There is romance in KoToR?
They're one of the better romance story arcs that BioWare has done, despite the fact that they don't have a sex scene.

Was watching the KOTOR trailer the other day.. I was like oh yeah... that thing was crazy, so much crazy stuff happening, so intense and dramatic at times.
KOTOR is probably literally like 5 bucks right now or something I'll bet also.

I've never done these arcs. Might be a perspective thing with the main character. I don't even remember the name.
As long as the nudity and sex is there for a reason I don't mind.
Let's be honest: Dr. Manhattan stands around ruminating and philosophizing whilst his junk hangs out. I don't judge him for that, but he has more in common with The Dude than he does with a superhero.
I would play that scene repeatedly. For... science and testing.
^The Pulp Fiction scenario from the language filter thread again crops up.
For my own record, I have little to no interest in nudity from Bioware games (I think they should cut out romances altogether). But the "nothing would have been lost" argument also tends to be misapplied quite a bit.
As per the language filter thread, insisting that foul language adds nothing to the experience is not likely to convince a foul language proponent. And vice versa.
JOE (pointing to Mr. Orange) This man set us up. CAMERA does a 360 around the men. EDDIE Daddy, I'm sorry, I don't know what's happening. JOE That's okay, Eddie, I do. MR. WHITE (to Joe) What the dang are you talking about? JOE (pointing to Mr. Orange) That piece of rubbish. Workin with the cops. MR. WHITE MR. PINK EDDIE What? JOE I said this lump of dangleberrys is workin with the LAPD. MR. ORANGE'S POV Looking up from the floor at everybody. Joe looks down at Mr. Orange. JOE Aren't you? MR. ORANGE (OS) I don't have the slightest dang-dong-diddly idea what you're talkin about. MR. WHITE (very calmly to Joe) Joe, I don't know what you think you know, but you're wrong. JOE Like larksadaisy I am. MR. WHITE (very calmly) Joe, trust me on this, you've made a mistake. He's a good kid. I understand you're hot, you're rootin-tootingly angry. We're all real emotional. But you're barking up the wrong tree. I know this man, and he wouldn't do that. JOE You don't know jack fiddlesticks. I do. This rotten naughty boy tipped off the cops and got Mr. Brown and Mr. Blue killed. MR. PINK Mr. Blue's dead? JOE Dead as Dillinger. EDDIE The cheesemonger killed Vic. MR. WHITE How do you know all this? JOE He was the only one I wasn't a hundred percent on. I should have my diddly head examined for goin forward when I wasn't a hundred percent. But he seemed like a good kid, and I was impatient and greedy and all the things that mess you up. MR. WHITE (screaming) That's your proof? JOE You don't need proof when you got instinct. I ignored it before, but not no more. He WHIPS out a revolver and aims it at Mr. Orange. Mr. White brings his .45 up at Joe. Eddie and Mr. Pink are shook awake by the flash of firearms. Eddie raises his gun, pointing it at Mr. White. EDDIE Have you lost your cowbell mind? Put your gun down! Mr. Pink fades into the B.G., wanting no part of this. MR. WHITE Joe, you're making a terrible mistake I can't let you make. EDDIE Stop pointing your rather nice gun at daddy!
The Minutemen/Crimebusters were NOT superheroes, but a dark parody of them.
I would say that it was satire, not parody. The characters were intended to be interpreted as superheroes.
I also sometimes stand around ruminating and philosophizing, it is what we wise, conflicted men do.
It's interesting that you see Watchmen as a parody, yet took my comment seriously instead of as a joke.
Well, as I recall DA:I was the first game of BioWare (haven't played games before origins/ME 1 except Kotor) with actual nudity in it. Do you think it was a good move of BioWare as it of course i an adult franchise and do you think they should put it also in the new Mass Effect?
I think it was a good move.. It is done in a classy way and it didn't feel trashy or in your face. I know there are some that do not want the nudity or sex scenes, but honestly, I would like to see scenes like in Witcher 3 for ME:A.. The Witcher 3 scenes are again done in a classy way in my opinion. For those that do not approve of romance scenes, just skip them or do not engage in a LI, please don't make us mushy folk that enjoy the love story aspect of the games suffer lol

No, it was both of these things.

The key word is in your opinion. In my opinion TW3's scenes were laughably bad and unclassy.

