Yeah, there needs to be more naked women in order to make it equal. We see topless men way more than we see topless women. And we see the occasional penis in videogames but never see a vagina.

Not true. If you look at our media you will see that we oversexualize women's bodies way more than men. That women's boobs, naked asses, and top ****** are shown way more than dudes. I only know of one show that actually showed a flaccid penis. I'm talking about SEXUALIZED. I know that's a big word and all, but it isn't a hard concept. Men's chests aren't sexualized. They do not show their chests for women to ****** too. They show it to show how "strong" they are. When women are shown in this way it is ALWAYS sexualized. It is to appeal to the player as an object of desire. Why you don't see women taking their tops off to cool down while training or working out while men do. God forbid if you show ****** for their intended purpose, feeding babies everyone freaks out.

Give me **** or give me a playable game without a shitty ending. At this point I'm not even too picky either way.

Lets face it nudity in games will only mean boobs, and as a gay man that doesn't appeal to me.  So I'd rather the attention (and budget) be spent on better non-sexual romance things like cuddling-perfecting the kissing animations would be nice.

Not sure what video-games you've played.

Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto V have both shown a penis. Never heard of them?

Who doesn't like boobs? Breastfeeding or not, western culture sexualized the female body long ago. In truth, the female form was sexualized long before that. The reality is the perception of the female form is never going to change. When it comes to gratuity and fan service, it almost always means female breasts. On occasion, there might be a chance of seeing a penis, but almost always it's going to be female breasts. That's just how western society is and video games certainly aren't attempting to change that deeply-rooted tradition.

EA and BioWare's decisions are based on the largest demographic for their games: heterosexual men. As a result, it's a given whenever there is "nudity" it will be female breasts. Why would a corporation looking to make the most profit not attempt to appeal to the largest amount of consumers possible? If EA and BioWare only attempted to appeal to gay men in romances and nudity, they'd see much smaller revenue and perhaps even lose a portion of their fan base. That's just reality.

Many people don't like boobs.

I was being facetious. That being said, I'd assume most heterosexual men, who are the majority of the fan base, like boobs. I certainly can attest to liking boobs, being a heterosexual male myself. I doubt I am alone.

Don't.

Learn to take a joke. :) If DAI is any indication, BioWare will attempt to try and appeal to more than just heterosexual men with MEA. They certainly already have a history and tradition of trying to appeal to a variety of sexual orientations in a tasteful manner.

And the kind of romance I want is currently trying to be argued away by others here.

Going by the types of romance that most people here want, that's probably a good thing.

I'm not arguing against any kind of romance. On the contrary, if BioWare has the resources, I'm more than happy for them to appeal to as many demographics as they can. They are the only developer in the industry who actually tries to appeal to groups outside of heterosexual males, and I respect that a lot. I think more developers should learn from BioWare and follow suit. It leads to a more inclusive game and more folks are happy as a result.

I also have no idea what "kind of romance" you are actually looking for, so kind of hard to argue against it.

Also Dante's Inferno, The Order: 1886, Rust, Manhunt 2 and Outlast: Whistleblower DLC to that list.

Sorry about that. I read some of your earlier posts and you are right aboutt you not being one of the ones arguing against the kind of romance I'm hoping MEA has.

As for what kind, romances that don't involve nudity since they wouldn't involve sex being an integral part of the romance arc. I want to have romances that focus on the interpersonal connection between the two in the romance, rather than sex. For example, Josephine's romance in DAI.

I'm actually in support of your idea. I feel relationships have largely been too superficial in BioWare games for the most part. I like how Josephine was handled in DAI, but she wasn't my type. In general, I just want a lot more dialogue involved and for BioWare to flesh out these characters more. I want to actually care about these characters, and the only way to make that work is to invest time into developing them.

At this point, for all the fuss we've made about it, if there isn't hentai in the next one, I'm going to be disappointed.

The first phrase doesn't necessarily equate the second.

Yeah, when applicable.

I liked how DA:I handled it very much.

Always seemed silly to me that games can revel in gore but nudity is where the line is drawn.

Especially when you can be 17, and go see an R rated movie, and some R rated movies have straight up ******. But no one cares when a movie has that stuff in it. But a video game that shows a little, that's inappropriate.

Just because a person is a grownup doesn't mean that person wants nakedness

Ohhhh I see.. Well I guess I can understand that. Don't think it makes sense to why a grownup would enjoy sex and showering with clothes on... but.. who am I to judge eh? Everyone has their own ways of being xD

Everyone does have their own way.  Which is why providing more options is the best way to go.

In DAI, there were romances which did not have sex or nudity shown on screen.  There were others where sex was optional, but you can still complete the romance without it (the same as the Alistair and Leliana romances in DAO.  You don't have to sleep with them to complete their romances)

And even in the first Mass Effect, you could turn down sex with Ash, Kaidan, or Liara and still complete their romance.  Or you could sleep with them and hit a button to skip past the "money shot"  Or you could catch all the sideboob and butt you want.  Everyone wins  :D

I agree. Options is definitely the best way to go. It's hard to make everyone happy but the sex scenes made in the way you suggested with the skipping, isn't really that big of a change of implementation, so it should be possible for them to make. I don't know if I've used the right words to express myself or not lol. I'm not so good at wording myself always in English :)
