BioWare Reacts! Mass Effect: Andromeda

We gave you the announce trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda. Fans proceeded to record their reactions and post them to YouTube, and a question arose: how would we react to your reactions? Here are the results.

A big thank you to all who watched the trailer and recorded reaction videos. We love you all! Here are the videos we reacted to:

One of them is wearing a Cyberpunk shirt. I can tell that guy has good taste. If the ME:A devs take a good look at CDPR's games then there might be hope for ME:A yet.

I saw the blog post earlier today and well... what the ****, BioWare? You react on Twitter, you turn up on Reddit, you allow your fans to praise you on Facebook and now even on youtube... but here, in your very own forum there are hundreds of threads, thousands of reactions to your trailer. Many of them a lot more detailed and eloquent than those videos. I'd even say more honest, at least we do not fake reactions. FFS, take some acting classes if you want to appear in front of a camera.

So thanks again for nothing. At this point we don't even know if anyone at BioWare (aside from the tech guys keeping this forum running) are even reading here anymore. Would it kill you to at least mention us? Acknowledge that you have fans here that are still passionate about your franchises?

Meh. Reactions to reactions. Awesome.

While I hate the Witcher games, I am tentatively excited about CDPR doing Cyberpunk 2077. Thankfully they have the creator working with them and we can make our own character, so hopefully it isn't like the Witcher franchise.

I think it's because I'm really tired and a little grumpy, but I did put this up as a comment.  I doubt they'll read it, but I wanted to try:

You know, it would be awesome if you swung by the official forums and talked to your fans there about their thoughts.  The devs show up here, on twitter, on FB  and even on Reddit.  Aside from a couple of announcement threads, only a couple of BW devs has been around for the last several months.  Please come and interact with the fans on the forums.  I know some are jerks, but try using the ignore list and logging in anonymously.  Most of us are actually nice and would love a chance to talk to you on the forums.  It would mean a lot.  :)

I agree on the devs posting more and Aknowledging people in the forum. I disagree on the fake reactions. Though I didn't see one video They mentioned.

"Hey dog, I heard you like reactions so we put some reactions in your reactions so you can react while you react."

or

"Reactception."

?

Gaider answered one of my PMs for DAI. That was kind of nice.... knowing that he dislikes the forums. But now he's gone, I guess.

I haven't seen anyone official for ME in awhile though. Maybe for good reason.

I was talking about the fan videos. Those were mostly fake or at least overdone.

BioWare has a community manager. Someone whose job it is to interact with us, to poll our opinions, to collect and summarize our wishes and to go between the devs and us. He hasn't been active here for ages.

It isn't even remotely surprising that BSN is what it is and I blame BioWare for it. If there was a community manager (or several), if there was actual moderation instead of simply closing threads and suspending people and if BioWare acknowledged our existence and concerns, then the general tone in this forum would be vastly different.

Meh, said it all before. So pointless.

Barrett Rodych and Jos Hendriks, two of the devs, have been around even as of this week.  They've been posting in the Twitter thread.

The BioWare developers in general seem obsessed with any and all things twitter.  <sigh>

I've seen Allan on twitter, and he's busy working on ME:A at the moment.  He retweeted something about how nice the weather effects looked in the new game.  Plus, he also had jaw surgery a few months back and is only now back at 100%.  He just doesn't have time, far as I can tell.

DG, on the other hand...I've missed his presence quite a bit.  He has been around and has posted a little bit, but with him now working on the new IP, he doesn't have the time nor the energy to try to hang out on the forums.

I know. I watched the first three the OP mentioned And I don't think They were fake.
If with overdone You mean their reaction might be exaggerated, I think it depends on people. While I don't react like that, based on What I've read on BSN I'm sur there Are people Who react like that.

I hope he'll be back when he'll have more time.

Sadly, I doubt we'll see him much until closer to release.  And that's depending upon what kind of Q&A stuff he'll be working on .  When he would talk about it last year, he said that a Q&A person tends to work on more than one aspect of the game at a time.  I hope he will come back, when things aren't as crazy for him.  He had this great ability to calm a thread.

Also, I think it helped the morale on the forums somewhat.  Even if Allan isn't anyone particularly huge in the company, it seemed to help posters know that a developer was listening.  I knew that he couldn't do much, but when someone had a point or a good question and he'd say, "I'll pass it along" I would know that he would at least do that.  I've had some ideas on how to get the devs/writers involved with the forums without creating chum in the water, but I don't even know if they would be willing to hear that out.   :(

Heh.  We technically have one, but he's more of a Content Manager, despite his title on the forums.   He hasn't be online since February anyhow. http://forum.bioware...avid-hulegaard/

I've looked and we have no actual community manager active on the forums.  At all.   <_<

I thought of that and mentioned it sometime ago, but I had some other ideas.  I'll get into them later, when I've actually had some sleep.  I feel like this bout insomnia is finally letting go, and I'll be going to bed soon.

As of nasty and/or passionate as some fans here are I can't fault BioWare devs for not wanting to post here. I don't post here as much as I would like because the toxicity level here is sky high. I mean when devs would rather talk to fans on twitter or youtube comments than through it's own forums because of the toxicity is so bad then these boards has some serious problems.

So, do I go with
"Hey dog,Yo dawg I heard you like reactions so we put some reactions in your reactions so you can react while you react."

or

"Reactception."

?

Fixed.

Otherwise, while the video wasn't as entertaining as I thought it would be I did note a lightheartedness from this team I don't believe was there in the previous team. I'm taking that as a good thing. If they're chill and they've got skills, some good things may happen.

Well until Walters ruins it anyway. Was he in this? I don't know what he looks like and I don't feel like scrutinizing this any more.
