I believe their excuse on the approach creating the New Mass Effect was just really made up. It was first reported that they started working on it after ME3 so the fans had really no say in the matter even when they sent out a survey a while back. Not that we matter any. My beef is paying the high price for entertainment on a product that can be dramatized by lavish artwork and video to buy something completely the opposite. Call of Duty was the prime example for that, worst game ever made and I ever played. I don't trust the makers of that game and I have never bought another product from them again. I thought the same about ME when it first came out and BioWare. I was a Doom fan at the time. However when the price was right I played ME1-3 and thought hmmm, they have something here.

Studying psychology for over 20 years and being a Persian Gulf War veteran, visiting over 13 countries, and meeting people from all over the globe, and being an artist myself, I have learned a lot about people, sales, business, cheap tricks, scams, and everything in between. Their excuse to this approach to ME doesn't make any sense, that unless you were creating a new entire game based off the Trilogy of the game. That's fine and dandy, then say so, instead of treating the public with statements like, 'we're not creating a prequel or a sequel', and assume we are completely ignorant on story reading and comprehension. I believe most people would have been fine with that fact that ME is now Dead. I also believe if BioWare had just came out and said that a new game was being created off the trilogy of ME, I think they would have been less insulted and let down as a fan and consumer of the product. Most reviews I see aren't happy reviews or comments on the game especially ME3, so I don't understand why the shortcut on producing off an incredible product that would generate a large amount of money. Now, to gain the trust of those fans are going to be difficult including myself. Are we going to risk the amount of money to pay for entertainment that might let us down again? Probably not. I know I may not as much as I like ME1-3. I just might stick with being a Doom Fan again. Now, someone might say I'm just one person who may not buy the product for what ever reasons, but in the world of profit... one soon becomes like a virus.

I know they're not going to change it by my account like one commenter told another. I have no problem with that, I'm sure other fans do too. Next time they should just be more honest. After studying the game and the story from ME1-ME3 they could have gone further than they know with the original plot and main character. Legend writers are legends for a reason. One editor had stated in a article about Mass Effect Game was as good as "STAR WARS." I think not! It probably could have been.

Mass Effect by some accounts and people making comments on the game state that ME will be a Western frontier type game no matter all the glitz and glamour put into it. It may look and feel like ME, but it won't have that effect on its fans like ME1-3 did and just won't be the same. Oh, well, losing one customer probably won't hurt their profits, but maybe others will ask why one person won't buy from that company any more even if they feel the games they create are satisfactory. Many real fans felt that ME should have had the originals along with the new Christmas Trimmings to the new game or have been somehow linked together in the storyline. I have asked some if they will buy from EA or BioWare and most were upset at ME3 they probably will not, even though I thought ME3 was okay in my book whether or not the main hero died or stayed alive. Will I? It is difficult to say, my trust in them to be truthful to the games they create especially RPG entertainment is very little at this point. I will probably buy ME Andromeda and the outcome of that game will probably decide whether or not I'm going to buy future products from EA and BioWare.

I have to say that my all-time favorite game I have ever played is no longer the very game that made it such. I suppose this is why Classic games stay alive for generations to generation. You just can't make it better, because it's already perfect the way it is.

Hi, Vinny, welcome to the BSN.

I'm having trouble pinpointing exactly what you are unhappy about. Is it the fact Andromeda will basically "ignore" the original trilogy? That has several people worried but doesn't necessarily mean the game will be bad. We can only voice our opinions and then wait and see.

Also, you will probably get several "TL;DR" replies. People are more likely to read and reply seriously to a post if it is short and to the point.

I would like to suggest that your accusations of cheap tricks, scams, and everything in between are somewhat harsh. BW has never made a secret of the fact that the next game would be set in the ME universe, but would not continue the original trilogy storyline. It's kind of a given that the direction will be different and hopefully innovative and fresh.

As for the psychology of sales and business, well BW are no more guilty of hyping their products than any other developer (Watchdogs or Destiny for example).

Just because they're ditching the Milky Way doesn't mean there's not going to be anything Mass Effect in the game.

While I don't think it was necessary to go to a completely different galaxy, I like that they're cutting links to the original trilogy's story. In a series where your choices carry over from game to game, it's good to have a fresh start once in a while so you don't get bogged down with too many variables to need to account for.

Plus, we've only gotten 1 announcement trailer from BioWare on the game. It's a little early to be this dramatic about "Mass Effect is dead!".

If you have a problem with the basic premise, there's not much else to say. They're not changing it.
