Because of the excessive resources they'd need to devote to the realistic consequences of the Herald of Andraste deciding to run around with no clothes. That sort of thing would provoke a massive reaction.

I don't think we need that. We can just let the player headcanon the relevant social mores.

Does the game ever actually tell us how society reacts to nudity, or even how it defines the term? Queen Victoria had a remarkably broad definition of "naked".

Anything not explicitly described is ambiguity available for the player to resolve as he sees fit.

Well, a player could headcanon that nudity is no big deal, right. Or a player could headcanon that nudity would be a big deal and just not run around nude.

 

I know in Skyrim if you werent wearing armor you got the impression your character was naked. The game may show undergarments but the people reacted to you as if you were baring it all out and in the nude. 

 

I actually only really care about nudity in romance scenes, it would be a nice extra to have the option to run around naked lol

Never say never. There was actually a ton of unmasked quarian concept art made by the official Mass Effect concept artist, but for some reason BioWare chose the cheap way out and simply photoshopped a stock photo from the internet for Tali's face.

 

Who knows, we might still see one of the unmasked quarian concepts being realized in ME:A.

Depends on the type of nudity, I mean there just some kinds of aliens we all know would just not look good in the nude.

The Quarians were described as looking like humans ever since before Mass Effect 2 in one of the books.

Their faces were not described as being human-like, but rather their general body anatomy was described as being humanlike.

I distinctly remember this, because the description of their faces were deliberately ignored and left vague, leaving it up to the readers imagination and - by extension - Bioware's.

This is an easy solvable issue., if only EA/Bio permitted Modding!

 

Then, those inclined could go to Nexusmods.com and download their nude mods. One additional benefit is that the modders would make the game even better.

 

The PJ issue for the Quizzie in DAI is a perfect example of a poorly architectual design. One that permitted no dynamic "re-sleeving of the wire frame character" with a custom armour. Thus the Quizzie animations was fixed with whatever PJ type outfit Mike Laidlaw approved (he is the Creative Director after all).

 

What I expect with ME:A is the same thing. There will be pre-rendered animations that will show a different weapon/armour than what you are actually carrying/wearing. In replaying ME1, 2 and 3, I noticed that immediately.

 

ME:A is an opportunity for Bio to show their support for the modding community and would put this issue to rest for both camps.

Until changes are made to the Frost Bite engine, I don't see any support for the modding community.

Beyond which, that doesn't help anyone who plays on consoles. Even if they eventually support a feature like the one Bethesda's experimenting with with Fallout 4 which will import mods to consoles, nude mods wouldn't be included in that, if for no other reason than Bioware and EA would be on the hook for whatever content was in the mods that they facilitated the import for. 

 

Besides, nude mods tend to operate on the extreme end of the spectrum where the characters are running around naked all the time. I don't believe anyone is seriously asking for that feature.

As long as it's tasteful.  Nudity can be an art, if done correctly.  We don't need to have our love interest, spread eagle during a romance cutscene.

GTA 4 and GTA 5 had male penis shown as well.

I mean, if adults cant handle seeing a glimpse of an adult body part then thats their fault. It is a M rated game, not E for Everyone.

 

It's all about the angle of the dangle... go too high and you get an AO rating slapped on which instantly means the game cannot be distributed over either the SEN or XBL.

I don't really give a slightly bit of damn about partial nudity or bare-naked. They could put naked pixies in the game, only if we get to slay them.

But I do care about the amount of gore in my gameplay, ME:A could use more blood and mutilation.

I liked DAI Style , but......I wish they change the recipee . Of having to play a WHOLE Game to get there . And once it happen..Thats it ! Its over ! no more..... Is this a romance or a one time fling ?

Goes to show how stats are skewed. Here is an example:

 

Many of us use the CC to create a character then start a game, only to abandon it because the face just wasn't what you hoped for. So, you start over and over until you are satisfied.

 

Now, Bio says their stats show many start a female char but don't finish the game.... what's wrong here or their interpretation?
