Did someone ****** in your cheerios today?

 

 

I like women. I like men, too. Im pretty easy to please and there's only rarely been any shortage of fan service in games that suits my taste. One game comes out (one single game) where they threw in a couple more options catering to people that aren't me. Keep in mind that nothing was taken away from me in the process. Something extra was just given to someone else. 

 

Imagine that I'm a little kid who wants cherries on his ice cream. Ive gotten a really good supply of cherries up until now, more than a lot of other little kids. For the first time that I can remember, a few kids next to me get more cherries than I do. I get two while they get four. I like a few of the cherries while a few of them seem small and less flavorful than usual. Over all it's not my favorite selection of cherries I've ever had. So I shrug it off and maybe ask for more or better cherries next time right? I figure thats the normal and rational thing to do. 

 

 

To my surprise all the other little kids around me break out into a fury over the cherries they didn't get. Its a conspiracy against them, O how they suffer. 

 

Its pathetic, juvenile, and embarrassing. I feel embarrassed for them and I feel embarrassed to be lumped in with them because even though I might agree with a lot of their feelings, their attitude about it is dumb and absent of any self awareness. I figure it'll blow over. They can't stay this clueless forever.

 

I was wrong. The games been out for the better part of a year, and the same people are still mewling over like widdle babies. 

 

So yeah. I'm a bit ****** annoyed.

dave is a better person than I am. Just something Im gonna have to accept.

I'm one of the many that voiced concerns about current LIs for dudes. I wasn't trying to go for "changing their looks". I was trying to voice my opinion so that they could avoid having very similar romance tropes in the next DA.

 

It is embarrassing to see when people complain about the looks of their LIs, but it feels like a gender war when the eyerolls come. 

 

There are other games honestly if someone really plays this JUST for the romance. I suggest people become aware of that and branch out. After DAI I found that there were other games out there for me.

 

But I'm still here on the forums trying to voice the opinion that diversity was very bland for straight dudes this time around.

People Tend to remember the ones that can get their point across without distracting others by having an abusive tone or in other cases, a hyperbolic tone.

The thing about people like dave is that other people begin to expect them to be always reasonable and understanding. He can make an obvious comment about how some people alter their own logic to support their immediate argument because of course people do that and somebody will actually try to call him on it like they've caught him in a fallacy. He gets to fend off that nonsense with his usual class while the people arguing with him get to be as underhanded and nasty as they please. I think dave and his ilk get the short straw here over and over again. He has to be twice as reasonable to get half as much credit for it and I still see people calling him names over his POV.  

 

Meanwhile the forum floods with fellows who get fewer options than another demographic for the second time in video game history and suddenly they think they're a persecuted minority and that a few eye roll gifs count as victimization.

Thing is tho, I didn't criticize your criticism so Im not sure whats bothering you. My first post in this thread was in response to someone who called for a return to a 2/2/2 format which is literally just asking for the devs to make sure they never give anyone else more options than they have themselves. Thats what seems petty and babyish to me. I agree with you about the romance options, at least in that I didn't like Josephine's romance either. I have no problem with most of what Ive seen you ask for.

I once agreed to that argument, after playing DAI, the bolded part. Then I found other games out there that cater to me. It was very easy to do that since a lot of games cater to hetereo males currently. It was silly for me to expect a game to cater to all of my desires. So I can understand the frustration for people to read that argument, and your logical reasoning for "i can't have as much fun as someone else because the toys aren't even or in my favor" argument makes sense. It's silly for people to think like it, but they do.

I don't think that would have happened without tone of many "requests" that first come in terms of male LI options, lack and quality of them. After some of those not-Brevnau esque of demands fandom culture happened and people sometimes got shut down/judged too fastly.  Though I still think most people here have responded reasonable requests with respect.

Not really against this, but not really for this. I like to imagine that my inquisitors who romance Josie are taking things slow, having a "real" romance rather than a "sex scene" one.

It's sweet and Josie deserves to be admired.

Who knows? There can be something blossoming into more with up coming DLC and if One is not romancing Josie, I think she deserves to be happy . I'd love to see if she isn't romanced for her to be able to be with Blackwall, if she can accept him after telling the truth.

I wouldn't call him a monster, more of a jerkface.

Yes. Because Bioware would write them to be a really good couple for each other, like they have with the other pairings, which would make me feel like I'm destroying something when I romance her. The same thing happened when they paired Garrus and Tali. They were made to be good together to the point I feel bad romancing either one.

That scene doesn't work for me in so many ways.  I can't decide what would be worse being left naked and alone, or all the places she must have had hay lodged into her skin.  Super unromantic scene.  Oh well, Still love the guy and want him to be happy...with Josie

I agree with Daisy it does feel like I'm denying Mr.Blackwall a happy after story if I did romance miss Josephine. But since I don't really like her character, or Cassandra's character I'm not going to be happy one way or the other.

He orders and participates in the butchering of an innocent family for gold then leaves his men whom he lied to about what they were doing to take the fall. He is a monster.
