Device and Pizza locations

Or is there just a set number of patterns for their spawning. I know there are set locations. I guess I want to know if you can rush to the next spawn spot with certainty or is it all a guessing game?
If there is a limited number of patterns I wouldn't mind being pointed in the direction of where to find that document.

Well they aren't entirely random. They spawn in a certain number of predictable locations on the map. Which location is random, but it's guaranteed to be one of those specific locations.
I don't think anyone has made a map of each location but would be pleasantly surprised to find out I'm wrong there.

Nah, it's mostly guessing game and considering where it's more likely to spawn (for example if there's a certain place with more than one location close to each other).

I think watching some of the pizza running solos on PC made me think there were set patterns. Knowing you can manipulate those spawn locations makes sense. Thanks.

Dala Kaar has it. There are between a dozen and a score of specific locations where they can spawn. When it's time to spawn, one of those locations is randomly chosen.
I know this applies to cerberus turrets as well, but what about collector webs? It always amused me that they are so rarely deployed at a choke point.

This is how I meant to word it. I made it sound like they spawn at any given location on the map lolDala Kaar has it. There are between a dozen and a score of specific locations where they can spawn. When it's time to spawn, one of those locations is randomly chosen.

I've had devices spawn right at my feet on several occasions. Wave 10 pizzas usually spawn in the middle of four phantoms.

I have noticed that they tend to spawn away from the team though. Once a device finishes, I quickly look to see where my teammates are and then run in the opposite direction. Most times, I'm right
Yeah, I have to say that my experience seems to indicate this as well.
However, it might just be a case of confirmation bias...

I tend to do that as well. I figure if I am wrong then one of the others will be close by, but if I am right then I can hit it quicker.
Sometimes I am good. Sometimes I am not. More often than not I get close so it made me think there might be a pattern I was missing.

I can help with that.
I can help the confirmation bias.

I've noticed the same as D-Rock and have started moving away from the group towards what I think is a likely spot, if I'm really on top of it I'll try to make that spot close to some other locations within easy reach. Doing this I'd honestly say my ratio to getting em first has gone up.
Had a device pop up literally underneath my character couple weeks ago. Almost took longer to find the damn thing that it would've had it been next to me instead of under me. (The arrow under that circumstance is atrociously misleading lawls.)

Yeah as I said, I noticed this too. I started having the first thoughts about this when I first played with Feneckus. As hard as it was to kill as fast as he did, I remember that the thing that struck me the most about his gameplay was him always being first in line to devices and such, almost as if he already knew where it was about to spawn.

Though the answer seems to be what I thought, which is that it is random and there aren't patterns based on the initial spawn location.

I believe they are random to a point. Like 3 different variations for each map for devices. I pretty much know where the 2nd device will appear after doing the 1st one on most maps. Take Firebase White for example If the 1st one spawns on the upper deck either next to the ammo box or to the right of the 1st tunnel next to the ladder / those barrels...the 2nd device will be either be to the right wall inside the middle room or all the way to the furthest you can go to the left in the back of those 2 walk ways where everybody used to camp. For pizza, on Glacier ..they are always in the basement if everyone is near the LZ or to the left of it ..or the top of everyones favorite staircase or in the room to the left in the lab. They appear random most time..up to a point. I have noticed patterns after playing for so long.

I don't know that it's entirely random, generally a delivery doesn't spawn in the enemy spawn and you can somewhat block by location. Although with a team sometimes the game is like **** that, lol. Generally devices on Glacier almost always spawn in the basement for me. Maybe just my experience though.

Though Giant seems an anomaly in that if the device spawns in the bunker the other 3 seem to spawn there as well and work from the lower bunker up.

The general trend I've noticed with pizzas (and what little I bothered wtih devices) is that they'll usually spawn away from enemy spawns (at least the first one, second one is usually more iffy) and possibly also away from you.
edit: so yes, on smaller maps like Glacier you can gamble by running to the emptier parts of the map in hopes of the pizza spawning right under your nose.

The Wave 10 objective on Ghost Hazard will almost definitely put you either outside, or on the hack in that tiny building in the corner of the map.
The last couple of times I played I noticed the second pizza seemed to be spawning closer to the EZ than the first.

That's my experience as well. Glacier is about the only one that you can fairly regularly get it to drop in the basement most of the time with positioning it seems though. I guess a team might could block the spawns on jade or white and see if there is a consistent drop in a spot as well. The general trend I've noticed with pizzas (and what little I bothered wtih devices) is that they'll usually spawn away from enemy spawns (at least the first one, second one is usually more iffy) and possibly also away from you.

Jade seems to only have like 4 different pizza spawn locations and they're all next to each other pretty much.