Except in DAI there were romances where you couldn't skip the scenes because dialogue was involved.
And how is "Then you get nobody" a good solution? Why do you deserve what you want and those who don't want what you want deserve nothing?

And again that is your opinion and I have given mine.. Obviously the M rating and the notation of Nudity in the ERSB rating disclosure would be your first clue, if you're against nudity.. then you probably A: shouldn't buy the game or B: shouldn't partake in the love story aspect... If something as simple as a nipple, boob or the human nature of the act of sex offend you then you should probably stick with E rated games.. just saying ![]()

And again I ask you what makes you so much more important that you get romances with content you want where others don't get romances with content they want?
For my own record, I have little to no interest in nudity from Bioware games (I think they should cut out romances altogether). But the "nothing would have been lost" argument also tends to be misapplied quite a bit.
I am speaking strictly of the Cassandra romance in this case. Seeing her rack while she's talking did absolutely nothing for the scene.
And again I ask you what makes you so much more important that you get romances with content you want where others don't get romances with content they want?
There's always Solas the Prude for those that are easily offended... otherwise due to the rating nature of the game you should expect nudity as it warns you of this before you purchase the game... so if it offends you, then don't do it... it has nothing to do with one person being "better" than someone else, it's just common sense, the game says Nudity, then you should expect nudity in romance scenes...
*chugs*
Not sure of the meaning on this one.. if you agree or disagree, but regardless *chugs* calls for my response of *cheers* lol
I understand your point, Iakus, I really do...but it honestly surprises me that you still (apparently) pursues romances at all, I mean - you get to see Ashley's bare butt if you romance her back in ME1, "partial" sex always was the cherry pie in ME games, the last major content in romances, you couldn't just skip them by taking some other route.
If you're really uncomfortable with nudity, then I guess you shouldn't play Andromeda, or maybe do some research before getting into romances, because nudity is something people were asking for ages now, instead of DAO, DA2, and ME3's laziness.
DAI embraced it appropriately, and Andromeda sure will, hopefully.
But yeah, I get what you're saying, each to their own.
Why shouldn't I pursue romance storylines? I happen to like love stories. But you know what? Love=/=sex. And it's kinda distressing that more and more people seem to think of them as one and the same. A love story, even a "mature" one, doesn't require a money shot
I liked romancing Ashley in ME1. But you know what? SHe and Shepard don't have to sleep together. Shepard could always turn her down and the romance would still complete. Or I could have them sleep together, but I could hit a button and not see anything if I didn't want to. Or I could let the scene play out and see it all. Options for everyone! Can't have that now, can we?
Believe me, I intend to put MEA under a microscope, and at this point anm inclined not to buy it, but not for nudity or lack of it.
Oh, and I resent that you think lack of nudity is equated with "laziness"

Romance =/= Sex. There are millions of people in romantic relationships right now that aren't having sex with their romantic partner. Even romances made by Bioware have had some without nudity or even sex, so why should it be expected? And why should Bioware not make romances like that? It is only common sense to appeal to as many customers as possible.
By the way, calling anyone who doesn't like it a prude or a child is acting like you are better since you're demeaning those who have a different viewpoint. It's also against the Site Rules that you agreed to in order to post here.

It's a drinking game. Every time a tired old chestnut of how people who don't like nudity are prudes, immature, overly religious, or Western gets used, do a shot!

Can I use soda instead of alcohol for this game?
In ME1, 2 and 3, all paths culminated to a sex scene, you couldn't skip them. Iakus' point is that Dorian's romance didn't need a sex scene to be "locked".
Not in ME1. Shepard can turn down Kaidan, Ash, and Liara on the way to Ilos, and the romance still locks in.
Can I use soda instead of alcohol for this game?
Of course! It's probably safer that way, given how often they get used!

Yay! Here, let me catch up:

First off I called Solas a Prude lol (Solas and I don't see eye to eye lol and he annoys me with his Fade babble) not you or anyone else and I never said anything about anyone acting like a child and no I do not see myself as better than anyone else.. I am saying the nudity should be expected because you are warned that there will be nudity via the ESRB and obviously romance cut scenes is most likely were the content will be presented unless you created a character that can somehow run through the world naked fighting demons.. I am not demeaning you because you have a different opinion, I am debating with you..

Interesting.. Although in that context drinking to my post doesn't make sense as I did not call anyone a Prude, immature or overly religious or a cowboy lol besides Solas lol I am simply debating our differences and explaining my opinion
