I guess if you're comfortable buying sets of clothes that cost about as much money as a mid-ranged car, sure. Or are you going to tell me that you make 6 or 7 figures every year and have to decide whether to drive your Ferrari or Koenigsegg to work every day?

I'm comfortable with what I make a year but no I don't have a Ferrari or Koenisegg.

I drive a 2013 Altimia coup

Before that it was a 1999 150

Oh, my first car was a Nissan.

But to be on topic.

What sort of car would Cass drive if she lived in our time?

I'm thinking Cadillac for some reason. Both an Escalade or the *TS cars. Glossy black, of course.

My second choice is a Porsche, but a Caddy looks like it could smash through things....with style.

Dawww, the feeling is mutual, sug. Even if you are a pouch dweller. :P

Sure is nice and warm, and furry. I'll go into your pouch anytime :P

So? The percentage of women in that company compared to the percentage of men means nothing at all. The quotas forced companies to arbitrarily hire people who may or may not have had any kind of qualifications, just so the government didn't seize their assets and shut them down. It doesn't mean they're flagrant misogynists. There is no tangible, discernible way the quotas work in any capacity. It's inclusion for the sake of inclusion (and for protection), not because it produces results. The fact that women are already employed in those business shows that women can enter into them. At that point, the only thing preventing women from entering is themselves, either by choosing not to work there or by leaving if they do already. And yes, the numbers will go down after the quotas are rescinded, because companies that aren't mega conglomerates typically can't afford to effectively double their employee base and maintain it for very long, especially when the newly hired employees could be underqualified, or have no qualifications at all.

No, they're an enemy faction in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion.

Sigh, they removed it for years, and the drops in female employment were significant across the corporate sector, especially. I can't speak for every country, but the stats, here show a significant bias against hiring woman. When you have hundreds of thousands of woman, with similar experience levels, and qualifications  being  rejected for men the majority of the time, across multiple sectors, there is clearly a problem.

A Pagani Huayra, if only because that's my favorite car.

Or a Lykan Hypersport, if only because those are silly with how extravagant they are. Literally has precious gems studded in the headlights and taillights, and it looks like a Decepticon from Transformers in car mode.

Yeah, it's easy to invent a problem when you have no context for those statistics and don't look at any possible outside factors. I'm sure it's just rampant sexism keeping those women out of the workplace in the modern first-world (even though in every Western nation there are laws that make that illegal in the hiring process), Occam's Razor be damned. There's no confirmation bias going on with you at all.

Best reason to have women in the workplace is to not have such a sausage fest. Why would you even want to work with a bunch of dudes? :D

This is the exact reason why the quotas are a bad thing. It's token inclusion for the sake of inclusion. It's bad for the company not only because they are paying MORE employees who may not be qualified for their position (and so losing money that could be invested elsewhere for something actually productive), but also because no self respecting woman would feel like she's a valued employee when she's hired solely based on her genitalia and not because of her merit.

I didn't say anything about genitalia (except the sausage fest bit.. but that's male genitalia). I like the company of women. And just the general "aesthetic" of having different people in my environment. Just like in any social space.

I know, I was just isolating that one comment and using it to highlight my point, because it perfectly describes the issue.

Fair enough.

I feel kind of.... ambivalent about this new playthrough of mine. About the whole game really. I'm taking my time. I've only just met Fiona and Blackwall and spoken to Cass once. But I started this character like 3 days ago.

They should, but, sadly, they do not.

m.It's not as simple as merely sexisism, their are psychological behaviours, demographics, cultural, and religious factors at play as well. As for laws, well, Law(here) is not accessible to everyone despite leftists claiming otherwise. So how do you fairly apply the law, when a rich man can afford the best lawyers in the world, and a poor person has no chance of being able to fight it? How do you further address that, when governments have limited budgets to programs like Legal aid?

Sexisim exists, with both genders for various reasons. The female quota, may not be the best solution, but it has proven to work for the most part. The same thing goes for male quotas in areas like teaching ect.ect.

Honestly, you sound as if your on automatic defence from encountering too many tumblirinas.

You're right, they should. Which is why quotas are ****ing stupid.

You're probably right. It's not sexism, it's the patriarchy and toxic masculinity.

As for laws, well, Law(here) is not accessible to everyone despite leftists claiming otherwise.

If you live in a country that isn't a total anarchy, it's laws apply to you by default.

So how do you fairly apply the law, when a rich man can afford the best lawyers in the world, and a poor person has no chance of being able to fight it? How do you further address that, when governments have limited budgets to programs like Legal aid?

I think you've lost the plot.

"Proven to work". lol, funny joke. The only thing quotas have done is make companies hastily employ people, with no regard for their qualifications. So yes, while more women were working while they were in effect, it was because they HAD to be working, otherwise the company would have shut down. You cannot prove in any way that the women hired had any kind of adequate skill set to benefit the company at all. You throw around numbers and fail to look at context.

Honestly, you sound as if your on automatic defence from encountering too many tumblirinas.

Or, and bear with me here, maybe what you're saying is wrong. It is a wild anomaly, I know.
