I think you are attempting to crucify the current devs for something said off the cuff by someone who likely was not a decision maker and might not even work there anymore.

That said it is a little staggering the obvious difference in manpower between the two projects.

DAI's MP didn't even get all of it's DLCs yet

Don't really see what your getting at?

I didn't play more than a game or two of ME3MP so this doesn't really matter to me. I do wish we had more stuff added to the game but I realize their limitations and will be patient. I still love this game.

With zero data to back it up I think it was believed that they could take the ME3 model and really run with it for DAI and indeed have a viable long term mp that made money for BioWare EA.  I think it instead has been a big disappointment in the revenue generation aspect.  i also think Luke Barrett was given the job of saving things.

It appears to me that the pluses of the new engine were more than countered by big minuses in stability and resource movement.   (The reason for tight region locks, the game simple plays like utter trash if not locked.)

I'm not sure they focused on the right things right away, perhaps thinking lack of revenues and the player base drop off are due to rng or new items etc when a big factor is simple reliability.  Getting 3 you have lost connections in a row last night even at this time is silly when it is mixed in with crashes and such elsewhere.  Also the decision to not allow exp to be earned like gold if you are disconnected is a horrible blunder even if it is not logistically easy.  You would hear a lot less whining and moaning from people like me about disconnects if I got the exp after playing 20 minutes on the dragon level only to be narniad.

That list is dated from 7 months into the games lifespan. It doesn't include all the ME3 DLC either.

Im venting a little since I cannot find a single game on PC/Perilous currently,  I also feel kinda stupid for preordering this game now and wish id waited a few weeks for the price to drop  :P

Its a shame since DAIMP is supposedly biowares most successful title to date.

In fairness, each DA map is the size of 3-5 ME maps. Each DA character has the potential to function as 2-3 different ME characters based on how you build them (even though some builds are obviously better than others).

Maybe this is true, but it doesn't feel as fun.  I would rather have:

1.) Dozens of kits with few build options than 2-3 huge kits with many build options.

2.) Many smaller maps than 1 big map.

This. Didn't expect to even play the MP but I ended up preferring it to SP (which I still haven't finished). The lack of content is an issue, but game stability is way more of a problem for me.

Today, I played a full game in Routine FC as a level 1 alchemist and an Assassin joined when the dragon was on 10% health.

Played a few threatening games with a Legionnaire after that, and we got an Archer in zone 5 of the second game.

Move up to Perilous, couldn't find a game and no one joined my own...so I found something else to do.

I've had numerous days like the above where it just doesn't stay stable enough to enjoy. There are other things to do/games to play, obviously, so it's not a huge deal. But...I wanted to be engrossed with DAI's MP the same way I was with other games. So the disappointment, in my case, was in large part self-made.

Things have been looking up lately, so I'll stay "glass half full" for now. Nice thing is you can always drop it for a while and come back.

I had to do that myself for a while. I love the game, but the problems kill it on a regular basis.

I read narnia'd as narniad. Like some alien species.

I will proceed to incorporate it into my daily conversations this week and report back as to the results.

It is likely that Bioware's definition of supporting DAMP "Beyond Mass Effect 3" refers to minimal actual support but for a longer period of time.

This is exactly what has been happening to me. I gotta say, nothing is more discouraging than wanting to play and support a game, then not being able to find anyone to play with, and when you finally find a couple, you crash out of the game or hit infinite loading loops.

Almost as bad as the key bug.

That isn't a bad thing.

Smaller active teams over longer periods of time is actually more beneficial than big teams over short periods of time. More overall data and feedback can be gathered over a longer time period, and smaller teams are inherently more flexible than big teams, leading to more creative decisions and more interesting returns--especially over a longer period.

It will be interesting to see what happens to this game once MEA comes out, Presumably most of the resources will be tasked with supporting that game. I cant see how Bioware will have a long term plan for this and MEA

Kinda irrelevant. MEA is slated for holidays 2016, it will have been 2 years since DAMP launch by then... If they stop the balancing and fixes anywhere after 1 year (late November 2015) they'll have already hold their promise.

Also, when MEA drops I'm pretty sure DAMP and ME3MP will die outright...

They're still supporting the game, are they not?

I could understand if Bioware announced that they are no longer supporting the game when I wasn't aware, or gave a limit to their support with the date it would end but I doubt this happened.

DAMP will be long dead before then. Its already on its last legs as it is judging by the number of games I can find at prime time.

Do you mean you think they will shutdown the servers when MEA releases?  I kind of doubt it.

DAMP and (even ME3MP) will still be playable... almost indefinitely (imo).

I agree that most users will migrate onto MEA... but on the other hand, when you have invested some much effort into your promotions, it's kind of hard to let that go.  I think the hardcore players for this game won't be migrating.

Oh no, they won't shut the server down. Hell, ME3MP servers are still online!

The fact is, right now it's hard to find "serious" players (Perilous) anywhere outside prime time. ME3MP is even worst out of prime time. Give another year and a half until MEA launches and I seriously doubt it's gonna be anywhere near as "easy" to get a full party as it is now.

I disagree completely about hardcore players for this game not migrating. It will be a massive exodus. Most hardcore players have played ME3MP and they want to dedicate themselves to MEA when it launches. ME3MP already showed signs of massive exodus before the last DLC, imagine how it was after a month they stopped official "support". DAMP is not as good as ME3MP was so no amount of promotions will keep those hardcore players from migrating before or when a new shiny Bioware MP makes its appearance.

EAs policy is that they shut down the servers if less than 1% of all players across all EA titles are playing.
