The sex of the best voice actor will be the sex of my character. If that is male i will play male if it is female I will play female. With story based RPGs I get more out of the game with a better voice actor.

My 1st character will be female because i like to roll-play a "kind of" self-insert character in my 1st playthrought. I always play multiple playthroughs in Bioware games, most of which with female characters, but i always make one or two male characters.

Female. I hope the voice actor will be the same, Jennifer Hale did an amazing job.
For multiplayer I'd enjoy to play as a Krogan male tank, i had a lot of fun with it on ME3.

I always play female. Don't know why, i can better immerse into a game with a female protagonist.
An asian themed one as main, if that's possible.
Vanguard and/or Soldier most of the time.

I roll as my gender so male it is but I will definitely make more females, unlike the trilogy where I have 2 females versus 10+ males. But it will depend mainly on the voice actors, armors and LI. In any case they are always biotics, just like their counterparts in DA are always mages.

i play females in any game that allows it, especially 3rd person games.
for the simple opinion i would rather look at a females backside the entire game rather than a dudes.
for me it has nothing to do with immersion, feeling the story more, or a strong female lead.
guess im just shallow like that.

Female first, as always. After that, we'll see if a male play through is warranted. With the ME trilogy, not only did I prefer Hale's voice acting, she IS Shepard for me, so that was 'difficult' on the one full Sheploo play through I did do.

Try to finish the game as your gender then start a new play-through with the opposite.

Eh I like her work, but I'd really like someone new. Just so long as it's not Traynor

Both. I don't role play a character, I always role play an idea.

Hmmm..... if the VA isn't Meer (or anyone who sound like him) and if the CC for male is decent.... I would play as male. The game force you to watch your main character interact with everyone, I like watching a beautiful girl kick ass than spending a hundred hours playing an expressionless regurgitated frog

Once tried to make a maleshep look like me, and ended up with a middle aged filipino instead. I would've had as much luck making a femshep that looked like me.

Probably male, unless I'm sold on the female VA (like I am with Fallout 4).

The one time I tried to make a maleShep that looks like the real me I ended up with a Shepard that looked Eurasian with some Mongoloid mixed in. I'm none of that in real-life.
My girlfriend told me my Shepard looked more like Keanu Reeves than me, lol.
I had more luck when I tried to make a femShep that looked like my girlfriend.

For me it is always male, as I just have to play what I am as I also associate with that as well. It just seems a lot of the cool characters end up being female that I am naturally drawn to, like Fury and Valkyrie who are my fave, just wish they looked like the Slayer.

I usually play both. In ME however, after my first playthrough, female Shepard was cemented firmly as my canon Shepard and all my attempts at playing as a male just looked so wrong and I would delete it soon after Eden Prime. I guess I grew overly attached to Hale's voice. I'm hoping the VAs will deliver in Andromeda as well. She's going to be female Infiltrator, if possible (by far my favorite class combo).
ps: Was the SJW disclaimer really necessary? I mean, how is playing what you want in a RPG social justice agenda & somehow negative? Please, it's insulting...

I enjoy playing both but yeah lately I've been enjoying creating kick ass girls in my games.Or at least those that allow you to play both ways. Although I am male and I do enjoy playing male characters too it's nice to take a break from the norm. Was going to go for another femshep on my next run of the trilogy when I play as well. Still have to finish my male Shep first though.
