As for the engine, UE4 is much superior to FB3, and every FB3 game was/is plagued with technical issues, but I do see the benefit of an in house engine. You see, the more hands gets on the engine in a company, the better it becomes over time. FB3 from some sources I read started as a miserable pile of crap, and at least after BF4 and DA:I it got to a workable shape. I'm interested to see how ME:A turns out and in which areas Bioware would over-compensate.

If it is in house?

-They don't have to pass through all of that red tape to customize it.

-It is inhouse and has no fees per product.

-Creates a standard and framework to do work on.

-Establishes a software stack which means distribution of labor is easy.

-Potential to be scalable.

-Code can be shared between projects as the company has control over the changes.

Seems beneficial to me but like everything it is not as easy.

Sorry, I meant in house instead of shared. As I said, I can see the benefits, but I do prefer if it was a superior one.
