would have them be Equipment-based.

Character 7 should be a range-oriented Companion with a Focus on ranged Combat and overcoming Defenses. I would have them be Tech-based.

Character 8 should be a non-combative Advisor, advocating subtle Tactics and underhanded Confrontation. I would have them be the Medic on the Ship.

Character 9 should be a support-oriented Companion with a Focus on reducing Damage taken and increasing Suvivability. I would have them be Tech-based.

Character 10 should be a support-oriented Companion with a Focus on Subterfuge and incresing Damage dealt. I would have them be a Biotic.

Character 11 should be a support-oriented Companion with a Focus on heavy Weapons and overcoming Defenses. I would have them be Equipment-based.

Character 12 should be a non-combative Advisor, advocationg peaceful Tactics and avoiding Confrontation. I would have them be the Player Character's Yeoman.

So far, so confusing, but I'm not even getting started. Ready for Races?

Character 1 is best imagined as a Krogan, as without them, a Crew feels just lacking. I would prefer male Krogan, as a female is less likely to leave Tuchanka behind.

Character 2 is best imagined as a Human, as they are the third most robust Race, which is necessary in the Melee. I would pick him as the roguish Romance Option.

Character 3 is best imagined as a Turian, as they are one of the more robust Races and we didn't see their Biotics yet. I would like her to be a romanceable Female.

Character 4 is best imagined as a Drell, since that Race, too, must not be underutilized. I would like her to be Female, but not romanceable in that Case.

Character 5 is best imagined as a Human, as I think, we should have at least one more "relatable" Biotic in the Crew. I would pick her as the romanceable Poster-Girl.

Character 6 is best imagined as a Salarian, as we sorely lack a Member of the STG amongst our Crew. I think, it would be interesting if he was a romanceable Male.

Character 7 is best imagined as a Volus, as we have seen little of that very interesting Race and I'd like to see their martial Side explored, as well as their Females.

Character 8 is best imagined as an Asari, as they can't possibly not be a Part of our Crew in a Mess Effect Game. I also like the Angle of a romanceable Medic.

Character 9 is best imagined as a Quarian, as they, too, have been a Staple in our Crew. For a Change, I would like to see and romance one of their Males now.

Character 10 is best imagined as a Human, as my Intention to have an older Character is best visualized on them. I would have him be male, but not romanceable.

Character 11 is best imagined as a Batarian Female, which is something we have never seen before and I am interested in the romantic Angle on that one.

Character 12 is best imagined as a Human Male, since we didn't have had a male Yeoman. Of course, in the Tradition of Yeomans, he should be a Romance Option.

So in the End, who do I have?

Character 1: Krogan Male, not romanceable. Robust Melee. Equipment-based. I would give a reasonable Disposition, leaning towards Combat.

Character 2: Human Male, romanceable. Subtle Melee. Tech-based. I would give him a cynical Disposition, leaning towards Subterfuge.

Character 3: Turian Female, romanceable. Versatile Melee. Biotic. I would give her an idealistic Disposition, leaning towards Diplomacy.

Character 4: Drell Female, not romanceable. Non-combative. Pilot. She is advocating Combat and should Display a reasonable Disposition.

Character 5: Human Female, romanceable. Robust Range. Biotic. I would give her a reasonable Disposition, leaning towards Subterfuge.

Character 6: Salarian Male, romanceable. Subtle Range. Equipment-based. I would give him an idealistic Disposition, leaning towards Combat.

Character 7: Volus Female, not romanceable. Versatile Range. Tech-based. I would give her a cynical Disposition, leaning towards Diplomacy.

Character 8: Asari (Female), romanceable. Non-combative. Medic. She is advocating Subterfuge and should display an idealistic Disposition.

Character 9: Quarian Male, romanceable. Survival Support. Tech-based. I would give him a reasonable Disposition, leaning towards Diplomacy.

Character 10: Human Male, not romanceable. Subterfuge Support. Biotic. I would give an idealistic Disposition, leaning towards Subterfuge.

Character 11: Batarian Female, romanceable. Heavy Weapons. Equipment-based. I would give her a cynical Dispotion, leaning towards Combat.

Character 12: Human Male, romanceable. Non-combative. Yeoman. He is advocation Diplomacy and should display a cynical Disposition.

Asari Infiltrator - Carries a M-98 Widow or your favorite shotgun. She's a Commando. Deconstruction of the blue space babe. Total cynic and isn't afraid to speak her opinion. Cusses. Also is attractive and is a Romance Option. Will be appreciative of gifts like weapons and armor upgrades. Must be voiced by a contralto like Claudia Black.

Female Turian Cabal. (not a romance option) - whatever class Nyreen was with the modifications for ME:Andromeda

Salarian Engineer (not a romance option)

Krogan Sentinel (not a romance option)

Human Vanguard (female) - romance option (bi)

Human Soldier (male) - romance option (bi)

Andromedan Alien squadmate Adept. (male and similar to human, romance option and bi)

Sorry about the lack of quarians, but we here at Bioware take your choices seriously and you could have killed the Quarians on Rannoch. Also the Batarians are toast, although I really liked their voicing in the trilogy.

Male Human

Female Human

Female Turian

Asari

Insert New Race - male

Insert New Race - female

I feel it's pretty much set in stone we'll get at least two humans, a male and female.  We'll probably also get humans as advisers or non combat ship mates, for romance reasons.  No way ME:A does not give each "side" a human romance option.

The Asari, I also feel is almost a guarantee.

Female Turian, out of all race/sex combinations of previous races, it's the only one I want to see as a companion.

Now on to the new races, just want to see something new here.  I don't want to see our new squad just end up being reverses of previous squad mates, I know I asked for female Turians but that's just one.  If our squad is Female Turian, Male Quarian, Female Krogan, just doesn't sound as interesting as something new.

Also keeping in mind Krogans and Quarians can be close to being totally wiped out at the end of Mass Effect 3.
