Well eh, it was hard for my Lavellen Quizzie to get use to the world of the Shem... He didn't really like the Chantry, and was disgusted at what the mages did to Redcliffe, so maybe Cassandra was like that one person who didn't call him out on being Dalish, lol. I mean, in turns of wimpiness he became less wimpier at the end of DAI, as he was a Knight Enchantor, so...

I was playing the game and while I was trying to understand the characters better, something occurred to me and that is this:- Cassandra's everyday life is not properly explored very much.
By this I mean we do not actually know what Cassandra does outside of fighting and being a Seeker very much.
By contrast, Cullen spends his free time playing chess, Dorian spends his free time getting drunk by smuggling drinks from the cellar, Blackwall spends his free time making wooden carvings, Solas spends his free time drawing, Iron Bull spends his free time f*cking around or with the Bulls' Chargers or drinking, Sera spends her free time pranking people, Varric plays card games, Cole spends his free time being Cole, etc.
Sure we know Cassandra reads smutty literature and that is something that is interesting and adorable about her but I don't think she does that all the time. I am sure she also prays and trains but that's not the same as, well, having a hobby like painting (Solas) or wood carving (Blackwall) or chess (Cullen) or playing cards (Varric).
So what do you think Cassandra does in her free time ?

She probably just reads. She isn't very artistically minded, and she puts an extreme amount of pressure on herself when it comes to her duties. Honing a hobby related skill would actually cut into time she'd otherwise be training or getting work done, whereas reading doesn't require as much investment. She can do it in brief periods of down time, without any set up (painting and woodworking) or any affect or involvement with someone else's time and availability (cards and chess).

But you do think Cullen, Dorian, Blackwall, Solas, IB, Sera, Varric, and Cole do the one aforementioned hobby each all the time? If you consider it likely that Varric plays card games throughout all of his free time, why would it be less likely for Cassandra to read all the time?

The whole point of being Divine is that you can wear a stupid hat and no one will give you guff over it.

I image my Romanced Divine Leliana has dignity because she's the Mistress to a Prince. I image my Prince Consort is swagging around everyone, delcaring he's married and fallen in love with the most powerful ladies in all of Thedas. But I'm glad my Canon Lavellan's Cassandra isn't divine, i hate that hat, and I wanted him to marry her someday...

And because she wants a large. expensive wedding, that's why . You could say that about Josie too, because you can't get married to her either.

Sylvia Feketekuty, Josephine's writer explained why Josephine and Inquisitor did not get married (from Josephine fan thread):-
Regarding the reason Josephine's romance content went the way it did. Her writer Sylvia tweeted the stuff below. I decoded it but since she encrypted it I'll keep it in a spoiler tag.
Spoiler
So Josephine does not get married in Trespasser not because the Inquisitor was not romantic enough, but because she would want a proper wedding with her family, who is currently in Antiva. Also, Sylvia heartily endorses Josephine-Inquisitor marriage headcannons. Gaider has done no such thing with Cassandra or even explained why Cassandra said the Inquisitor is not romantic enough.
Face it, Cassandra's just overly entitled.

No, she's royality, so yeah, she want's a big expensive wedding - plus it's her first time getting married, so she's bound to want it that way anyhow.

Cassandra gives next to zero f*cks about her royalty and this is demonstrated multiple times throughout the game. She doesn't really enjoy much of anything that nobles typically do. She doesn't enjoy fancy dresses, she doesn't enjoy court intrigues, she doesn't enjoy grand balls, etc.
Why would her royalty magically matter when it comes to marriage ?

Off topic, but since the forums are closing on August 26, feel free to friend me on whatever gaming services you use (PM me and I'll send you my info). I'm on Steam, Xbox Live, and PSN (though my PSN is mostly just so I can buy stuff from the Playstation Store, I don't have any MP-compatible Playstation games). There are a few people on these boards who I will legitimately miss conversing with.
