The mages need the Tranquils, without them they cant make money from enchantments, and without the money they cant support the Circle/Bright Hand/College.Yeah, I know.. Like I said, if there was a way to be reliable, it might be better.
Also depends if you want Enchantment or Magic support.. maybe Tranquil are still more useful in the longrun.
The epilogue only says she leash the templars to her, never stated she took away their authority over mages.
And they can be glorified watch dogs, I don't mind, they still doing their job.
It becomes obvious if Templars rebel in her epilogue. She takes their authority away from mages. She directly controls everything.
And yet you miss the irony of this. That is EXACTLY what Fiona wanted with her vote. To remove Templars from power and make mages more independent from Templars. Templars would purely exist to prevent disasters when something goes wrong, nothing else.

The only reason I don't like going for Vivienne over Cass is because the symbolism going on there..... At least the symbolism I see. I feel a bit like Maferath. "Jealous of the Maker".. lol
I can sort of view a male Herald's story (with Cass) as repeating Maferath's mistake or making up for it.

Yes, yes. We know you're sick.
Sad that you're a physician too, aren't you? ![]()

Not you then. Hmm..I've been away from this section too long. I don't know why I thought that.

I WISH I was a doctor. Then I could be making some money 'round here.
I was thinking maybe I should save Hushed Whispers for a mage, but that's kind of too predictable, isn't it? I've never actually played it before... I don't know if I should waste the opportunity on my warrior now.
I know you've already made your decision, but having done both a couple times I do find In Hushed Whispers much more enjoyable, even though I greatly prefer the storyline of Champions of the Just. That whole "defend the great hall" gimmick does get tiresome rather quickly.
That, and the music for In Hushed Whispers and Alexius' theme is just... there's just no contest.
The templars never rebel in her epilogue, the only they have something "close" is when they refused to rejoin the Chantry and formed the Silver Shield Order. Vivienne even let them be.It becomes obvious if Templars rebel in her epilogue. She takes their authority away from mages. She directly controls everything.

Just use stealth to bypass the enemies and reach the liutenants and Lyrium. My rant above though is that possession itself, as an concept, is becoming a "benign" thing in this setting too. Even that has to have a "good" side now.
I'm getting tired of their compulsion to show a "good side" to the most disquieting sh*t. Spirits and Qunari especially. F*ck both of these things.
If you want to know why people side with Templars, it's because of this. We like a little normalcy and sanity. A little craziness is fun, but not going all out with it.
To learn that the Seekers had been courting spirits for centuries...

I was using a 2h warrior at the time, and Varric didn't have stealth. Come to think of it, 2h is probably the kit that gets the toughest time on this mission.

Wait, the original thread was deleted because people got mad over Leliana becoming divine? The f***? That's my canon ending. With my Qunquisitor riding off into the sunset with Cass.
Damn, people take this stuff WAY too seriously. At least as far as discussing things on here go.

Yeah, it's not good.. I feel sorry for Cass, since it helped root her faith. Now Cole of all people sympathizes and relates to her...as her human counterpart or something.
And then there's people who want to add Cass-Qun Necromancer on top of that.
How the mighty have fallen. Or can fall. She encapsulates the Chantry at it's best, but also at it's lowest point.

Is it really so surprising? Most of the people who post here are either pro-templar or hate Leliana. It's funny how it all started simply because magic only said he was going to make a playthrough with Leliana as Divine. Funny how some people can't accept making different playthroughs with different choices you don't agree with.

I really didn't expect that. I probably wouldn't say anything if I knew it'd rile people up.
To me, Cass and Leliana belong in the same context.. They're different, but I don't understand hating one and liking the other.
And like I said about Cass above, I feel sorry for Leliana too. Everything in the Chantry is broken.... and these two reflect it.
I still can't get my head around the authority we wield over either one. They're both wonderful characters. I hate how they become victims/tools of our actions, so easily. This is probbably why people get annoyed at other people's playthroughs though. The amount of possibilties.. the different permutations of things you're attached to.
It wasnt because we discussed Leliana, it was because we went very off topic about tumblr.I really didn't expect that. I probably wouldn't say anything if I knew it'd rile people up.

I'd be a little more open to different playthroughs if the Inquisitor himself was always awesome. As it is, the Inquisitor even at the best of times isn't that interesting. They needed more setup.
I, for one, don't like seeing cool characters become victims and tools of a less interesting character.
Speaking of which, it's kind of like what I said about Spirits and Mages earlier. ![]()

Well I think "spirit courting" is good practice. The Seekers were in no danger after the vigil and the abilities were worth it as it didn't cause any change in people other than granting the abilities.
The fact that they lied and manipulated half of Thedas for almost a thousand year is the disturbing part.
