I don't see the problem with it as long as it's not gratuitous (i.e. the infamous "Investigate" Miranda camera angle from ME2).

 

No matter what BioWare does people are going to think that is what it is. Look at the thread here where people are asking for no-overly sexual characters and I am pretty sure people will feel that way if you show a NPC showing any level of sexuality or nudity. I think EA/BioWare could be a little hesitant because of Fox (we really don't do) News and their witch hunt with the "Sexbox" when Mass Effect 1 was released for I don't think they would want any negative press no matter who it is from.

Nudity is overrated, but what I would like to see is the continued use of tasteful camel toes.

This whole Nudity thing has made think, I hope mods do work on console versions so we console peasants can enjoy the Nudity mods or whatever else is given lol.

While I don't think the human body should be something hidden/dirty/shamefull, I've always thought it should be used with moderate amounts and during the right moments.

 

So yes, +1 to nudity, but no -1 to immature "LOL PENIS" or "LOL BOOBS!" nudity and hell no -20 for nudity every 10 goddamn minutes. (looking at you, GoT...)

 

I also believe some romances should stick with no nudity at all, as not some people prefer not to have nudity in their romances/games, which is an understandable, valid concern.

Characters don't have to be very sexualized for there to be nudity. You don't have to sexualize them at all and can still have nudity without it being tasteless. The question is how it gets implemented.

There's always going to be people who are displeased with something. The devs don't necessarily have to play to the majority on everything but some people will take way too much work to please for too few reasons.

 

But in general, I think if they do handle nudity, it needs to be more along the lines of ME1 and less along the lines of Game of Thrones. If intentions are honest, you don't want to give the anti-nudity crowd any ammo.

How in the world has the ME team been 'much smarter' and 'avoided gimmicks' when it comes to sex scenes:

 

DA: O - stupid underwear sex scenes

DA2 - fade to black

DA: I - variety of sex scenes, some of which include minor nudity

 

ME - tasteful 'nude illusion' in sex scenes

ME2 - fade to back and fully clothed dry humping

ME3 - more fade to black and fully clothed dry humping; stupid underwear sex scenes; showering in bras

 

To me, the DA team has gotten better over time.  The ME team has gotten more ridiculous over time.

 

I'd like ME: A to follow either the ME1 or DA: I approach to these scenes.  Fade to black is fine, but seems needlessly prudish.  Underwear sex scenes and clothed dry humping are silly and a waste of time for everyone.

 

This. As long as the awkward underwear/clothed sex is gone, I'm perfectly fine with it. Would love to check out some romance human/humanoid boobs in Andromeda, a turn for science fiction in video games.

Sadly its also a problem in Canada, the province I live in is trying to change the sexual education curriculum and the amount of people upset surprised me and the amount of false information around the campaign was ridiculous for they weren't listening to what the changes were designed to help with.  From my understanding the earlier age content was to help stop webcam exploitation, sexting, and what is unwanted attention.

I liked the way DAI did it. And thought it was far better than anything BW has done before. I also liked the unique quality of each romance and love scene.

 

Although, I mean, you know----it could be "hotter" without necessarily being more explicit. Just by how they film it. Like...seeing a close up of a hand touching their lover's abdomen and seeing the muscles quiver slightly in reaction. Hearing a sharp intake of breath at the same time. Or a close up of the back muscles moving and /or rippling while loving. Lips close to a lover's neck...

 

It can be more sensual without it being more explicit.

 

But I thought DAI did it really well. Right amount of nudity for certain romances. And different styles depending on the character romanced.
