Do any of y'all have any rituals that you do while playing?
I've started saying "Geronimo!" every time I start a mission, primarily because of the way the camera "falls" toward the war table piece.

I like to have a mint when I start a game session. It's something that began with Mass Effect, but it's carried over into DA2 and DAI. Not really sure why I do it, and it's, generally, limited to BW games. Replaced old, worse, habits I suppose.
I try not to bring out the same party members twice in a row. So, if I went to the Emerald Graves with Blackwall, Sera and Solas, the next time I leave Skyhold I'll have Cassandra, Varric and Vivienne.
The RPG Ritual:
Step 1: Create a character
Step 2: Play the game a little bit
Step 3: Delete the character due to regrets
Step 4: Repeat til warm and fuzzy feelings are maintained
Disclaimer: This ritual may cause you to put off or stop playing a game you actually like due to frustration caused by seemingly endless repetition

If a game allows it. I will only use the armor and weapon(s) I crafted. Same goes for companion(s).
Typically I start in the chair/on the couch, and somehow after a few hours end up on the floor.
Take Cassandra, Varric and, when he becomes available, Dorian everywhere.
Visit and annoy Cullen whenever possible.
Coke Zero but Black Jack bubblegum is hard to find (points for the reference)

Pretty much this for the first day or so of a new game.
Otherwise, in any game I have to choose companions to group with, I have to select them is this order warrior/tank, followed by rogue/dps and then mage/healer classes. I can't manage to choose out of that order. I think it from way back in Baldur's Gate where you could use different formations depending on what order your characters where in *shrug*
- When I send a team to a potentially dangerous mission on the Wartable, I play a multiplayer match in that region
- I always have Sera open locked doors or chests. My character is a Rogue in gameplay terms, but as a ranger/outdoorsey type, he still wouldn't know how to pick locks better than Sera or Varric in my headcanon.
- At the end of a session, if I'm in the Keep, I always save next to the bed. Which is also a different room, cause the quarters are too ridiculously decadent.
LOL I do #1 and #3 too.
I do something similar to #2. I tend to roleplay my companions and keep them in character.
An example would be not letting Morrigan learn healing magic since she explicitly says she is not a healer.
The exceptions are:
1) my character is a Spirit Healer mage AND I am friends with her
2) Wynne is recruited AND I am friends with both her and Morrigan

Brew myself a strong cup of coffee, mute the DAI music, put on my fav songs and spend hours making the perfect Inquisitor before I play. And when playing, I must always jump up and over hills and mountains. I never take a path.

Before beginning a DAI gaming session:
1. Review the three DA-related mod/message sites I frequent (I'm volunteer staff on two of them.)
2. Review my meta-game objectives for the session (e.g. "test a certain new combo of skills", or "see where a certain different convo branch leads", or just, "remember to have Sera accompany to Halamshiral this time instead of Varric!")
3. Crack open a cold one. ![]()
Rituals? You mean like chicken feet and nekkid virgins?
Right, I'm in... unless you mean something more... nevermind.

Hah, this is the opposite of me; I always walk/run the paths except when I'm discovering the borders of a given map.
It's something I've done since Zelda. I had Link do some insane things to get around the areas in Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword.
On weekends...prepare coffee, toast; play while eating breakfast. A glorious way to start the weekend.
