The time involved in travelling would mean they arrived together likely born on the transport or in stasis pods. The green foreground might be the inside of that citadel like area in the concept art?
...how would people be born in stasis?

I wouldn't either if I were them. Surely there are much more interesting species than us out there. Plus, they probably have seen our reality tv broadcasts. This is why aliens wont visit us.

They'd be impressed with Lara Bingle and the Kardashians I'm sure.
So. On . Topic.
XD
Why is everyone assuming the adult in that photo is a man? In the larger grabs you can see the outline of a bun hairstyle and a narrow waist.
It's prolly unisex. You see what you wanna see.
Either that or it is the mother holding them. I dunno. Maybe you're fighting for your dead wife, maybe she's still in cryo... *shrug* Who knows? But then again, what about when we play as a woman? Wouldn't that make it a man?

Hardly frail figured the person is twisted with their left arm positioned further back they are angled in the picture. Left shoulder is leaning back and downward. The head is turned slightly right looking outward.
Could be a man or woman but not seeing a bun.
What does a thin figure have to do sitting at an angle? You're conflating things that are unrelated.Just look at the thin neck. And look at the semi-circle on the back of the head. It's a woman with a bun.

What I see is a parent holding his/her two children in the park on a bench. It does, and is supposed to, invoke memories of the last game, because of Blue, Red and Green, as the colors of the ending of ME3.
If you notice the shadow right below the left child, it goes from lighter to darker, with it being out of shadow and in the shadow respectively.
Again, to me the man in definitely blu and the left child does not look green. They seem on the ground, not on a bench.
I don't understand the shadow thing you mentioned.
A turned neck appears thinner at angles, try it with a straw. Angled shoulders waists heck even thighs do the same thing ask Hollywood.
No need to get worked up killroy we're just discussing theories.
Chill.

Ahh this takes me back to the times when all the footage we had of The Force Awakens was a bunch of blurry drone shots and a teaser.
...are you drunk? Straws are cylindrical and my post had no emotional connotations.
K, so, if you take only the darker parts of the neck, yes I can see what Killroy is talking about. However, I'm thinking that there may be more to the neck than that. If you notice, the light is off to the right of the mother/father in that picture. What does light do? Shines off of the neck. Therefore, I say it's male.
It's kind'a an optical illusion in that everybody sees something different. It's kind'a because it is so freakin' small, too.
The green, to address an earlier poster, is all around. It is, if you believe the Catalyst, the final stage of evolution. Henceforth, we have not achieved it yet, therefore it is in front of us. I couldn't discern any color on the left child either, except for maybe gray. But then again, maybe that's the fourth ending?
Crazy theory here...
Ryder, the parent, has two children with him on his/her way to Andromeda. Gung ho, military type of family. Destroy, the child on his/her right, and GetDestroyed, the child on his/her left, talk their dad/mom into going down on the first planet with him/her. So, they're walking around and Destroy sees GetDestroyed get taken out by robots and then goes all commando for the rest of the game. Ryder, being control, has to calm the child down by the end of the game and convincing him that that's not a good way to be. This is where the Johnny Cash song comes in. Destroy must understand what the robots did and accept that. In other words, synthesis.
Hmmm.
EDIT : Really wish we had a pronoun for both males and females besides "it".
Shoulders look male
Maybe humans have opted to wear human fashions instead of the asari fashions prevalent in the trilogy. That's right folks! The puffy, shoulder padded jackets may be back from the 80s to haunt us:

Actually, I really liked these puffy things! ![]()

Yah, that was one thing I always knew that the Millenials were a tad crazy about when speaking of the 70's. I knew the decade that was coming next.
