I wrote a fan fiction about a invasion of Tevinter...

Mmm. Have the South hook up with Rivain, Antiva, and the Felicisima to hit the Kont-Aar, and frustrate the Oxmen's efforts along the Northern Passage and Venefication. The North moves to take Seheron, and then joins up for a two-pronged invasion of Par Vollen, or maybe one massive strike at Qunandar.

Set in 9:89 Dragon with the Ascendency of Divine Clemence the fourth which was preceded the by of the Ascendency of Arnaud Valmont who succeeded Emperor Gaspard who ruled unopposed for thirty fours years before dying in his sleep at the age of 102 in Dragon:76

Arnaud is Gaspard's only legitimate child and heir (born in 9:49 dragon) and upon taking the throne is entrusted with military powerhouse Gaspard spent his reign remaking Orlais into.

Barely two weeks into his reign under his order Orlais retakes Perendale without casualty when the orlesian citizenry rebels upon noting the oncoming army.

Nevarra protests the move under its territory but is placated when Orlais promises further trade to aid in its rebuilding after the 17 year long civil war that raged after the death of King Markus.

Elsewhere in Thedas Fereldan is becoming a moderate financial power due its increasing prominence in regional trade despite its hardship it faced in 9:57 with the extinction of the Therin dynasty when Alistair went to his calling.

With Thedas growing stronger under a collective peace unknown for centuries there are covert talks between various nations to resume a war a blight postponed centuries before.

All of the new generation wish to live up to their legendary peers of the prior.

Its nearing the beginning of a new age and history will be written as the Dragon Age races to it's explosive conclusion.

Perhaps, but I prefer the two-pronged invasion... at least on paper. Better to stretch them until they break instead of pushing them into one giant slobberknocker over their capital.

True; if you could bog down their navy and break their logistical lines out of their controlled waters it leaves Par Vollen vulnerable, more then that it leaves the following invasion a clear path for victory.

Antiva could commit its ships to prong Sehron while the Marchers and Fereldan box any reinforcements, if Tevinter has any naval assets they could be useful here too.

Meanwhile you have the muscle, Orlais, the Anderfels and Nevarra prepping for the invasion proper.

They'd provide the bulk of the forces but their navies aren't up to snuff to act as a diversion.

And boom; you have the bulk of their defenses committed aboard while the true threat marches upwards, Tevinter would be the ideal launching ground for the invasion, if they'd allow literally millions of foreign soldiers in...its proximity to Seheron would be useful, and once its seized the island hopping can cease, they can build the Armada to wipe the Qunari from existence once and for all.

Its how I'd try to do it anyway...every nation, every people would need to get on board.

Mages and Archers on Griffons... that's the ideal darkspawn combatant, I think. But the big swinging 2hander is definitely useful too.

 

 

They need to go the Thedas version of Asia or Africa and get some elephants. That would help.

Look, I'm just saying.

The Tevinter Imperium imports war elephants from the Donarks and beyond. It's the usual method to put a howdah on top of an elephant, put a few archers in there. If you're a lunatic, you can go Medieval Total War 2 Timurid style and put a cannon in there.

I am willing to bet that the First Blight involved mages charging into darkspawn, flinging fireballs and lightning at Dumat from atop their elephants.

I once instigated about five pages of make-up tutorials in the Solas thread because we didn't have DLC and I was curious. I've seen similar levels of off-topicness in every character thread.

Oh get of your high horse..The other threads go off topic on a regular basis too. And what do the mods expect, really? Theres only so much we can disscuss about one character(until they bring new content). I'm an adult, I'll talk about what I like (within reason).

Alright, so we discuss the game here. Not necessarily everything directly related to Cass in the first place, but the game. And frequently, whatever the topic, somebody will make a connection to Cass and we speak about it. Obviously that's not what we're supposed to do here on the BSN.

Every time some name I've never read before pops up and accuses us of being off-topic and derailing the thread, pointing to the sword of Damocles that the thread might get closed and, uuhh, then it does get closed (or at least a mod shows up with a wagging forefinger). Sort of strange how this is the same in all the threads I've been active in. Seems like BioWare really doesn't like us to enjoy the game and talking about it.

 

That's like the advisors chatting along at the war table and somebody shouting through the door "no off-topic stuff in the war room, gentlemen!". Cass would disapprove so hard.

Most threads go off-topic like this. I don't think its really off-topic when we keep it about DA.

I'm not sure how someone doesn't get bored in DA when they "like humans". You have to like other people/factions to be able to enjoy the game. That's my take on it anyway.
