Just because a person is a grownup doesn't mean that person wants nakedness

As a grown-up I have no problem with nudity. What I have problem with is objectification. No more Miranda-like butt shots, no ridiculous catsuits, no low-necked outfits (looking at you, Benezia) just to appeal to horny teenagers. I mean, we play the game that is set in 22nd century when women can be badass soldiers, how come the objectification is still a thing?

Welcome to the world of entertainment where the female body is always objectified. Personally, I could not care less what the actual female characters are wearing (or not). What I care about is the substance of their character and if they are strong-willed, independent women who had their own perspective to the game. People love to hate on The Witcher here, but nobody can argue Triss, Yennefer, and Ciri aren't all strong women characters.

Even if Miranda's outfit was gratuitous, at least her character had substance, unlike ME1 Liara who was a dorky cultural nut who was nothing more than a damsel in distress. There's nothing wrong with being sexy AND powerful. That's what BioWare should focus on doing a better job with, in my opinion.

Yennefer from The Witcher and Miranda from ME was done perfectly imo, both very strong and sexy characters, that's also what I would like to see more of xD

I agree. There's nothing wrong with being powerful and sexy.

What do people want to do? Have all women wear burkas to hide their body? I'm certainly not advocating for chain mail bikinis, but there's nothing wrong with making the attire a woman is wearing sexy.

I agree. I think the butt shots of Miranda were a little too over done lol but otherwise I really love it when a female character can have sexy outfit on, show her femininity. Cause being a soldier doesn't mean you suddenly stop being a woman.

Exactly. People seem to think if we make a woman look more like a man then we can take her seriously. I don't see why women should be ashamed of their bodies. On the contrary, I think they should be proud of what makes them different from men. We should highlight and praise the differences rather than hide them and try to make everybody look the same.

I didn't say anything against them being sexy and attractive. But their clothes should be both practical and comfortable. Outfits that constantly spread your buttocks aren't comfortable and outfits with low cuts that barely hold breasts in place aren't practical. And I won't even talk about the lack of female armor and helmets in ME2. People may not like ME1 as much as its sequels but it handled clothing right. Female soldiers and doctors wore practical uniforms and even consort with acolites had decent dresses that I can believe a respectable woman could wear. There's no need to emphasize female attractiveness more than that.

Why not? Some women use their dress to emphasize their power.

If that's the case I think it needs to be firmly written into their character, and not just an excuse people use for hand-waving.

Maybe it's close minded but I have to seriously question any heterosexual man who has an issue with Miranda's butt shots, Samara's cleave or sexy Asari. TNA is your thing, embrace it and be happy smh.

The problem is that the straight boys get all the sexy stuff and nudity catered toward them, let gay boys and girls in on the fun too with some package, abs, tight butt shots and then everything will be just fine in the world.

Some people like to pretend they're morally superior to others, so they'll actively reject and moan about fan service geared towards them, yet advocate for fan service geared towards others at the same time.

My only problem with those is not that they wear those outfits, but that they clash with the setting, most notably with the absurdity of the gas masks in a vacuum situation. With Samara, showing off her cleavage just seemed really out of character.

As a heterosexual man, I'm a big fan of context. So, when I get that ass shot of Miranda, I'd prefer it if the situation actually suited the imagery presented. Talking about Oriana while I get a kneeling view of Miri's honeycomb-festooned badonk doesn't exactly entice me.

Oh, yeah, I agree. I really wish they would have put more work into characters without a hard suit so they had a "space" Outfit where no skin was showing with a proper helmet, instead of their default clothes with a breather mask which looked weird.

In Samara's case, I imagine her with a VR troopers style helmet and the upper part of her outfit completely enclosed.

It's sad more people don't appreciate outfit variation, maybe we'd get something like that if they did.

LOL, yeah I concede that one was... interesting..

Only a beta would complain about the luxurious body that a female manages to behold before our very lowly manly essence.

And don't forget that "objectification" garbage too.  If I work hard on myself and I want to look good and some woman wants to appreciate that and take it in?  Go ahead girl.  Objectify me all you want.  Thanks for recognizing hard work.

People want women - and men - to wear things that make some degree of sense. I personally don't have an issue with rule of cool, but "sexy" is often stupid looking, or setting inconsistent. Miradan's catsuit doesn't fit with the rest of the ME armour - no one has thin, skintight armour - and doesn't fit the visual imagery.

Exactly. They might as well walk around naked instead of wearing tight outfits.

This.

Lots of exposed skin would be fine if the character never left the Presidium. Even without getting into issues with objectification, it breaks immersion in a Sci Fi game to have characters wearing revealing clothing and heels into a combat zone or the hard vacuum of space.
