Call me crazy (& now I've said that someone will), but when I first saw the list of challenges I was convinced Bioware was leading up to something, now, after reading this thread, I'm certain of it.

reading between the lines, snd I may well be wrong, but this seems like a way for people who are still playing to save up heaps of gold for a DLC thats about ready to drop...

It had better be. A month in Beta just for a patch is ridiculous. Don't they have real QA testers for this kind of stuff? Relying on the community to test content for free is pretty irresponsible.
The unyielding bit is getting on my nerves. Seems like I have to run solo or with my hubby, because there always seems to be some guy that joins and dies straight away. Something that made me really mad is that me and my hubby were running a game. We reached the final zone, started killing enemies and then somebody joined that died almost instantly. He then left straight away. For a brief moment we were hoping that it hadn't destroyed our unyielding, but it turned out it had. So eventhough nor I or hubby had died and we were the only ones on the team, it didn't count for the challenge.Thanks for that trolling! *grumbles*
I really wish the whole team didn't have to avoid dying, because if you don't have reliable friends to play with, you tend to end up with idiots...Especially now with the points challenge where you have to play perilous to avoid playing a lot of games. Makes every noob wanna try it out, although they're not ready.
For the Undying II challenge.. Had to cheat and dropped down to Routine lol had my last 2 rds with a good player.. Sorry I left..
I totally shoulda hit you up last night. I ended up soloing and then was too tired to finish up. First time in a number of weeks I didn't complete Friday night. Back at it today, I guess. Locked up in my private room. Yeah, this should be fun.

All public betas for games or software in general are when the internal QA team have pretty much done their job - community input gives insight and feedback for things like balance or usability. The comments we put on this forum "hey this is OP!" can't easily be fixed on the released game without patches. And those who participate volunteered to do so.

Hah, from what I've heard from the beta players for this game that isn't true at all. The beta builds they get are frequently a complete mess. If it were simply a "everything's done, just take an early look" kind of thing, there would be more than six people in the public beta.
PS3 undying is only at first star, 4600 points so a bit under third of the way done. It's going to be a close one.
I used to love the challenges.. but since they made absolutely every weapon, accessory and armours easily obtainable in just a few weeks for every player, (and I have everything I could ever want at the mo) I am losing interest.. I am at a decent level but the game can still be challenging for me at times and its not always a walk in the park like it is for some..
I will probably play a few games over the next few days but not for the challenges cause I have nothing else to get.. need new content!
Let's see... I stopped playing weekend challenges because I didn't want to have to play 6 solos every weekend in order to complete them.
Come back after long absence, check the challenge - and it needs me to solo six times in a weekend.
It's a good thing I don't care about challenge points or building my manifest. 
I pugged all 6 games straight away and it wasn´t even routine. You need a bit of luck, but it´s doable.

Yeah, i booted up a pug match to quickly get rid of the challenge but had some idiot dwarf die during both of my tries. Switched to normal Perilous matches because whatever and had a great team who we did 6+ rounds of no one dying for. Pretty great.

In a couple of my pugs yesterday everyone did really well and stayed alive, only to have someone die a few seconds before the end of 5/5. Womp womp 
Well, after 2 hours of trying, I haven't made any progress on the challenges. Only now, instead of having played the game for 2 hours and enjoying myself, I've been feeling frustrated at my lack of progress (but I have only me to blame, since I knew better than to bother with the challenges in the first place.)
