Seeing as pigs and horses are two completely different species I fail to see the comparison...

I meant that GTA (the pig) is in the genre of extreme-violence and hardcore behavior, whereas ME (the thoroughbred) is in the heroic sci-fi genre in a traditional moral context; two completely different species. I wrote too quickly and did not mean to criticize MJ; he was only making an observation about GTA and I wasn't thinking clearly. I have apologized to MJ. Perhaps my take on GTA's morality theme is wrong, but it is far more violent and gory than anything in ME. Genital exposure is appropriate for GTA and its ilk because it is a hardcore 'on-the-street' setting, but I'm not here to argue about GTA. In a game with death and blood occuring in ME, I side with the honorable hero premise in the fashions of John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, so call me old-fashioned and a prude. I'm a romantic and this is my point of view. I'm  saying that it would serve no legitimate purpose in heroic Sci-fi, which is the basis of ME from the beginning. ME doesn't have to devolve as other games have into raunch, and I won't pay the admission price for that. Hardcore raunch has its place elsewhere. Showing the intertwined couple with nuanced shade effects and discrete camera angles (more a more '3D atmosphere', lets the imagination work; graphic porn robs the imagination of enjoying intimatacy at the higher plane of having some privacy. Imagery is heightened when something is left to your imagination. I would have preferred that FemShep/Traynor in the shower/jacuzzi were bra-less, and MaleShep's Ashley in bed had her rig removed. I have pleasure in minor voyeurism. ME does better as a story and franchise without the explicitness that some on this topic are advocating. I don't want to see areolas; just the beautiful curves of a sexy woman shown in a tasteful fashion. Just offering an opinion; nothing to get in a twist over. The rest of my comments on nudity in ME are expressed in my earlier post on pg. 5.

Am I the only one who thought Traynor showering in her bathingsuit made perfect sense? I didn't think it was strange until I saw all the hate this scene was getting.
 
 
She was using her boss's unlockable open shower. I sure as hell wouldn't shower naked where my boss could possibly see me.
 
Also I think it suited her personality: she was obsessed with her toothbrush and showered in a bathingsuit in communal showers 

It seemed like she was shooting for seduction with the shower thing, so nudity would make sense in that situation. The shower scene never takes place if you're a male Shepard, after all.

It never seemed that way to me. It didn't seem unusual that she would hate the public showers and femshep would offer that she could use hers. Also to me it seemed that her shower flirt was very unsure of femshep reception so if she was rejected while naked it would be very embarassing and this was another reason for her to shower clothed.

 

Obviously, if they could pull off that she would be covered by steam like they planned, the scene would also be fine, but under the circumstances and with Traynor's personality I never thought it THAT odd for her to have another personal hygiene quirk and prefering to shower in a bathingsuit in front of other people.

ME3 couldn't have nude romance scenes because they were saving their "nudity budget" for the all those Banshees.

DAI was good, but... showing some nipples didn't elevated it to mature, at least not for me. Quizzy made out with Cassandra and the scene fades away, then they're already lying on the ground, that was a little disappointing. I don't want full 'getting on' mode, actually, ME1 did quite good, with appropriate angles and the feeling that they're really naked, which they kinda were.

Mix ME1 and TW3's style and I would be very satisfied, as a male, seeing Geralt fully naked, unlike any of the Mass Effect games or Dragon Age ones, was really cool, it made the whole moment believable, the same could be said about Yennefer. That's what I want in ME, nudity and ME1's approach. Nothing explicit.

Nudity lol? According to the other thread you can't even have women with hourglass figures. If that's too sexualised, then nudity is a massive no-no.

But seriously, I'm not that bothered, don't mind seeing some boob here and there, just don't wanna see my character's schlong, would be a bit awkward if someone walked in on me watching my guy boning an alien. Nothing wrong with a classily shot sequence before it fades to black. As long as there's not some weird fully clothed spooning as there was with Tali. (Although it's understandable why she was fully clothed, but Shepard?)

The weird is they could have still had a shower scene implying nudity without actually showing it. It would have just required clever use camera angles or lighting to obscure any of the R-rated bits, or positioning the characters in such a way that their partner is covering their breasts or what have you from the camera. Basically, they just had to go the route that many films go.

I don't mind seeing a hairy ass.  In fact, I'd be disappointed if they showed boobs and no man ass. 

 

I'm fine with them sticking to the DA: I approach.  Tasteful nudity in some of the romances.  Some romances included no nudity (or only implied nudity).  Boobs and ass included (no frontal nudity for either gender).

I agree!  BioWare games have always been about the story.  It feels as of late that too much focus has been placed on sex instead of the fine plot details.  Classy and clean would be nice to see.

Honestly... the romance arcs only take up a fraction of the games, the actual 'sex scenes' a fraction of that fraction.

It's not "all about sex."  I just think the games were better when it was more tasteful and didn't have nudity in them.  I would prefer a more emotionally powerful "romance scene" instead of something that resembles a one-night stand.
