Because of the mark which you got due to his plans in the first place. Granted, it was an accident you were involved, but his whole tearing down the veil plan started with Corypheus being used to activate his orb. None of this would have happened if not for him.

People may prefer the non-Divine romanced Cassandra, but there isn't anything wrong with a Divine Cassandra's romance. You should try both to see which one you prefer.

It's telling for divine Vivienne that Cass, who respected and was cordial with her, calling her a tyrant and is disgusted enough by her actions to leave the council. That says a lot.

Her eyes met mine, and as she stood in front of me with her sword and her shield, I knew, in my heart of hearts, that she was probably going to kill me. Then 3 years later we met back up with the mad elf god and he cut off my arm. Then when we got back home your mother and I made sweet, sweet love. And so that's where you come from.

 

As I was writing this, I couldn't help but imagine the Inquisitor having Sean Connery's voice.

@Merela, those motivationals pretty much sum up why I want Cassandra to be Divine, particularly the last one.  I think she's probably the most genuinely good person of any of the companions in the DA series.

Cass might be one of the most genuinely good persons in Thedas. Still, I prefer her anywhere but on the Sunburst Throne - she and Fjalar deserve their happy ending, and I like Vivienne being Divine.

But Divine Cassandra means a Grand Cathedral filled by echos of Disgusted Noises and that is music to my ears.

Considering the trash they handed you for three games, this means very little but...I'd say she's one of the better companions the Company has done since the BG days.

I like Cass ideals (with the exception of the way she wanted to handle the mages), if I could care about the religious side of the Chantry I might have wanted her to be the Divine, alas I dont. Thats why Vivienne will always be the better choice to me, she united the Chantry, proved the mages are under her control, she is a valuable ally of the Inquisition as Divine and she wants to launch an Exalted March on Par Vollen, everything I wanted from the Chantry.
And I dont think she would ever be happy being the Divine, its not what she truly wants, but she see it as her duty and will sacrifice even her happiness to fullfil it. So I like the ending where she is the Lady Seeker (its a role she choose) and romance the Inquisitor, its clear she is more happy that way.
