I woke up to find our topic closed due to derailment. I cannot say I was pleased though I'm hardly surprised, so let's start a new thread, guys! And this time, please take your personal discussions to PM or to the lobby section of the forum. Some off topic discussions are fine, but pages of them aren't fun. I'm going to copy-past Maria's first post, and after that, may Andraste and the Maker watch over us all!

 

 

 

 

 

I noticed a lack of general discussion thread on Cassandra and so have started one.
 
What do we know about Cassandra?

 

 

Cassandra is a love interest for a male Inquisitor.
 
Cassandra is a warrior companion in Dragon Age: Inquisition
She is a Seeker of Truth. The Seekers are secretive organization within the Chantry based around rooting out corruption.
She interviewed Varric in Dragon Age II and afterwards traveled with him for some time.
She is a Pentaghast, the royal family of Navarra and famed dragon hunters.
She has killed a dragon.
She hates blood mages because they killed her older brother, Anthony.
She is the Hero of Orlais and the Right Hand of the Divine.
 
Here is Cassandra's Character Kit. She has little hearts on her costume.

Though of noble birth, Cassandra Pentaghast turned her back on a life of pomp and politics long ago, trading silk and lace for sword and shield. 
 
Cassandra is a long-serving member of the Seekers of Truth. The quiet order both protects and polices the Chantry, and is granted ultimate authority in its investigations. Feared by everyone from the lowliest mage apprentice to the Templar leadership, all are subject to the righteous wrath of the Seekers. Their judgment is final.
 
Cassandra joined the order shortly after the death of her brother and quickly rose through their ranks. She is outwardly rigid and rarely shows any emotion, save anger and aggression. Sharp, pious, and driven, she is the sword in the right hand of the Divine, seeking justice above all else.


Character Profile:

[DRAGON AGE]: Dragon Age fans will remember Cassandra from the previous game, but for those meeting her for the first time, who exactly is she?

[DAVID GAIDER]: Cassandra is a member of the Seekers of Truth, the order that led the templars away from the Chantry to battle the mage rebellion… but she is also servant to the Divine, the spiritual leader of the Chantry and thus all of Thedas.

[DA]: Does that ever force her to pick sides?

[DG]: She is part of both worlds, and when those worlds come into conflict, she chooses to stand with the Divine because, as she sees it, the Divine is seeking to end the chaos rather than add to it. To her fellow Seekers, this makes Cassandra a traitor, but it puts her in a position to be there when the Inquisition is founded, to do what needs to be done.

To be fair they closed the Sera thread, then cleaned it up later before merging the two threads. Maybe that's what will happen to us?

I don't actually expect any Cassandra heavy DLC. I'm quite sure we will get some Wolf Hunt thingy, maybe an introduction of the next antagonist (like they with with magisters, in form of the Architect, and Corypheus), but hardly much more? Since we don't get a predetermined Divine they can't give us anything related to this. But apart from that Cass doesn't offer too much for a DLC.

It depends. If one DLC led us to Nevarra and we got to met the Pentaghasts, Cass could have a big role. Now, I know she loathes her clan and claims to know actually little of Nevarra, but still, she'd be the closest thing of a guide we would have. With bonus points if we had to explore the Grand Necropolis ('cause yes, I want to go in Nevarra. Most people are like "We want the Anderfels for DA4! Or Tevinter! Or Seheron!" and all, but if I could chose the next game's location, I would pick Nevarra. And also I'd force players to choose between saving a basket of puppies from a fire and saving a basket of kittens from drowning).

 

Also I'm not sure if I want to know anything about that doll.

Don't know about the others but I wasn't personally suggesting a cass focused dlc, just a dlc with more Cass in it.

 

Which is obviously bound to happen in any dlc we get.

Well... s**t. Hopefully there will be some new dialogue for all the companions in the new DLC. Cassandra is a very important character, regardless of her being the divine or not. I think she is going to have a lot to say about/to Solas.

So what is everyone's ideal 'post inquisition' scenario with Cassandra? Regardless of what the ending says.

I like drama and angst so her becoming Divine leads the Inquisitor to become detached, cold and ultimately corrupt.

The Inquisition devolves into little more then state sponsored thugs for hire by their allies across Thedas, because the Inquisitor just doesn't give a damn anymore.

I like drama too, more than I want to admit, lol. This is probably why I liked the progression of Cass seemingly being annoyed by your flirting to admiring you from your actions. Making her Divine just seems to fit her story too well, and makes for good story appeal so I go with that as well.
