I've only had one playthrough of KotoR, with a male character. I'll have to check out a FemRevan Let's Play.

Bioware also has a penchant for creating virginal female LIs, that I'd rather they'd drop. Aerie, Liara, Tali, ect. Adult female characters should have lived adult lives prior to meeting the protagonist, just like their male counterparts.

I'd rather there be both male and female LIs that are virgins, rather then none.

Liara could have worked better if she weren't written just for the sake of blue alien sex thing... I wouldn't mind romancing her in ME1 if she's the person in ME3.

I liked her better in ME1 than in ME2 or ME3. Just another example of Bioware following the "dark/edgy/morally ambiguous is cool" mindset.

In a single game?

Why not? If there are say six romances, that still leaves 67% of the LIs experienced like you want.

It only works if Ryder breaks into a cloister...

Come on, you know what I mean, Iakus.

No one wants to see Mario naked.

There are people who don't want to see anyone naked.

No not even Liara.

Those people don't need help, because there is nothing wrong with that perspective.

DAO was quite imbarrassing in that specific area.

Where did Morrigan get that Bra from, I wonder?...

She stole from Leliana.

I´m not arguing this.

What I mean is that you cannot please everybody. It is impossible.

Nudity isn´t what makes a game mature, but surely it is no surprise if you find it in a mature game.

She stole from Leliana.

Actually, it was passed on down through the years by Flemeth. It originated sometime in the Ancient Age.

Made by the dwarves, I believe.

I think that would be a bit odd in that if you assemble a room full of adults, it's unlikely you'll even have one virgin among them, let alone several. Obviously by either choice or circumstance some people do remain virgins well into adulthood, but they're very much a small minority. I think having more that one virginal LI in a single game would be a bit of a stretch.

That's also assuming that Bioware could even write it in a way that doesn't fetishize the female characters' virginity or use at as an ego-stroke for a self-insert player character, which after their last attempts...I have zero confidence in. The only virgin character Bioware ever handled well was Alistair. They are 1 for 4, by my count, and 0 for 3 with female LIs. I'm all for applying baseball rules here. Bioware has struck out.  B)

There's a difference between "virgin" and "viginal".  It's possible to create one without the other.

Uh **** THAT. They are a whole lot of male gamers greatly disagree on not seeing Liara naked, we would go crazy if they finally did. You get Captain Kirks up this ****** to see some blue ******, and I'm one of them.

Sorry for misunderstanding what you meant.

It is, actually. The majority of M-rated games I play don't have it.

It's also unlikely you'll have the proportions of the various sexual orientations we do in the games as well, yet it happens. But fine, they can do something like have one identified as such and another who never brings past relationships up so is ambiguous.

Josephine is. What was fetishized about it with her?

It was never stated in the game that Josephine was a virgin, or that she had never dated anyone before.

Yes it was. Leliana says she is "an innocent" when it comes to that. In medieval times, calling someone an innocent was synonymous with calling them a virgin. We even have it today with phrases like "losing their innocence" when referring to someone's first time. And the people who made her confirmed that it meant she is a virgin by that time.

Saying someone is innocent doesn't necessarily mean they have no experience of being involved romantically with other people, or that they're virgins. It could just indicate some degree of being socially awkward or naive, which isn't necessarily a result of having not having been involved in romantic or sexual relationships. Plenty of people who have been sexually active could be described as somewhat innocent or naive when it comes to romantic relationships. Leliana's dialogue was somewhat ambiguous in that regard, like much of Josephine's romance arc.

Of course if a writer confirmed outside the game that Josephine was a virgin, than that's canon. It wouldn't change however that the in game dialogue was rather ambiguous.

Well, as I recall DA:I was the first game of BioWare (haven't played games before origins/ME 1 except Kotor) with actual nudity in it. Do you think it was a good move of BioWare as it of course i an adult franchise and do you think they should put it also in the new Mass Effect?

Yes, I think it was well handled. And, provided they handle it as well in ME:A, of course it should be there when applicable.

As I added to my post above, in medieval times that is exactly what it meant. Innocence and virginity were used as synonyms, and still are by some to this day.

Fair enough. My point was that they can handle it well with female characters as well as male characters.

I, too, had the pleasure of Leliana´s lecture and to me it seemed that she warned me not to fake interest if nothing is meant by it.

That struck me rather odd. Surely Josephine is no stranger to The Game, considering her past.

But it was, like Han said, ambiguous.

Her writer Sylvia said that during Josephine's brief time as a bard, the methods she used was dancing, playing an instrument, and conversation. I believe they wanted to show how the bards operated in different, more broad ways rather then them all being like Leliana and Marjolaine whom used seduction, sabotage, and murder.

One of Cole's lines even references it: "She spins, plucking strings, matching wits and words, an admiral who will never send ships of her own."

Blimey, so now we need a load of virgins too?
This is getting a tad weird (If it wasn't enough already).

Me and my gf had sex on our second date, and that was 7 years ago.
If we had followed what some of you seem to be prescribing, we might be holding hands by now (if we are lucky and only with a chaperone).
Oh and we wouldn't have a baby daughter.

I wonder if some of you actually live in the real world and have actual relationships with (alive and real) human beings.

Oddly, I always saw those lines as a methaphor for a very gifted politician. I did not think "she spins, plucking strings" could be meant literally.

It's not like it is a new development. Bioware has had at least one virgin LI in each game for at least the past decade.

That's rude. People are allowed to have different lifestyles than you.

It's hard to tell with Cole sometimes. Sometimes he is very metaphorical, and other times very literal. That's why we asked Sylvia about it and she said what I told above.
