Swift to slumber, you've just been railed."

In all seriousness though I feel like the Romance for Cass in this game is one of the more heartrending things in any media. It's so rare to be a part of something where the feeling is something like "This person is really just being that honest with me." It's so unusual in the world generally as well.
I don't know how anyone can like turn her down in the end there and not feel sick, jeez.
I'd say, well I don't remember all of David Gaider's perspective but it may very well have been his best one...

I don't like it. Which is a shame because I was really looking forward to it.
Which part are you referring to when you say "in the end there"?

Eh, I really liked Cassandra's romance (I liked Josie's too), but I still think Morrigan's romance arc was better. Without considering the OGB thing and family reunion mentioned in DAI since it's in a following game.

I just mean should you choose to reject her when she wants you it's absolutely the most brutal thing ever, was going to find the scene somewhere but can't.
Anyway, what disappointed you?
And I mean sure, Josephine is cute and all..

I don't know about Cass' romance being the best (since that sort of things is highly subjective) but it's definitely the one I prefer in the whole DA setting so far (with Morri-Morri and Leli not far behind. Fenris is nice as well.)
(And I actually turned her down once out of curiosity. The way she says "I knew you would break my heart, but I wanted this anyway" is heartbreaking.

They're two different types of people, other then romances. And Josie works well for those who'd prefer a romance that won't (necessarily) lead to sex before marriage.

Nice nickname for Morrigan, though I doubt she'd like it

I have embarrassing nicknames for every team members of the three games.
But yeah, it's hard to take Morrigan seriously after that. "I did the Dark Ritual with Morri-Morri" doesn't sound really scarry, eh?

Morrigan's romance arc is interesting but neither good nor better. I mean Morrigan in Origins:-
1) Supports Tevinter enslavement of Elves at Denerim's alienage for a mere 1 point increase in Constitution.
2) Supports living people who are in danger to their fate even though we need those people, seeing as the Redcliffe survivors end up joining Eamon's army
3) Supports leaving Circle mages to their fate because they are somehow "weak" in her eyes.
4) Is selectively hypocritical about preservation of the past where she is obsessed with preserving Elven artifacts but has no qualms about destroying a Human one, the Urn of the Sacred Ashes
5) Tries to sperm jack you for a shady ritual which involves creating an innocent life and using him as a tool and she leaves you if you refuse her offer, which you absolutely can do on ethical grounds or on the grounds that Morrigan will not be a very good mother.
In Inquisition, Morrigan:-
1) Is perfectly willing to drink something that might cause really adverse effects such as permanent enslavement just for knowledge without thinking about how it might affect Kieran.
Don't get me wrong, Morrigan is an interesting character but I see her the same way I see Vivienne. Both are interesting and very attractive women but they are not exactly good women.
I just mean should you choose to reject her when she wants you it's absolutely the most brutal thing ever, was going to find the scene somewhere but can't.
Anyway, what disappointed you?
And I mean sure, Josephine is cute and all..
Both Cassandra and Josephine have their issues but all things considered, Josephine makes for a better romantic partner whereas Cassandra makes for a better friend. That's how I feel about them. Yep, personal opinion time.
As I see it, Josephine's romance has two cons (nitpicking mode active):-
1) As an adventuring protagonist, you will naturally spend far less time with an advisor over a follower, that's just a fact. So technically, Cassandra can spend more time with the Inquisitor versus Josephine.
2) The ambiguity of the Inquisitor having had sex with Josephine. I suspect its because Bioware wanted to keep the whole "Disney Princess" vibe.
Other than that though, Josephine is brilliant.
1) Josephine is younger than Cassandra. Since I don't have the older women fetish, all things being equal, I would take the younger female adult over the older one.
2) Josephine is prettier to me. Both of them have nice bodies but I still find Cassandra's highly angular face somewhat off-putting on occasions.
3) Josephine is the kind of woman you can bring out on a dinner date or watch a nice movie or go to the casino or just sit by the fire lounging and have a great time. Cassandra is the kind of woman you take with you to the church or to the sparring range. One is fun while the other is business.
4) Josephine's family is far more stable than Cassandra's family.
So yeah, Josie = LTR GF material ; Cassandra = friend and comrade-at-arms material.
Now before you get your undies in a twist, I did say its my personal opinion.

Lack of choice in the romance is one of the problems. You can only turn her down before the romance starts or when her becoming Divine comes up.
A few things. The Elder King already pointed out the main one.

How the romance, without any input from me the player, forced the Inquisitor and Cassandra to have sex to continue the romance.

No worries, I don't have a deep attachment sort of complex thing going on here, as stated Josephine seemed cute and all that.

Hm, well I may get back to look at the romance in more detail at some point here, not super familiar with Josephines on the whole.

@Bayonet Hipshot: I was just referring to the romance arc, not her being good or a better person then Josephine or Cassandra. Morrigan is one of my favourite characters, but I wouldn't say she's a better person then Josephine.
As for liking a character or her romance arc more then the other, I do agree that it's based on a personal opinion. I don't have problems with people liking Josephin or her romance more then Morrigan and Cassandra. It's just that for my canon Warden (which is by far the best roleplay experience I had so far in DA without considering Morrigan's romance arc, and I did have others I greatly enjoyed), Morrigan's romance arc was the best fit. Which is further increased in DAI, so hers is at the moment my favourite romance arc. I stil lgreatly enjoyed others, including Jospehine's and Cassandra's.

How appropriate that she would be blushing. If I'm not mistaken, it is mentioned in Magekiller that the Swords and Shields books are rather spicy.

"The night had been cold, all the colder without the arms of her true love for shelter. She had dared everything for him, and now he was gone, and the doubt plagued her incessantly. Had her heart been betrayed? Led astray?"
Actually that sounds more like an Harlequin romance than, let's say, Fifty shades of Gray. (Harlequin romances have their very own brand of shame though, no wonder Varric wanted nothing to do with that series anymore. *coughs*) ![]()
