Probably Female, because I feel like the customization is better on female PC over males. I can't create a good male character but if the voice actors are good ones than I will probably play both. Of course I might try and play the one that has the better voice acting ![]()
Will you play as M or F?

I've always played as a female first then male if I played through again
that won't change

Male first, as I always do. If there is any significant difference between female and male then I might play as a female (and most likely be renegade/evil).

I don't play a woman in most Bioware games because they almost always interact differently. DAI finally made women feel natural (minus the exaggerated animations), so it's the only game of theirs where I'm truly comfortable playing as a female character. Mass Effect feels like a slog to get through as FemShep, for the same reason why I'd never play the first two Dragon Age games as a woman.
Sorry for any typos or the lack of my usual emphasis, but I'm on my phone.

Silly first post, but I will play male ^^ Always pick male for RPGs when I can design my character and there are m/m romances... no m/m romances and I'd probably play female, but not enjoy it as much or at all. Although... with ME it's just so good I can still play my preferred male and just ignore romance altogether.

Both.
First time around, the default gender, followed by the opposite gender with my 2nd playthrough. Third time around, I customized my protagonist.
At least I hope to do so.
Just read about the very poor PC port of Batman: Arkham Knight. A really horrible console port.

Gamespot was practically gushing about the game but never mentioned on which platform the reveiw was made for. The comments, however, showed tha gamers were not fooled. All the good reviews appear to be for the PS4.
Edit: My DAI PC experience and the above are reasons why I will never ever pre-order and will wait to make a buy decision until after the game is out.

Play female 95% of the time. Sometimes I force myself to stomach a male playthrough if there is a particular romance option I want to pursue. However, I start a lot of male run in my attempt at seeing other romance content, but I rarely finish the game.
Games are almost always better with a strong female protagonist.

They totally betafied the male character in DAI to the point where the only way to make the game feel natural was to play as female.
I feel like that was done on purpose btw for umm..."reasons"

Well TIM does make you his pet in ME2 and in ME3 you're suddenly taking orders from the alliance at every turn, so there's that. Anyways, feedback over in the feedback forum was that DAI had too much hero-worship and that it should've cut back on the special-ness of the Inquisitor. Afterall you are ordering executions and ordering governments around, can force almost anybody out of the Inquisition, everybody comes to you for advice and are deciding the fates of long-standing groups you really shouldn't have any reason to. ME fans on the flip side seem to think that stuff wasn't enough, oh well. ![]()

For some reason I could never get into FemShep in the trilogy, not even for Kaidan, so for Andromeda I'll probably try a female first unless there's something stopping me from feeling that character as well. Or there's a cute enough M/M option.
As for this whole emasculated Inquisition character, I get the feeling that you guys might be projecting a little something.

Depends on the voice actor.
I quite liked Jennifer Hale, so most of my playthroughs were Femshep. But, for example, in Dragon Age 2 I found the male VA to be much more preferable.

I always play male. I tried Femshep once and I didn't feel like the Shepard I was playing. Jennifer Hale was awesome though.

I always play as a female. Call me whatever names you like, but I just love designing female characters more than male characters. I'm more invested in their appearance, and not for perverted or juvenile fantasy reasons. I can't stop viewing FemShep as the true commander.
This extends to drawing in RL as well. Maybe I just find drawing the female figure more involved. To risk sounding too much like a pervert drawing curves is more fun than straight lines.

The ratio for me is probably 80:20. With 80 for women characters. But I always try to play man character at least once to see what is different.
Ditto.

What does Sliced Juicy Watermelons have to do with the thread?
Probably female, and it might only be female. I really disliked Sheploo's running animation in ME2 and ME3, and I couldn't get past the opening area with Miranda in 2 without laughing my butt off. If they make the running animation less exaggerated, I'll probably roll up a male character as well.

Let me start off by saying that personally I HATE just about anything SJW related and the entire state of the world we live in with SJW agendas being pushed in your face at all times. HOWEVER I personally have an affinity for stories with strong female characters.
To me a lot of times they seem more interesting, less cliched' and more emotionally involved. For the longest time I just couldn't get into the Mass Effect series until one day I started up a FemShep character on a whim. I've been hooked ever since.
I just wonder if it will be the same with no Jennifer Hale as the lead in MEA and a different and better VA for the male as well .
I'll probably start up the game as a male just to see what he looks and sounds like but then re-roll a female for my full platythrough.
Which way are you gonna go?
As an a proud SJW I have love playing as female characters from BioWare and hate people who think that having compassion, empathy, and understanding is wrong or having an angenda other than trying to make the world a better place for everything.

Whoa I had no idea being female meant you were naturally a beta as opposed to an alpha.
This changes everything! I'm going to have to tone it down at meetings, stop volunteering to head committees, and just generally fade more into the background. Damn it, if only I were male! Alas ;_;
