I've been working my way down this chronological list to avoid any spoilers: https://answers.yaho...20113135AA0vIdS

I've just finished DA2, watched DA: Redemption, and by that list, the next thing I should do is play the DA: Legends game, but both of the World of Thedas volumes and Last Flight aren't listed there.  When should I read each of those books?

Mmmm...Last Flight , I guess before playing Dragon Age Inquisition.

World of Thedas 1 you can read before DAI too.

And World of Thedas 2 after Inquisition.

Thanks for the quick reply!  Do you think the Legends game is worth playing?  And how about the rest of the list; does it look OK sequentially to you?

DA:O (Leliana's Song DLC)

Dragon Age (6 issues published by IDW)

Dragon Age: Origins (including The Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep and Return to Ostigar DLC)

DAO (The Golems of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt DLC)

Dragon Age 2 (takes place over 10 years)

Dragon Age: Redemption (YouTube series that featured Felicia Day)

There's also the turn based online card game The Last Court which features Serault - that takes place just before Inquisition when the Divine visits there on her way to the conclave (it's referenced in the game)

A Tale of Orzammar is missing from the list... as a prequel of sorts to the Dwarf Noble origin, it falls chronologically prior to DA:O.

Thank you all for the input.  I was not aware of those other games.  I'm giving Legends a try now that I finally found an original copy of it (thank goodness for the Internet Way Back Machine!), and am itching to read something.  I'm either going with WoT Vol.1 or Asunder.  It's nice to have a plethora of materials to look forward to! There's one thing that stand out the most to me on that list: should all of the comics really come after both Asunder and The Masked Empire?  The publish date for The Masked Empire is more than a year after all the comic series final issues were printed.

Masked Empire takes place in Orlais and follows the events leading up to the civil war - even though it was published later, it covers events that happen earlier... if that makes sense.

I don't think legends has any connection to the story at all.

There first few parts ofWoT Vol2 that you can read before DA:I , though there isn't much to do with DA:I in the book

Thanks once again for the added input on both The Masked Empire and Legends.  I'm not sure if I'm going to stick with Legends if there's no story-related information in it.

I just finished reading Asunder--it was fantastic.  Each of Mr. Gaider's novels have been better than the previous, and I thought both The Calling and Asunder stood well on their own as good novels even if I wasn't eager for the tie to the universe.  There's no doubt where some of the superb content throughout the franchise is coming from.  I hope he writes another one at some point.  It's great to find supplementary materials that aren't just out to soak one's interest in the series for cash and granting little return.
