I truely suck at the Batmobile chase sequences and the little tricky-dick Riddle challenge rooms what you need to complete to the get the "true ending" to the game.

And I became worried, because I can do shooting and running just fine, driving however... just goes over my head. I even hated the first Mako, it was all akward and easily the worst part about the first game for me. I was ok with the Mass Effect 2's floating hovercraft! But Mako..? I can't really control it especialy in combat. It just gets really akward and annoying really fast.

Anyhows. Hoping it won't be super annoying in Mass Effect 4. :)

Mmmm so you don't like apples and fear that because of that oranges might not be of your taste? Interesting theory.

Also I never had any problem controlling/fighting with the Mako on ME1 and Hammerhead in ME2. It's just you are bad at it.

:) hmmm I sounded like a douche....sorry man...

No, no, it's ok. I already said I'm bad at it myself. :)

I am just wondering how much Mako there is and that will it have the god awful controls the Xbox360 version had. I also didn't have problems with the Hammerhead. That was great!

:) sorry again...I just need my coffee...

Well as far as I remember they said that they took super care to make the controls of Mako the best they could. I also remember one of the devs. specifically mentioning how is great of being part of EA because they can use assets from different games developed by different companies that are working for EA. I do remember them saying they are using the car controls of Need for Speed or at least basing part of the Mako controls on it. I think it was in one of their interviews....

Difference between Mako and Hammerhead was that Mako had independent controls for moving and shooting, while Hammerhead ran more like TPS character with "move forward" button always moving the vehicle towards where your crosshair was aiming, and circle-strafing not requiring the driver to first rotate the wheel base 90 degrees.
Mako was a more realistic APC that somewhat suffered from making the player do the job of two people (driver and shooter) at the same time. Still, you could get used to it, and, at least on PC, it was workable enough to not give me any troubles on up to Hardcore difficulty level. Of course, being able to save at any moment helped (you only had checkpoints on Hammerhead missions).

Alright, thanks for the info. :)

I also hope they will have a mode for us who suck at driving. Like... easy mode driving! Reason why I'm mentioning this here is that I want them to take a really hard look at the driving and giving a option to us who aren't as thrilled about it as people who like driving sections.

I heard they made some changes for the PC... but yes the overly realistic shooting controls were MY doom in the game. I was able to soldier trough the sections, but it was pain to get the weapons lined up for the shots, as sometimes a small bump in the terrain meant that your vehicle was in wrong position and your guns weren't actually pointing to the crosshair, but the skies. :)

At certain points, I just walked out of the vehicle and shot the enemies down with my pistol, because it was just eaiser that way! :D

Yep let's hope. A good thing would be for example if one of your companion is auto-manning the gun turret and it shoots as soon as enemies are close when you drive. That would be cool so you can focus on driving. This way it should be easier.

Have no clue as to how the ME:A Mako will turn out but they have stated that a goal is to make it easier to control and more mobile instead of feeling like you're handling a drunken rhino.

I'd actualy love to take the gun myself! I'm a crack shot, but shitty driver. :D

The Mako is an insult of proper control scheme for vehicules in an action game, there was no excuse to screw up that badly 6 years after Halo combat evolved.

Yeah, that's why I'm bringing this up here. I want them to take a long hard look at it and have a sollution for those who don't enjoy driving at all (or are just bad at it like me). :)

For sure... althou, I remember playing Gears of War 2 and it had the tank section using the same controls. It didn't really work as well as in Halo! But yeah, in Halo the controls weren't too bad...

I liked Mako better then the Hammer....

I kept dying so much with the Hammer ! The Mako..remind me of those cars that crawl on walls ! The only thing I didnt like..was how squichy it was...and the cooldown to fix it .

Not being able to control ME1's Mako efficiently is just evidence that you are a human being, no worries there.

Yeah the hammerhead was bit weak, but atleast it had some agility and I like that. It wouldn't have been OP if your missiles would have done more damage while driving in it thou. :)

Haha, thanks. But I'm sure if I was a driving game fan or a good driver, it wouldn't have been as bad. :)

The surefire path to victory in the Hammerhead is to play peekaboo with the enemy. Homing missiles that fire over obstacles makes it sort of ridiculously easy. Just spam it and colossi are at your mercy. It kinda sucks though. I loved ramming them with the Mako.

Maybe so..but thats only because you had missions in ME2 that required you to jump around from rock to rock . Now you try the hammer on previous Map of ME1....I think it be a bigger pain

I had a lot of problems with both. With the hammerhead, it was more me becoming nervous, which insured that I would mess up. Getting across a lava flow became this huge relief, because I was having so much trouble getting the timing right.

The Mako itself was something I could used to in terms of traveling, though that was frustrating as well. But trying to fight enemies with it was tedious and time consuming.

Edit: By which I mean, playing peekaboo.

I always have a better time in NG+ since I'm not wasting time trying to accrue XP, so I just go all Spectres of Hazard and push armatures and colossi into lava pits and bum rush bandits.

That's the same strategy that works with the Mako. Ramming requires far skill than necessary.

I meant the Mako. I never ram anything with the Hammerhead, though it's funny to see them go flying at full speed. Too often enemies with ridiculous rapid fire tear right into it.

The Mako thing is easily the one part of MEA that I am least excited about.

I have never found driving around big open areas in a vehicle any fun. I'm always like " Can we get to the action already?!! "
