Well, as I recall DA:I was the first game of BioWare (haven't played games before origins/ME 1 except Kotor) with actual nudity in it. Do you think it was a good move of BioWare as it of course i an adult franchise and do you think they should put it also in the new Mass Effect?

I liked how DA:I handled it very much.

 

Always seemed silly to me that games can revel in gore but nudity is where the line is drawn.

Humans okay, but I really don't know if I want to see a naked Turian or Krogan, and I don't think they will ever show us Quarians without suits.

Well, this is going to go downhill fast, but I'll throw my 2 pennies in before that happens.

 

DAI handled nudity fairly well, there could have been more and still been tasteful, but DAI was a huge step up from DA2's nonsensical underwear fest (ditto for ME2/3).

 

The only other Bioware game to handle this well was ME1, and that limited its nudity to side boob, and used camera angles and obstacles to good effect. I would happy with either a ME1 style non-nudity, but no stupid underwear nonsense, or the DAI full nudity when appropriate.

 

Witcher 3 actually did a good job with this as well. (they went a little overboard in certain circumstances).

If we're talking about during romance scenes,  you can have either good or bad scenes with or without nudity. I don't think the nudity (or lack of it) determines whether or not a scene is good. If they opt to go for scenes that don't have nudity I hope they have more in common with Liara's scene at the end of Mass Effect 3 rather than something similar to Traynor's clothed showering. Use camera angles and lighting to hide or obscure the naughtier parts, while implying that the characters are nude. Whether the scene includes nudity or not, it should feel natural and the characters should behave as real world people do.

 

Having said that, I hate the double standard of someone's head exploding being perfectly fine but the minute there is some side boob or a naked bum some prudes are offended.

There was tons of discussion leading up to DAI's release, but post release I heard nothing about it, which is good.

ME1 did it best for me. I disagree with the people who think the display of nipples is a sign of a game's maturity.

I liked DAI Style , but......I wish they change the recipee . Of having to play a WHOLE Game to get there . And once it happen..Thats it ! Its over ! no more..... Is this a romance or a one time fling ?

I'm fine with either way, I think natural scenes are best. If people usually are naked doing sth then they should be naked so no sex scenes with underwears on, showering or going sauna with them. In other hand I don't think nudity is sth that the game can't be without as well, it's not completely needed either. I think it depends on romance scenes and what is most natural. Then again there should be tastefullness included as well so it looks good and not akward and showing characters equally nude (so no focus only on female nudity thanks ^^).

And I think if they did show below the waist, Mass Effect would have a huge drop in sells because of bans in some countries and careful parents.
