My issues with the servers pale in comparison to my issues with player attrition. Gameplay-wise, I actually like DAMP better than ME3MP (I'm probably biased since I'm much better at DAMP). Between the sketchy servers and the horrendous loot system DAMP bleeds players like crazy every time a new game with mp hits, though. The second I can find a rhythm with new friends in it they all vanish to play something else. I can't even play perilous anymore simply because I have no one to play perilous with.

When you need to play solo to accomplish anything in a mp mode it's a really, really bad sign for the life of the game. Bioware needs to do something to pull players back. I think they should start by showing a little more transparency. The new dlc won't get released until it's ready but they could at least give us a peak at what they're working on.

I don't get this either. A lot of developers give indications about when future DLC will hit online stores. It keeps players who are done with the game from jumping to another game because they know new content is on the horizon.

The game has a lot of factors against it as compared to Mass Effect.

-ME is Flagship title

-Shooter attracts different kinds of players

-Seemingly smaller team

-Early poor design choices like slot machine loot system, half-assed armor and crafting system, random repetitive playstyle.

-No real incentive for micro transactions

-Apparent lock from high ping peers

-Playerbase being split between 5 systems as opposed to 3.

-Foggy game mechanics

-Hostile dev interaction early on

-Lack of marketing due to legal reasons

Despite all that, with the new team changes at Biower it does feel like things are taking a step in the right direction. I just hope as they add more maps and more difficulties, they will overhaul the quick match system to allow you to set preferences. like "difficulty: x Perilous, x Nightmare" (but not routine threatening and heartbreaker) or "map: x elven ruins, X orlesian chateau, X tevinter ruins" (but not Ferelden Castle). I think that people will have problems finding a particular kind of game if the player base is split by:

1 of 5 Systems

 |

V

Region (nearby-ish)

 |

V

1 of 5 Difficulties

 |

V

1 of 4 Maps

This will get worse as they add more maps or as they add diferent game modes (horde mode and such).

If they really want to save the game they need to somehow figure a way to combine the many silos into larger player pools. If systems can be merged like (XB1 + XB360, PS4 + PS3, or XB1 + Windows10) then that can help tremendously. If the region lock can be removed or fixed so that it isn't necessary that is great too. If you can get more flexibility in how you search for games in regards to difficulty or map, that could be the easiest and would still add some major value to the game for sure.
