Lol what's with all the Solas hate in here, anyway?

Solas is my Merlin. Dude kept you alive after you got the mark and gave you a castle. What's there to hate, really. His popularity? Boys will be boys, I guess.

I dont hate him, I just find him a lunatic and I want to kill him because I know he will not stop while he is alive.

I hate Alistair, Merrill and Samson.

I like Solas, but at the same time, I hope I can crush him sooner or later. I don't like any of his stances... but he's a fun character all the same.

I think its not really "off-topic" when its about DA.

Not to mention Cassandra respects Solas anyhow. He is awesome and you know it. The way he talks, walks, its just Ironclad.

Also stop calling him names lol, If I didn't like Cassandra a lot, there are thousands of names I can think of to use right this minute.

"Don't you bad mouth my husbando!" :P

In her first conversation she says she stopped down being the ambassador in Orlais to join the Inquisition.

I meant when she was a bard back in Orlesian finishing school

You're the last person to talk about what should and shouldn't be discussed in the Cassandra thread :P

Just the opposite really.

I'm the perfect person for it.

Oh... You need to tell me about everything you know of! Since you seem to know everything about Solas.
Most things about Solas is left to interpretation. When he woke up he was very weak, so do you think he gift wrapped the orb and "give" it to Corypheus. The word "give" here is pretty much left for interpretation. Corypheus could have easily taken it from him. But that doesn't change the fact that he saved Inquisitor's life and also saved Inquisition itself by leading it to Skyhold. Flemeth (Mythal) did the same to Hawke and Warden. No matte how much you hate it, Elven gods are pulling the strings and have saved humanity itself whether directly or indirectly.
He didn't kill Mythal, he killed her host. Mythal is most likely alive, inside Solas. I don't think the world will miss Flemeth.

People can have opinions, but mental illness is not subjective.

Sorry if I dont feel gratitude for him to saving the Inquisitor from something he created.
And I dont think "giving" can be interpretares as someone talking it.
Doesnt matter what you have to say, he is a lunatic to me.

Lunatic is an informal term referring to people who are considered mentally ill, dangerous, foolish or unpredictable. Thats exactly how I would describe Solas.

Better than leaving you dead. A willingness to fix the mess he helped create, that's more than you can say for most people, let alone DA characters.

You're gonna have to do more than yell "Lalalala, lunatic!" When you use such adjectives or you'll start to sound like one ;)

Bioware spoiled me, specifically with Solas and Dorian. I wanted a more sane Anders with his awakening attitude. I got Dorian. Solas was a nice surprise.

I also got Cole and immediately adopted him   This cute little boy killed Lambert, what's there not to love? I admit he is a bit creepy, but it adds to his charm.

Cassandra! I wish I could call her sis lol. It would be appropriate for me as that's how I feel about her.

Varric. Bros forever.

Leliana! FANGIRL MODE ACTIVE.

I don't think I ever liked this many characters in a single game.

Why....

The mentally ill part is the most important aspect for someone actually being a lunatic. By your loose interpretation, everyone in dragon age is a lunatic.

Actually, yea that sounds about right, lol. In fact, Solas seems more sane than the majority of people we've met.

I think the line the Inquisitor has after Haven... the one about everything starting because of "fanatics" and how we should take care of this world..

It applies to Solas too.

Lol this is the argument of someone who knows they're exaggerating but stubbornly refuses to admit it. ;) Likely from irrational dislike of someone or something.

Just sayin.

Nope.

From Fiona, Adrian, Decimus to Avernus to Cory.

Mage crackpots outnumber normal people.

He's about like Cory.

No wonder they got along

They share the same delusion of resurrection of something long dead

I don't think Solas is going to raise an army to attack Thedas. If he is going to do something, its going to be subtle and on grounded level. Also as he has shown, he cares for all elves but city elves more than Dalish. That alone garners respect. Here you are talking about problems and lunacy and ignoring city elves. Its unnatural to not feel sympathy for city elves. They have done nothing wrong and they continue to suffer, meaninglessly and extensively.

I don't think he'd do that either. I think he's well meaning actually.

It's just his philosophy about the Veil I don't care for. I don't want a world like that.

I'm not always sure how much he does either though. He's the Trickster...he's duplicitous.

The guy think he alone can save the elves, but he doesnt like the new elves, he want to bring back the ones who are long dead.
He is ready to make extreme measures to accomplish his objectives, be it giving his orb to a Darkspawn magister (who would think its a good idea) or killing someone he consider a friend to ursurper her power.
He is delusional, he is ready to kill a lot of innocent people and I think he is suffering from a trauma, from awekening mind find his actions led the elves to their destruction.

Still I dont hate him, that just my interpretation of him. You can disagree with me if you want, Im not trying to convince you.

Morrigan, Wynne, Solas, Isseya, the last inquisitor, are more sane than many characters we've met. Vivienne too, forgot her.

Then you've got the damn Orlesians, and the majority of Templars on the opposite end.....

Ignorance of the world around them, often a big source to crazy people.
