How do you know that isn't what we have?
For all we know, Salarians could be speaking to us using their genitals!

Of course, that is a costlier option than the reskin toggle. It requires more dialogue for both the PC (all VAs) and the NPC. And you guys then end up missing the content in the scene you're skipping, but since you guys are paying that cost, it's not my problem. And I am in favor of allowing characters to turn down sex in the romances via dialogue without breaking the romance (as ME1 allowed) or skipping a sex scene if the player prefers that (as, again ME1 allowed) alongside nude scenes themselves. As far as I'm concerned, everyone wins.
I'm on record as saying a language toggle is unfeasible. And I am in favor of a "gore toggle" at least.

Given that we all have different thresholds when it comes to the kind of content we do and don't find 'tricky', that doesn't work at all.
Where's the evidence? Heck where's the argument? It's little more than name-calling.
Whether you consider it an argument or name-calling is irrelevant. I'd consider it an indirect argument.
You just picked up an M rated game. The ESRB sticker informed you about "Intense Violence", "Nudity", and even "Sexual Content". If you can't handle either of those, please put the game down. Coming to this board and complaining about experiencing those themes after picking up a game that informed you it had those themes is pure hypocrisy.
I'd also consider it strange that a twenty-five year old human being needs a nudity filter. I could see the reasoning behind a gore filter, but a nudity and profanity filter really beats around the bush.
Here is the ESRB rating by the way: http://i.ebayimg.com...BiW/s-l1600.jpg

Unless you're asking for alternate versions of, for instance, Cassandra's scene? That's even costlier.
Edit: Oh, wait... didn't you say upthread that you wished Cassandra's scene hadn't had dialogue? I suppose there's no dev time cost if we take a quality hit instead and go back to doing things DA:O style.
I don't know what the cost is, but Bioware has been willing to pay it in the past: ME1 (all romances) DAO (Allistair and Leliana) and DAI (Dorian and Blackwall,
To be specific, I wish the nude scene had been skippable, and the conversation took place later, when they were dressed. Bioware used to do more "love talks" in romances

An argument is typically backed with facts, or at least data. Not ad hominems.

Umm, you do realize that MEA isn't out yet, and there is no ERSB rating for it, yes? We're talking about what we would (or would not) like to see in the game. It's called "feedback"

I demand frontal male nudity in MEA.
All the willies are getting tired of being couped up and under cover all the time.

I am perfectly aware that there is no ERSB rating yet, yes. I was making a point based on the examples made from Dragon Age: Inquisition. I highly doubt that considering an ESRB rating of "M" is false at this point. Most of the previous Bioware games had an ESRB M rating. I see no reason for them to suddenly lower the bar and make it lower.
To be specific, I wish the nude scene had been skippable, and the conversation took place later, when they were dressed.
And I will ask this again: Why? Seeing that your profile states you played DA:I with this account, you should be an adult above the age of 18. Why does it matter whether the characters are dressed during pillow-talk or not? Are you so insecure that you can't ignore the nudity for the duration of the conversation? I agree that it could be skippable (if it wouldn't take too long to develop), but is it so hard to simply ignore the nudity for thirty seconds? At least considering you are a reasonably aged and mentally fully capable adult?
An argument is typically backed with facts, or at least data. Not ad hominems.
And I am still waiting for the factual argument behind "no nudity". Art may contain nudity. I'm still waiting for the reason why Bioware has to invest precious time and money into developing a way to jump around nudity in a game that will (most likely) be ERSB 17+?

The examples from DAI are to illustrate points. Because it had romances which had nudity, those which did not, and those which it was optional.

It matters because of personal preference. It's not a deal-breaker for me, but I find nude scenes to be rather voyeuristic. Others are even more uncomfortable with it than I, and I sympathize with them.

Again, in my case it is personal preference. Yes, art can contain nudity. Art can also contain bowls of fruit, wounded soldiers, sunsets, or dogs playing poker.
You want a reason? How about broader appeal? Some people like nudity. Some people don't care. And some people dislike it.

