Dear Mods:

Please do not lock threads simply because they were not made in the current calendar month. There is no rule or policy that requires you to do so. The official rule is that old threads are fine if they are on topic. Please check with the long-time admin staff to confirm that what I am saying is true.

Please do not lock threads discussing ME 3 Multiplayer with the phrase "Not discussing ME 3 Multiplayer." If you lack the context to understand whether a thread is discussing ME 3 Multiplayer, then please do not lock the thread and then claim that it wasn't discussing ME 3. This shows a lack of respect for the members, and is inappropriate.

We would very much like to have an amicable relationship with the mods, but that requires that the moderators respect the rules and spirit of the forums like everyone else. I encourage you to open a dialogue with the long-time staff members and developers about the nature of the forums, and that conversations will drift back and forth on occasion. It is normal and expected in any thread.

I also encourage you not to simply act on all reports - many of them are frivolous.

Please do communicate with us. Many of you are new, and believe it or not, you will get better at your job if your discuss it with us and the other staff. There is, in fact, a policy that encourages you to respond to members regarding moderation. That policy has had a role in site moderation for many, many years, and has been considered a crucial element of the process. Again, I encourage you to discuss this with long-time administration staff in order to confirm that what I am saying is true.

I placed this thread here in the ME 3 MP forum* for a very specific reason. Please do not delete it and then ignore it. BioWare learned a long time ago that respectful communication is far more productive than shutting people out and refusing to discuss issues with them.

If any rules or policies have changed, I would ask that those changes be discussed with the members, so that we can better understand them.

Thank you.

*I have decided to place this in the Forum Help section, as I believe that is technically the appropriate section. And, truth be told, several of these points relate to moderation as applied in other forums, as well.

Good luck with that one.

Yeah, I tried to communicate with a couple mods via PMs, but they never responded back.

Yeah, I tried to communicate with a couple mods via PMs, but they never responded back.

I've asked them to explain to me their moderation decisions. No response. Ever.

I do wish they wouldn't lock old threads that have been revived with new relevant discussion. Pointless necros, lock 'em, yeah, but sometimes the old thread becomes relevant again, why lock those?

And I wish they'd clean threads of hate and spam instead of just locking them.
