Whenever I think the ME:A forums are dumb, I only have to read a Sinful Force thread and the world becomes a little bit worse... and by contrast the utter stupidity of the ME:A forums becomes almost tolerable again.

None poster alert. Don't worry. He goes away on his own.

It and the Wraith slowly became too good for their own good.

Another gun with ridiculously overblown stats considering its weight and form, and a prime example of how nonsensical and arbitrary the weapon design in this game is at its worst.

The devs didn't realize that the reason no one played the wraith is because it leveled terribly, not because it wasn't amazing at level X. In a lot of ways, the Talon was similar.

No one played the Wraith, because the damage was pretty weak and most people wanted ROF increase, because the Claymore with RC shoots almost as fast.

But Biower just upped the damage to near Claymore levels.

I never understood the complaints about Wraith's slow ROF. It's a useful feature. It means you can use powers and dodge in the middle of a firefight without losing any weapon DPS.

its the gun that flew under the nerf radar.

It got buffed several times up to its current state, much like Hurrdurricane.

Which also reminds me... of Arc Pistol.

It is a Cerberus weapon, so therefore it is superior to all Alien-made weapons

Remember there was no Raider or Piranha at that point. People wanted something that hits harder than Katana or Scimitar, but is fast too. And that delay before reloading pissed them off.

Arc pistol buffs were okay, till they made the damage 3x instead of 2x. That overkilled everything.

Uh? I thought it's because it sounds like a tincan. Why would it level horribly?

We shall not speak of That Thing.

Apparently, we shall instead. And yeah, that buff was simply going overboard by a mile and a half.

Just make the talon one of the things/characters you ONLY use on platinum.

Needs a buff if you ask me.

What I meant is that the Wraith was one of the most level dependent ultra-rares.  It was heavy and underpowered at level I, mediocre at level V, and amazing at level X.  That would be fine, but this gun is an ultra rare so leveling is also ultra rare.  What BW initially did is, instead of closing the gap between level I and level X, they just buffed the whole thing.

Seriously, I don't understand this whole "tincan" thing. It's sound is perfectly in line with other shotguns, it just has less of that Claymore boom in it, as it should.

And then you even keep using Talon, which does sound quite pathetic, with no sharpness in its sound at all. It's just a pistol, of course, but even Carnifex is much better in that regard.

I get that, but I was asking why was it so level-depentant in your opinion. You see, all guns improve at the same rate with levels. The only guns that improve a lot more than that are the recharging, infinite ammo ones, cause their magazine improves too.

Or is there something I'm missing?

I really don't see how you can't feel that. If I went to find a tincan now, and threw it down the road, it'd have pretty much the same sound :P

You need new speakers. Or headphones (should've said yes when I offered you my gaming headset...)

Or ears.

Yeah, nothing special in Wraith's leveling. I used it a lot when it was only 3 or 4, even at that level it was an excellent weapon for my asari adept.

I think Sinful should start posting 8 threads a day in the ME:A section.

I concur

Talon is yet another broken 150-200% PRS gun like the Hurrdurricane or Wraith. It has better DPS vs shields than a goddamn Raider, and is only slightly behind a RC'd Claymoar vs all other defenses while having better accuracy than both as if it gets free smart choke.

Arc Pistol's fine tho because a quarian weapon invented by greatest genius in the universe Admiral Xen should be completely overpowered. If anything it needs a buff to OHK Geth Primes with headshots.

Possibly

But hey, all those things work very well when I've got a Claymore in hand

That would make it my second most favorite gun ever!

The Wraith for some odd reason had a higher than average spread on both weight and damage.  IIRC, there was a 60% weight penalty difference from I to X, which is huge, especially for a gun that was meant for casters.  Also the low damage on low levels gave no reason for it to be used by weapons classes either.

8 posts a day in ME:A section?! What do you guys think, I'm a machine? ... But I was thinking some single player action, and if that happens, interest in ME:A section may be probable. Otherwise where would I get all  my great ideas?

Uh, that's weird. I can't day I remember that, but then again, I wasn't around at the very beginning of this game.
