Yes I am Love the Avvar, love Vikings. I don't think they did a good job though with their look... I find it rather meh. They could have done better.

I would say the Vrykul from WoW are my favorite not-Vikings in fantasy. Their culture isn't all that similar to Vikings when you dig deeper into the lore, but their clothing and architecture is clearly made to resemble them, albeit with the trademark Warcraft style and flair and . Also, tons of gratuitous Norse and faux-Norse names everywhere.

 

 

 

... Really, everything about that expansion to WoW was perfect. The questing, the raiding, the lore, the loot grind, all of it was excellent.

That statement means nothing without context. There are also laws in Sweden that allow the government to take legal action against companies who don't have enough token women employees. But then Sweden is also clinically retarded as a country when one of their PM's says that having men in the workplace "creates more risk and a greater risk of corruption". The quotas aren't as bad as Norway, IIRC, over there it's mandatory to have 40% of the boardroom in large companies be women, otherwise the government can come in and seize the company's assets.

 

So they better get to hiring more women, it doesn't matter if they are qualified for the job, or even want the job. The business will sink otherwise.

Meh, lets blame the Dutch for encouraging unity and alliances instead of meaningless nationality pride and hostility.

 

Even Cassandra agrees with me in this. She believes Thedas must be united, All Orlesian, Nevarran and other people who think they are better than others just because their mother gave birth to them in a different location are to be blamed for many conflicts.

 

Multiculturalism, tolerance and unity is the future. Your own country is moving towards this, Norway has been instrumental in both Scandinavian unity and EU unity. This is also why Switzerland has the most effective government on the planet. Its confederation is so flawless that it has been unchanged since the birth of country. Its rules and regulations were and are several years ahead of most countries. 

 

The problems over Europe, and the formations of Ghetto's, says otherwise. Some cultures are just  incompatible, just ask countries now experiencing problems thanks to 'Multiculturalism'.

I'm a product of multiculturalism. I can't speak against it.

 

 

But I'm talking about race.... and food recipes... basically. People have to get along at least on the superficial levels.

 

I don't think that means you have to accept every philosophy. But that has nothing to with culture to me. And it's impossible anyways.

 

I can't awnser that, specifically, but people having sex with other races pre-dates multiculturalism.

So? The percentage of women in that company compared to the percentage of men means nothing at all. The quotas forced companies to arbitrarily hire people who may or may not have had any kind of qualifications, just so the government didn't seize their assets and shut them down. It doesn't mean they're flagrant misogynists. There is no tangible, discernible way the quotas work in any capacity. It's inclusion for the sake of inclusion (and for protection), not because it produces results. The fact that women are already employed in those business shows that women can enter into them. At that point, the only thing preventing women from entering is themselves, either by choosing not to work there or by leaving if they do already. And yes, the numbers will go down after the quotas are rescinded, because companies that aren't mega conglomerates typically can't afford to effectively double their employee base and maintain it for very long, especially when the newly hired employees could be underqualified, or have no qualifications at all.

 

Damn I haven't played WoW in years.. I didn't know they put Vikings in it. Are they a playable race?

 

 

Not that I could bring myself to play, but that'd be a cool option.

I think hiring quotas are dumb but that may be because my company hires exclusively for skill, and experience across the 27 countries it operates in. You wouldn't find someone fresh out of primary school in any of the offices from Sussex to Bangladesh.
