Well mb femshep should have some muscles?

Well, that would surely be a way to make up to reusing the male animations  Seriously though, just make diferent animations for the genders, it can't really make the development cost that higher.

Being a woman, I don't have a problem playing male in many RPGs nor do I have a problem reading a book with male perspectives. I think playing as a different gender is an RP experience by itself. But weirdly enough, I do find there's a lot of people who find its inconceivable and abhorrent to play as a female character. Maybe its understandable since female space marine in gaming are rare unlike male space marines (Master Chief etc). Plus, Shepard represent the best of humanity. I think some find its hard to believe a woman would achieve such recognition.

I really hate DA2's female running animations. At least, I could mod it. But I don't expect fictional female soldiers to act with exaggerated masculinity just to show that she's tough as the rest of the guys.

As for wanting a more muscular version of a female character, even in ME2, she do have some muscle definition in her arms. I do like the buff FemShep mod for ME3 but I like her the way she is. I don't think she needed to bulk up just to look like she's strong than the rest especially since all soldiers in ME verse was physically enhanced by implants.

And that's precisely my point. She doesn't need to be like Brienne from GOT to look tough. But she uses the same animations as the buff male Shepard, witch looks weird on her.

And sorry for the double post >_<

No don't make different animations. Make the same animations that match both. Make body proportions nearly identical for both genders.

That's the easy (not to say lazy) way out. Sure, I like more lean male bodies thus I liked broshep more in ME1, but we both know they won't do it. the male char will be big and muscular - we can see it clearly from the concept arts -  because thats what is commercially appealing these days. So making different animations for the genders is the way to go. No need to make the female animations super girly though, just don't reuse the male ones because they WILL look weird.

If they will make different animations the female animations will be ''super girly'' because that is also commercially appealing..

And unfortunately, the bigger the male PC looks, the bigger everyone looks, since the body models will likely be largely identical. This was especially glaring with Joker, who by all rights should have been the leanest of all, since he can't even lift.

Oh my yes <_< I love joker, but his model aways bothered me. How someone with brittle bone disease got that big it's a mystery. I think this time bioware should let us choose the bodytype of our PC... Skyirm and a lot of games do that, It shouldn't be that hard.

I always hold out for hope a little that BioWare will finally diversify the character models a little bit. Even just cycling through like 4 different kinds for human NPC's would make all the difference. With aliens it doesn't matter. They all look the same to us anyway.

I don't get why Joker didn't just receive a pair of artificial legs in ME day and age.

Yep, even the TOR did pretty good in this regard.

And I don't have a problem with that, I like the animations of females in DA. I know some people don't like it, but maybe they can make these animations along with diferent bodytypes as a choice in the CC to? Make a girly or a tough girl? A macho man or a more sensible one? They already started doing this in DA:I with the two voice options for the genders. If they did this I would personally love it, the more customizable the PC is the better.

Eh...

Games like Inquisition I did a lot of different characters, male and female. For Mass Effect, my main was always male Shepard. I did two playthroughs, male and female though, was well worth it.

My canon character will always be male, but im perfectly happy to play as a female character. Unlike some idiots I dont find it "impossible" to connect with female charaters, if I couldnt I wouldnt love Samus Aran so much. So yes, male main/canon character, but definitely play as the female version on alt play throughs.

I generally go Female play through then Male play through.

I prefer playing as females though.

I will most probably play as a guy, as I always play as a male character in games like this.

My brother always plays as a female character so I asked him why.  He said, 'you spend most RPG's running to this place or that, why would I want to stare at a male ass?'  I laughed very hard.  As a female, you get used to playing most games as a male character so I play both.  A good RPG gives me different love interest dialog for the different genders.  I love a good story!

Primarily female; if the voice acting for the male version is competent, then I'll give it a shot. If it is like Mark Meer, I'll probably skip playing through as a male.

Just please, make the female character look appealing.... Or at least give us some good character creation, then I will play female.. I usually play as a female in most games. But I couldn't get past how bad the female shep looked, and I was way too lazy to figure out how to mod the game.

Well i usually play male first (in any and all games) but i guess i might start with female first for a change. the actors got huge shoes to fill because hale and meer raised the bar high.

Even if you didn't like the default Shepard, couldn't you have made your own with the CC? What do you need mods for?

Male is the default for me.

might play the female eventually. Maybe.

But if they use Jennifer Hale again, then forget it. Couldn't/can't stand her voice.

Most likely Male, but I can play Female characters aswell, but I usualy feel a stronger Connection to male characters and if I decide to play around with the in-game romances it makes the most sense to me.

Female characters can be great though, so I can't say for certain. It all depends on how it turns out. Might very well play both for the sake of content even if it's mostly the same.
