I hate how that stupid joke became canon. 

 

It's been semi-canon since DA2, because Swords and Shields is clearly a rewrite of the friendfiction Varric and Isabela wrote about Aveline/Donnic. I suspect if we ever got our hands on a copy, she'd be listed as the co-author.

I hope we'll get to read Swords and Shields in DA4 like we got to read Hard in Hightown in DA:I.

I think Cassandra romance would have been one of the best in the series hands down if they did not miss a opportunity in trespassers by not really getting into the effects of Divine Cassandra romance. A couple years have past and with both the Inquisitor and Divine settled into their respective roles it would have been nice to see them deal with the effects of being two of the most powerful people in southern Thedas and try to maintain a relationship as a power couple. And maybe even change her perspective on the relationship and end up with a wedding scene or have it crumble under the pressure. As great as Cassandra romance was even being my canon one there was just so much more meat left in that story that was unexplored

Varric: Why you really kept me around after Haven... you couldn't resist being around dwarven eyecandy.

Cass: Ugh!

Cadash: Varric, please stop...

Varric: Don't worry Salroka, this dwarf is already spoken for. Also, Bianca hasn't tried stabbing me nearly as much.

Varric: Both. It's one of the many appealing qualities they share.

 

Seems like something he'd have a fun playfully teasing her about.

I'm so glad this thread exists, because now there is place to share my love for Cassandra. I recently began playing this game and Cassandra is my favorite romance. I'm on my second playthrough and I had a plan of romancing Sera, but I could not bring myself to. I'm hoping that there is a possibility for another romance with Cassandra in DA4. Fingers crossed!

Welcome to the thread! And well, unless the Inquisitor is the protagonist in DA4, there is pretty much no way for Cass to be romanceable once again. And if the Inquisitor is the DA4 protagonist, then it will be a new chapter in their love story, not another romance. How could Bioware justify that Cass would be the first romance partner ever to leave the man she loves "always and forever" for someone else in a new game? Way to flip the finger and rubb it on the face of everyone who romanced her in DA:I, wouldn't you say? No mention she can also be the Divine, and not the one who decided that "**** the rulez, love for all!".

 

However I sure hope we will have either a cameo of Cass or mentions of how she and Quizzie are happy together or both, dammit!

Here's hoping for another Awakening where we can build a new pc from scratch OR glomph back onto our Inquisitor like a familiar old pair of sweatpants.

Ah, that's what I meant. I hope that there will be new chapter to their love story. But a mention of what the future was like for the inquisitor and Cassandra would be great