I still fail to see how "illustrate points" is a counter-argument to countering those points? Some people in the past were obsessing about the nudity in Inquisition. I simply asked why they would pick an ESRB M+ and then obsess because of the nudity.
If there is a character which is asexual by definition, or actually implies that he does not want to have sex, having no nudity is not a serious issue. I'd even go as far as to say that I would expect nothing to happen when entering a relationship. But to code multiple different approaches for all the nudity scenes and apply a language filter would simply swallow development time.

And I will say this again: The argument about people being uncomfortable with thirty seconds of nude skin might hold broad appeal when discussing teen games, but it doesn't hold much appeal in an M+ rated game.

And if you like nudity or don't care, feel free to buy an M+ rated game. If you dislike it, don't buy an M+ rated game. The idea that every game has to have specific toogles for every possible group of people to feel comfortable at all times is baffling. The only reason you seem to be able to point out to invest precious development time and money into two optional features which a fraction of the community might use at all is: "Because some people might feel uncomfortable with nudity."
It's always baffling that people pick up M+ rated games, but in hindsight feel slightly bad for nudity.

Nothing is being asked for the Bioware has not already done in multiple titles in the past.

I just went to the ersb cite, looked up M rated games, and excluded the "nudity" content descriptor, and went flipping through the titles.
Stopped when I hit 500 and hadn't reached the end of the list yet.

Way to personally attack people who have a different view than you. ![]()
I still don't get why nudity is such an issue but using extreme violence isn't.
WHo says it isn't? At least for me.
I'd love to have more non-violent approaches to problem solving. And I find the overuse of Ludicrous Gibs to be extremely tiresome.
But that's not what this thread is for. Make one about blood, gore, and violence and I'll happily post there too,
So I'm curious on what qualifies as too much or actual nudity to some people on here. Would the wicked grace scene with Cullen running off count as too much nudity since he is clearly naked you just don't see any genitals. Would the Qunari statutes from the Spoils of the Qunari DLC (sorry if I got the name of that wrong) fall under that as well? I'm not trying to be snide or anything I am genuinely curious about this.
they are not arguments, though. They are assertions. With zero supporting evidence.
How does one counter
Where's the evidence? Heck where's the argument? It's little more than name-calling.
Hey I'm not name calling no one or to discriminate people who doesn't like sex, I'm just putting reasons why that people are disgusted with sexuality. There is historical evidence of Puritans doesn't like sex and issues with nudity that spread generations to this day, and I have a lot of to learn about sexuality and all but where I'm from people are insecure about sexuality because of their personal issues of sex, religion, etc.Where's the evidence? Heck where's the argument? It's little more than name-calling.

I like both in my games, preferably at the same time.

Cullen was not even partial nudity, in my opinion. You don't really see anything from what I can recall. That said I'm sure some will disagree. I don't consider portrayals of statues and the like nudity either. The real world statues they are based on, like Michelangelo's David or the Venus Callipyge would never be labelled pornographic by any sane person.
Wrong topic! Sigh, sorry for the miss.

Considering the topic I wonder if you accidentally walked into an already occupied dressing room. ![]()

That's not entirely true. Quite a few nude statues during the same time period as Michelangelo's David were...ahem, "operated" on and had private parts replaced or covered with plaster fig leaves by the then-current Pope and his successor. When a plaster cast replica of David was made and presented to Queen Victoria in the 1800s and then placed in a museum, they had a plaster fig leaf created that could be placed over the genitals when dignitaries visited. And the museum received a letter of complaint from an individual claiming the statue shouldn't be considered art and if it is, it's very objectionable art. So, yeah even Michelangelo's David was considered pornographic or, minimally, inappropriate by quite a few people through the centuries. My art teacher said it used to make her giggle thinking about the Pope having a desk drawer full of stone penises in his office.
I should note that I'm in no way making any comments on the sanity of the aforementioned individuals.

only seen one game do that before, and it was for laughs in a GTA DLC.
I am not against the idea but I think it would be safer to show ass over genitals every time. Besides, I am an ass man at heart in the end.

lol, I find its funny in ME1, FemShep was actually staring at Kaidan's naked ass while he was sleeping. Adored her the moment she got caught looking.
