The bed of spikes does seem appropriate for that.
I'm shocked to hear this from a Vorcha, considering you guys take fashion tips from Borat.
Wroooong. Its Zardoz they get it from.
Agreed.
Now, I don't want the scene to devolve into porn territory, because I have porn for that.
But our characters are adults, in adult relationships. Either have them have sex in a tastefully nude scene, or don't have them take off their clothes at all, because the underwear scenes are just... they cheapen the whole experience.
If they do underwear sex again, I will break my TV.

After Inquisition, I don't see much reason to expect this.

Yeah, I would like to think that underwear sex/showers are a thing of the past now that they've introduced actual nudity to a game and it was (fairly) well-received. And, to be honest, I'm fully in favor of it.
I don't think nudity is necessary for this game. I feel it's more distracting than anything. I believe the writers for this game to be really good writers, and the artists and developers are top notch....why not just blow us away with the story, the new lore, the action, the drama, etc as opposed to getting excited over some nudity in the game. I know this is a mature game but I liked that the previous games only hinted at nudity here and there very lightly.
If full nudity was added well...I think of this scenario...I'm married and I could imagine me playing ME one day...working all of the romances in Andromeda and my wife passes by just as a "love" scene comes up and its full blown nudity softcore porn gameplay going on... we're adults and all so its no biggie but I personally want others who know that I love the ME franchise not to think of it in regards to...oh yeah, that game that has that full on nude soft core porn scene....but more of that....yeah that awesome game that has amazing story, drama, action, decisions, that just blew me away.
If I want nudity, I know where to get it. For ME: Andromeda I want a book I need to re-read over and over...stories that change dramatically....and yeah you can argue that you can have both...but...why?

Fist off no one is talking about soft core porn of full blown nudity. It would be just like MA1 or DAI. Both done tastefully and without any simulated sex.
Secondly would it really be that big of a deal if your wife found out there was nudity in a game you were playing? Dose she let you watch movies? Are we really talking about your mom?

Do you feel the same way about movies? Video games are just another entertainment medium and, in adult oriented games, nudity and violence are fully within the scope of things that one might see/read in any entertainment medium (television, movies, games, books, etc.).
Nudity can be part of the story. Tasteful nudity is not the same as soft-core porn. Of course it's not necessary, but I don't see how it takes away from any aspect of the experience if it's there.

I don't have a good reference point for those games as I have not played them. So I'll take your word for it that it was done tastefully or whatever that means. When people reference full nudity in game I think of the Witcher 3.
And about the wife joke...cute. Like I wrote before, were adults, no biggie...(maybe you missed that part)...the point was....why? Do you feel you need it? Lacking in something there? Maybe its because I have a wife that I don't feel I need this in a video game.
Everyone has their likes and dislikes. I just feel I don't need it in Mass Effect. I really do love good stories and the need for nudity or even sex in a story was never something that matter to me in regards to heart/depth of story.

No. Please don't think I am hardcore NO nudity and all. I was just making a point of...why? I guess I feel the ME franchise never really needed it as I was always excited to see where the story was going outside of the romances. If my character get's busy with another one...we'll ok...no prob...but that never held my attention. I was always...OK...how can I get this mission going etc etc and how can I beat this level and gee I wonder if I say this...would I have to fight Wrex etc? Just a thought bud. Not trying to put a damper on anyone who does look forward to nudity in games.
Is this **** really that important, lol.
That's pretty hot
*Insert '70s-'80s porno music*
Is this **** really that important, lol.
No, not really.
But I think it sticks with lots of people because the devs draw attention to it with half measures.
Like a sexy shower scene where the characters have underwear. It's jarring to players as they think "why on earth do they have their underwear on in the shower" and it makes it plainly evident that the devs are going to great, suspension-of-disbelief-breaking lengths to avoid showing nudity. Ultimately this draws even further emphasis on that decision.
Ultimately it's a **** or get off the pot scenario. If the devs want to make a shower scene, then they should have the tenacity to show nudity. If they don't feel comfortable doing that, then they should just not include the shower scene. They just need to pick one. One foot in, one foot out half measures just draw attention to the issue.

I'm playing ME1 now. About 1/3rd of the way in... and I checked the settings. There is no Fly Cam...
Suggestion?
Never mind... I got it.... thanks for the tip

May I ask if you have similar thoughts in an action movie that pauses for a romantic scene? No. Please don't think I am hardcore NO nudity and all. I was just making a point of...why? I see romantic scenes in video games as tension breakers, a moment for you and your PC to take a breath. And they add another layer of story, giving the overall story more depth.
I don't disagree with your statement, but if the writers feel a scene is more effective with nudity, then I would hope they wouldn't feel hindered.I don't disagree with that sentiment.
I do, however, feel that relationship-building and romantic scenes can be beautifully composed in ways that don't require going to that ewww... uncanny valley place that is videogame nudity.

Albator (Capitain Harlock) 3D movie, shower's scene was just exquisite. It was breath taken when Nausica shut down the gravity to dry herself and get out of the shower.
Nudity is not a big deal until we made it. All depends on how it is shown.
Yet i still can't understand why people are so offended about nudity and less about murders, violences...

^^^ This.
I also keep seeing references to movies if I feel the same way. To an extent, yes. I don't go to the movies to see a movie for a sex scene or nudity. I go, again..for the story, drama, action, or whatever I'm into. I don't know...it's just my opinion guys. I personally feel that nudity or the sex scenes in gaming don't really add much.
Here's an example..not a great one but, just an example..this is a funny skit by Conan and yeah its supposed to be funny and he's doing his thing but notice how the moment Conan realizes that there are naked females in the game....the rest of the entire review becomes about getting "laid". Don't get me wrong, this review was hilarious...but....I personally don't know anything about the story really of the game or care much since that wasn't really the focus. This happens a lot in gaming. I think the Mass Effect franchise is great in story telling (yeah with some hiccups) and I personally wouldn't care if there was a shower scene or a sex scene or nudity.
If its there...fine, would I rather not have it? Surprisingly yes, I just want to delve into the story without the distraction. As I am typing this I realize maybe I'm being snobbish. I guess I just don't want Mass Effect to be cheapened by nudity, not that it would be but then again....MEAndromeda comes out....and we hand it over to Conan for review...I have a feeling that, yes, that will be its focus for some to unlock that scene as opposed to seeing the Mass Effect Franchise as having the most amazing stories in gaming ever.
