Both. I always like to play through a second time with a different voice actor and different decisions. A new genders an easy way to keep it more fresh. I understand why people stick to one of the sexes but, as I don't see the character as an avatar of myself, they're missing out imo.
Will you play as M or F?

yeah same here my first playthrough tends to be choices I would make but after that I let the character and their personalities make the choices.

But seriously, I can play either gender in game. I'm more than likely not going to really relate to the character either way. That and I like strong female protagonists.

Eventually I know that I will have multiple plays with both.
At this point, knowing so little about the game, I am unable to say which one will be my first.
When I first played DAO1, I tried all Chapter 0 available (the origin stories) before deciding on my race, gender and class in order to truly play the game till the end.
I guess I will do the same with MEA. Create at least 3 males and 3 females spread across the six classes available (I mean, there are still 6 classes, right?), toy around with each of them for one hour or two, then resetting everything and starting fresh with my class of choice.
One advantage of this aproach is that by the time I decide (my seventh time creating a character, and fourth in that gender) I will be really good at using the character creation toolset.

Let me start off by saying that personally I HATE just about anything SJW related and the entire state of the world we live in with females pushing for representation in which it has been proven that they are around 50% of the demographic. I want to keep my male privilege, damnit!
Fixed that for you, OP.

Depends on the VA and how the dialogue options are going to be. Definitely looking forward to the return of space-****** though, now 100% more malicious.

Also, I think I'll recreate my old Shepards there, as if they were some kind of distant "reincarnated" descendants...

Female for sure, but if male will have a good VA, then I'll play as him as well. I couldn't listen to Male Hawke's voice in DA2, so I hope this time VA will be better. If not, I won't be sad at all.

Female since when I can make a female protagonist, I make one, since I find it easier for me to put myself in their shoes since I'm also a woman. I do play with male protagonists though, time to time.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. I wish an NPC would go "You remind me of someone I read about".

I actually liked M!Hawke's voice, though I still prefer Wyatt. Another little niggle is that Boulton voiced that immense bastard Kendells.

I tried to play as M!Hawke several times, but he's acting was... well, not my taste maybe. Wyatt was way, way better. Tho I loved Mark Meer as Shepard.

I guess we're in totally different camps on that one. I like every other character Meer voices, except for M!Shep. I've only completed 1 playthrough with him.

Yeah, not everyone likes his acting, tbh. But the funny thing is: I didn't like Fem Inky's VA's. Don't get me wrong. Alix Wilton Regan is a great voice actor, but she didn't really fit as main character for a game, imo. And the second female voice was... too... deep? Can't say a word about male's VA, since I played Inquisition once. After that, the game bored the **** outta me.

Hi, I'm a SJW. as an SJW I'm a gullible fool that slings around buzzwords and conspiracy theories without really understanding them!
I actually believe that male game developers and male players are in a giant conspiracy to prevent women (or non whites or gays) from participating in their gaming hobby. Not only that, but I've been convinced by obvious rhetoric and propaganda that all male players (except me if I'm male, obviously) participate in this conspiracy because not having women represented gives them some sort of tangible benefit or 'privilege' I have no idea what privilege is or how it applies to game development or the enjoyment of games, but I use it anyway because it sounds good and lets me feel smug and superior to everyone else on the internet who isn't me.
I've been brainwashed so completely that I readily buy into the notion that there is some sort of tangible benefit provided to male game players that they desperately don't want to share or they will lose it. Whatever that may be.
Finally I lack the self awareness to understand that my behaviour detailed above is why people don't like SJW's like me. I prefer to think that its because I"m some champion of justice fighting against the so called evil male conspiracy, and anyone who disagrees with my behaviour is clearly out to oppress women (or non whites or gays), because that lets me post smug self righteous nonsense on the internet and imagine I'm doing some good in the world instead of adding to the bigotry.
Fixed that for you ![]()
*sigh* ok that may have been a little mean. I don't understand the OP's motivations but He's clearly saying he's happy with there being an option to play a female character, so accusing him of 'not wanting to lose his privilege' is absurd.
