I never said TW3 was perfect. In fact, I stated earlier that Geralt still suffers from "pants disease." I believe everybody should be naked. My point was less the actual nudity and more how it's presented in terms of camera angles is tasteful and not entirely gratuitous.

However, nudity and romance scenes can be used in a narrative sense where it actually drives the plot forward and isn't purely fan service. It all depends on how it is presented and what the scene is trying to accomplish.

First, nude is simply what we are. Cloths can be eye candy.
Secondly, we all feel attracted to certain bodily features. Nudity certainly is more attractive than a set of tightie whities and it's kind of a necessity for certain actions in life.

Another example is naturism. People enjoy being one with the nature and don't think of each other as sex objects. So no, nudity is only titillating if it's a rarity. A taboo. "You're not supposed to see other people naked unless you're dating them" kinda bs. So it's stuck to our heads as the universal truth when in reality it's not. We need to change our way of thinking.

I'll help you out a bit, buddy, as I assume you aren't one of these "tribes that live on islands." Yes, culture can lead to some contrasts in human behavior. However, survival of the fittest, reproduction, these are all inherently genetic traits in humans in order to survive. No matter what background or society you come from, you will become aroused by the sight of someone you find attractive. As far as being naked all the time, yeah if you see someone nude 24/7 it's not going to be very special because you are used to it. That doesn't mean you still can't find someone sexually arousing.

I certainly am not claiming communist East Germany by far was the "golden standard" for civilization. I'm just pointing out the differences of the two societies which used to be one. Certainly, I'm aware that the GDR's "experiment" was largely a farce and that their own leaders were hypocrites. However, it would do East Germany a disservice to not recognize the cultural achievements and differences they did make and aspects of their society which arguably could be considered "better" than their western counterparts.
Again, there is a difference between commercialized nudity and natural nudity. Unlike the west, East Germany did not idealize the nude form, particularly the female body, into the traditional hourglass shape with large breasts and a large butt that had become common place in western culture. Going back to the pornography point, East Germans actually found western pornography to be ridiculous and not sexually arousing at all. There is also plenty of empirical evidence that East Germans did genuinely believe that their sex lives were superior compared to the west because of how western culture idealized nudity and sexuality into something that wasn't real.

I'm not surprised at all. That was a turbulent time for the world, especially Eastern Europe, given the Soviet Union's abrupt and sudden collapse. I've never been to Germany, but I wouldn't mind visiting!
