Amusingly, there was an article done by a Kevin McCullough, I believe, that featured even more outrageous accusations such as: "Mass Effect can be customized to sodomise whatever, whomever, however, the game player wishes".

This fared about as well with the gaming community from what I can understand and Jack Thompson apparently even said this about the controversy: "The guy who shot his mouth off about it had no idea what the Hell he was talking about. This contrieved controversy is absolutely ridiculous"

McCullough issued an apology to the gaming community but maintained that the content in Mass Effect was still offensive.

I think the words "...allows the player to (something something) every position possible and act out every sexual act imaginable..." were used at some point as well.

She is actually not bad compared to others in the Chantry in her views of mages, Viviene is certainly worse.

(it's always like that with those that feel apologetic about what they are...)

 

And just stop with trying to equate Mages to whoever minority group you have in mind, this comparison is just wrong.

I will support Mages to the end, but there are objective differences and dangers with mages that are just non-existent with the general population.

 

When it comes to group A hating group B in RL, it's more about prejudice, grudges, and religious fanaticism, not objective technical differences.

Yeah I completely agree, but then said "proper mother" gets looked down upon for breast feeding and then if said "proper mother" decides to conform to society, but can't afford formula feeding and has to receive some sort of government assistance, she is then viewed as a "freeloader" lmao there is just no winning for "proper mothers". The original zinger was good, but then to follow it with such a huge portion of crazy sauce is just irresponsible. 

 

I romanced Cass with a mage, and he wasn't even the first mage she fell in love with. The first time she met him she mourned the loss of their one chance to make peace between the mages and templars, and then the first real conversation they had she mourned that the mages who helped her save the former divine didn't get as much credit as they deserved. She was on good terms with the fracking hedge mage in the party, for maker's sake.

Trouble is, you can't replace a different minority group with mage, as nothing in real life is truly analogous to them. In any case, the fact that she doesn't want to actually lynch mages makes the comparison grossly off-base. A proper example of anti-mage sentiment that goes into Nazi territory is Ser Alrik, who wants to tranquilize them all, which is about the same as eliminating them. If anything, Cassandra has a stronger case for her distrust of mages than Ashley does for her distrust of Shepard's alien allies.
