Lately, I've been thinking of getting rid of even of the Seekers, if I ever play again.

It seemed cool with Cass or Leli divine, but I got to thinking how much I hate spirits in this series too. So I think from a roleplaying perspective, that's another thing for her to think about. It kind of makes me uneasy.

They will never be able to make everyone happy.

Sadly true, the only way I could see them doing it is when the game was human only

Essentially when the tone of what they said made maintaining the relationship more on the unlikely side.

Headcanon is what video game writers tell gamers to use, when they are too scared to give a straight answer because of the consequences that might entail. lol Can't see  someone like Martin Amis getting a question, and then telling his readership to use their own "headcanon" to somehow take the place of his writing.

Dammit, I just remembered me of Hawke, and how I hated what Bioware handled him.
The Viscount disappearing was BS, they tried to explain it and made a bigger BS full of plot holes (Cullen being the Commander of the red templars lol), his romance with Isabela was handled like sh*t ("yeah, we separeted for a time, its not like she prefers to help the Inquisition than help me"), he going to Weisshupt is BS ("hey guys Im going to Weisshupt, even if I dont have anything to do with the Wardens and I'm the Viscount of Kirkwall") and the epilogue is BS ("Well, Hawke vanished again. The End").

I don't remember them leaning on it so much before. Until Gaider just dismissed the lack of origins here because
people will "headcanon" anyways. It seems like a reactive statement. Especially coming off DA2. I love it, but apparently it wasn't received well. But because of that, I get the feeling he's just like "F*ck it. I'm not gonna try anymore."

Someone asked him about better personal/origin stories in this game, and his answer to that is people will headcanon anyways.

Speaking as a DA2 and DAO fan, I want to tell him I liked what he tried then. Maybe it's a little too late though.

I don't think an origin story was necessary, unless we're count the Peace Summit being playable as an origin story

The personal makes everything better to me. But I'd also rather just be an Inquisitor if I really pushed it. Not a Herald.

Being just Inquisitor requires a completely different story... someone with actual expertise and was recognized for the job beforehand.

The Herald doesn't require anything, so you're right. And that's why it sucks.

To me, the first act of the game is you proving your worth of being Inquisitor, from deciding how to get to the Temple of Sacred Ashes, the initial War Table missions, doing quests in the Hinterlands, recruiting agents, getting either the Templars or Mages to help you close the Breach, and finally holding off Corypheous' forces long enough to evacuate Haven.

While I do like DAI, the Inner Circle lacks the chemistry that Hawke's merry band of misfits had. Yes, we have party members but considering we've got a war criminal, a mage who really only wants to join to ensure she can keep her status, and the Elven God of Rebellion on our team it doesn't really feel like we're a cohesive group.

Yes, Isabela lied about the Tome, and Anders blew up the Chantry, but DA2 does a really good job of making it seem like these characters have known each other for the better part of a decade.

I will never understand this, at the moment Vivienne joins you, the Inquisition has no power and is considered a heretical group, she took a big risk joining it (confirmed by WoT Vol.2) and yet she is seen as the selfish power hungry who only cares about herself.

It doesn't take a lot of vision.

There's a big hole in the sky and only one person who can close it. The Chantry is headless, and whoever closes the Breach is bound to have a lot of influence over the world, especially with a title as shiny as 'Herald of Andraste'. The Inquisition may be a risky bet, but it's the only game in town.

You don't even need the self centered mage. The only thing I liked about Vicky was her voice. lol As for the length of time, I agree that DA:I has pacing problems, but it only takes place over a year. I was really surprised when at the end of my second play through that everyone wanted to stay with  my Inquisitor... Even Varric wanted to stay longer, and he needed to go meet up with Hawke. lol

At best, the Inner Circle feels like soldiers who respect each other.

Though I could never really get behind the idea of Hawke's companions being a "Merry Band of Misfits" because of Fenris and Anders absolutely loathing each other and Merrill.

Merrill is most certainly a misfit, the cute and cuddly one who runs into stuff. lol

I think there is more than just respect, at the end if you have high approval with Sera you can call her family. If you romance Cassandra (I'm not sure about the other romances) she is very much in love with the Inquisitor. I really liked how she talks about how happy and relieved she was to see the Inquisitor emerge from the smoke after the final battle, and that she would always stand with him. Though I thought it was dumb that the Inquistor did not kiss Cassandra,  after he had just defeated ol'Cory.

I agree that its one of the reasons she joined, helping the Inquisition could lead to that, still it was a big risk and she helped from the front line, putting her life at risk to help the Inquisition. Saying that she didn't want to help to save the Thedas and joined only to keep her status is untrue.

I'm not really proving anything. Not anything unusual at least. It's just 7 levels or so of helping peasants gather rat testicles, leveling up, and just picking a side at the end.. no real war involved, no "inquiry/investigation", nothing to do with getting to the truth behind these groups beforehand. Just simply getting help with the breach. About the only thing to do with previous events is smacking around some hand-me-down templars and mages, who aren't really "like the other templars and mages". And there's no necessary expertise or relevancy with anything the Divine was interested in. or the whole Chantry for that matter. The most important worth of the character is still Breach based. It's still about being the Herald. Oh, and I "make decisions". Awe-inspiring for someone like Iron Bull. Afterwards, I let off an avalanche and.. and people get on their knees and sing.

Here I thought making 50g for Hawke's expedition was an accomplishment. One time I even got high friendship with Carver....patted myself on the back for that.  :D

Ugh, if the misspelling wasn't bad enough the fact it defends Varric is enough to make it worth a unlike.

I will never pick that line, while Varric is my Hawke's best pal and one of my favorites characters, I cant be that mean to Cass.
