How do you prefer to play? Do you go for your favourite kits, do you pick your load out based on upcoming challenge completions, or do you go for what you know, after 10 hours of intricate calculations, will give you the biggest damage output?

I pick whatever I feel like playing at that moment (which changes every match - this is why, if you've ever bumped into me in PUGland, I probably left the lobby after one match) but I get the impression that I'm in the minority.

I ran a Scimitar with a Shuriken back up one match, the next I ran a Talon GI. I basically play what I want at the time but I get pissed sometimes and just want to wreck the ****** game if I have something that didn't turn out great for me.

I try to work for dps. Given that my manifest is not maxed and most people have better URs unlocked than I do (even if they are low-level), it makes the most sense because it takes forever for me to kill stuff with subpar weapons. I usually end up playing with characters with grenades or ones that are good with shotguns, because that is my favorite way to play.

I play what I feel at the moment. Lately it's a lot of goofy stuff to show that weapons or characters that are perceived as "bad" can do work in the field. 

 

I especially love it when someone in a pug lobby say a character sucks, then I play the exact same setup they had to show them it can be done if you just git gud.

Depends on how I am feeling, I too sometimes play with high DPS kits, usually my first game of the day in Plat.

 

But I rather enjoy increasing the size of my epeen by playing in Plat Pub Lobbies with starter weapons or bad synergies on my kits.  I also find that using low level gear in these lobbies(I and IIs) significantly increases ePeen size as well.

Random class picks. Though usually it's the favorites from each. Some kits I just don't like enough to use on a regular basis. I also tend to do a lot of lobby surfing when I'm switching up kits a lot.

I have a few characters that I run for each gun class.  I then pick around whatever gun amps I have.

Then for challenge points, I  might play 'with bias' in that I might prefer to finish a challenge from the whats nearly done list on the N7HQ.

 

Unless DPS stands for 'do pour sum-more' I ain't interested.

None of these, because skill is measured solely by N7 ranks .

On topic: I usually play to farm CP, but that doesn't means I'm not having fun nor dealing high dps.

Don't care about maximizing DPS unless I'm soloing or doing some challenge.

 

I don't particularly go after challenge completion either. I rotate through weapons and characters A LOT, so the challenges get completed on their own.

 

I just pick a character, equip a gun that works with the playstyle I have in mind and roll. I very rarely play infiltrators or use guns like wraith, talon, hurricane, harrier, arc pistol in pugs. It's not fun for me. 

 

Every pug session, I play a game with at least one of the following: smashbros, drell adept, drellguard and SE. They are my top 5 characters.

Back in the day I would play a bit of everything. Now? I only play a few matches a month (if that) so I just go for the kits I personally enjoy the most.

P.S. I still can't believe this game is over 3 years old.

I have my Vorcha Engineer, Shadow, AIU, Drell Assassin, Cabal, and Volus Adept all built for melee.

Usually, after having been away from the game, I start with what I'm most comfortable with. Then move outwards towards kits/weapons that I remember being good with, then outwards towards kits I need to brush up on...usually somewhere in between all that are some horrendous matches, then I do what Nuke said above and just pull out GI and "rage play" until I'm calmer.

 

rinse and repeat.

Whatever I want. A lot of times if I'm really close to finishing a particular challenge, I'll go for it's completion unless it's an oh god why do I hate myself weapon/kit (read I need to get good with a lot of things). Don't like it kick me or find a new lobby that's my outlook
